What We Love
- It's all-inclusive, and the sugar white sands of Arena Gorda Beach that's shaded by coconut palms? Epic.
- No reservations needed at any of the restaurants.
- The mind-blowing, stress-smashing treatments at the spa. (Turning into Jello is a definite.)
- The liquor dispensers in your room. Every day - or hour - is a party.
- A kids' club that has a pool so you can take a much-needed breather. (Was that applause we just heard?)
- Snorkeling at a large ship that ran aground where you can see magnificent, colorful fish. The equipment is free.
- The resort's tropical gardens where you can wander and marvel at the lush breathtaking flora.
- The friendly housekeeping staff - they'll bring you whatever you want.
Things to Know
- It's just 19 miles from Punta Cana airport and 31 miles from Higey. Your vacay is about to kick in.
- You can try out all the activities and sports of the four sister resorts nearby. Go for it.
- Soana Island is well worth the trip. It's a quiet island paradise. A slice of heaven.
- Windsurfing and kayaking or if you want a slower pace, grab a pedal boat and glide around.
- Altos de Chavon, the "City of Artists" is near and a super fun excursion.
- You can ride horses at the Caribbean Cachondeo, or hang with the stingrays at the Marinarium Marine Park.
- Check out Caribbean Street - a variety of terrific stores for your shopping addiction.
- Water park with slides, tobogans, kids pool, sun terrace and snack bar.
When you first set foot on the soft sands of Arena Gorda, you'll feel the ocean breezes, then it occurs to you: you've got everything you ever wanted in a dreamy beach vacation. But then comes the decisions: should you snorkel and say "hello" to the fish? Grab a drink at the bar? Head to the spa to erase all your workaday worry? Hop on a boat over to delicious, paradise-found Saona Island? All of the above? Flip a coin to see in which order? It's all here. And it's all good. No, make that spectacular.

VERY CHEAP LAST MINUTE FORTNIGHT BREAK
A married couple in our sixties.Excellent value for money. Rooms are hit and miss but PASCUAL and BERNARD on the desk gave excellent service in finding us a delightful suite after trying a few rooms. The entertainment team were fine and my wife joined in most keep fit sessions. If you wish to carry out a fitness regime there is access to a gym at the RIU palace hotel next door. Plenty of sunbeds by the one big pool but a short walk revealed a magnificent beach with no shortage of sunbeds. There is a beach club for this hotel adjacent to the beach. There is a splash park behind the hotel with free entry to RIU clients. There is a great bar on a hill overlooking the pool and a main bar open nightly for lobby and entertainment. Both staffed with friendly professional staff. The food and service at the main buffet was superb with a shout out for RAPHAEL who kept us entertained throughout. The a la carte restaurants shared different opening days and neither appeared popular. As with other RIUs in the area, access was allowed four times weekly to the purpose built foam party complex a short distance away. The shows are breathtaking and worth a visit or two. As the hotel is smaller than it's neighbours we got to meet and befriend other guests. First time I've seen Russians in this neck of the woods and we found them to be particularly friendly, Budgie Smuggler trunks not withstanding. We were lucky with the rain but if you are on a budget you cannot beat this GREAT LITTLE HOTEL.
Vacances formidables / Wonderful holiday 2020
Punta Cana February 14 to 21, 2020: So here is a summary of our absolutely wonderful experience at HOTEL RIU NAIBOA. This trip was delicious in every way. For more than twenty years, we have been traveling, mainly in the Dominican Republic, so we have visited several complexes. This experience is, without a doubt, the best experience to date. Since we frequently refer to comments from other travelers to choose our piece of paradise, this is our turn to give you an overview. A complex of five different hotels that meet all needs. We opted for Naiboa, with a family tone. The welcome was impeccable, if not more than five minutes between arrival at the hotel and our entry into our room, clean, super pretty, with a splendid view. All the people who work there are friendly and helpful and seem to enjoy their work environment. Maintenance at all levels is meticulous. At the main buffet, the choices are limitless and absolutely delicious. In addition, the team is very attentive. At the beach there is a snack bar style restaurant with a variety of interesting choices. The shops are spread out along an absolutely charming little lane that leads to the sea, a much appreciated gap. There is very little solicitation and very reasonable items and prices. The sea is heavenly, turquoise of which one dreams and a subtle maintenance which is without reproach, without algae. The sun was there all week, sprinkled with little passing rain to cool off. The journey from start to finish was uneventful. Being a coffee lover, we tasted it all week. It was important for us to pass on this experience because we were delighted with the experience. I wish you to benefit from it. Darlène and François
DO NOT GO BY THE PICS THEY SHOW YOU, it’s something so different in real ! My family and I just got back from a 1 week stay here! The rooms are very basic and were fresh painted! The staff is nice except for the guy on the front desk with curly hair who welcomed people and there director! There’s only one swimming pool and two restaurants when one is open the other is closed! They do not have there own beach you have to walk to the beach! We had a late flight and had to check out at 12 but they let us spend the day downstairs in the hotel and use all the Benefits! The hotel is clean and the food is good but they make the same thing almost every day so you don’t have a huge selection! What I hated was that after we checked out the director was very very rude , every one was taking food to there room and since we were no longer staying there we took our lunch to the lobby to eat and he was shouting and said to go back to the restaurant or he will kick us out! The staff is nice but all the higher powered people r so rude! Very basic hotel not at all 4 stars more like a 4 star inn ! For the price I paid I wish we booked a better hotel with more options for entertainment, food , drinks and pools and a beach! Won’t be returning here again not worth the price! And if you are going with kids there’s only one small pool! The water park they advertise is the other hotels which you have to walk to and there security stairs at you really badly ! All the pools close at 6 so they are not 24-7 and the restaurants and bars are also not 24-7 they open for a few hours each and serve a lot of cold raw food, a lot of frozen stuff! Not a good variety for people who drink they have only a few drinks which u repeat! The director got a bad attitude he should be nicer to people we didn’t go for free we paid to be there! This place really needs upgrades and more things to do !
My two children and I just came back from a one week all-inclusive at this beautiful hotel. The staff are unbelievable from housekeeping to the entertainment. They were all super friendly and always eager to help. The room we stayed in was very clean, and housekeeping always kept the fridge stocked. We loved the short walk to the beach, lined with souvenir stores. Everyone who ran the shops were very friendly and loved to interact with you as you walked past. The beach was absolutely amazing!! Always clean and the beach vendors were much less aggressive than other places I’ve stayed. It was nice to have a beach bar with the activity shed right at the beach. Just like in the resort the bartenders and staff were always friendly and pleasant to deal with. The waterpark was a lot of fun, the slides were fast and in great condition. Although there were only two restaurants in the resort there was always a large selection of foods to try. We really loved sitting in the pool bar overlooking the pool. The evening entertainment was awesome. I really enjoyed watching the staff put on a show with all the little kids nightly before the evening ”show time!!” I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to any of my family or friends.
Not worth it.
Resort is not at the water, you have to walk down a street to get there, this was the biggest dissapointment to me as i never went to a resort not on the beach! Food was good, beach was great, a little rough where we were, but lower down the beach we found nicer areas. The water looked a little dirty in front of the resort, but i guess with all the sun tan and sun block lotions and everything else, we cant expect pristine water, so we walked lower down less people water was cleaner.! Before we left, when we viewed the property, the highlight was a splash pool in the middle of the resort. Got there and its at another sister resort..not too bad, but got mixed messages from staff whether we can go there or not. Spa lady walked around advising we can use the spa facilities at another sister resort, but was told no when we arrived. Mosquitoes at the living daylight out of my kids! We could not sit anywhere outside without being eaten. At least we had ay ya yay (entertainment staff) to lighten the mood throughtout the day, and evenings.
