Beautiful area, nice staff, and a lot of stuff to do

This place is amazing for all types of people. There is a lot of activity in the hotel for kids and adults and every Friday there is a party where you can dance play game shows and relax. You might see a lot of butterflies and iguanas around the hotel which is cool. I definitely recommend if you are going to Costa Rica

    More than worth it!!!

My husband and I returned to this resort because of its beauty, its location and most of all the friendly people. Yes, the hotel is starting to show some wear, but the staff works so hard to keep it shiny, until they can remodel (I believe that is the plan, when the new RIU opens next door in December 2024, according to a few employees I spoke to.) The price of this hotel is outstanding for all inclusive. The food is good, I’m a picky pescatarian and have enjoyed many meals here. There are plenty of excursions to choose from (additional cost of course) and the events on the grounds every evening are a nice addition. Julissa in the entertainment department is one of the hardest working gals I’ve seen! She’s awesome and enthusiastic! The foam party in the pool was a blast!! Fiorela is a super enthusiastic waitress near the pool. You’ll love her. The vendors on the beach are very kind. They may ask you once if you are interested in their goods and won’t bother again. Their prices are awesome and for many, this is their livelihood, so please consider a purchase. If you meet Marisol, she’s a sweetheart!!! Buy from her!!! We did white water rafting today with the Tenorio River Rafting company. Jetlen was our guide and was amazing. We have been here for 6 out of our 8 day stay, only two days left of our vacay. I will miss the gorgeous morning walks on the beach to visit the capuchins, the mountains, the lush green, tropical grounds. I’m a pretty particular person when it comes to hotels, I’ve travelled a good bit, but this one is my favorite. ❤️

We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Guanacaste! A few things to note:

We enjoyed our stay at the Riu Guanacaste! A few things to note: - We were very disappointed to see raccoons at the steakhouse close to where we were seated. They even jumped on the chairs near us to grab food left by previous customers… - The mini-bar and coffee in the room are refilled every other day. - The staff at the sports bar were very pleasant! - Special thanks to Danny for the amazing service at the buffet mimosas and the Italian restaurant! Danny is very professional. - Thank you to Orlando for fixing our room's door lock key promptly! - It was great to walk on the beach and see the monkeys. - The resort's landscape is amazing! - The White Party was really fun! Get ready to party! - The Michael Jackson show was spectacular! Thank you, Riu! Overall, our stay was great!

    Very charming

This resort is very charming, with beautiful landscaping and Costa Rican flair. The staff are amazing! The food is decent, but the buffet could use more options at lunch.

    Family Vacation

Had a great stay at Riu Guanacaste with extended family. The resort is older but all very clean. Any thing we needed request via the app (fresh towels, more in room coffee) they provided. Food was good, lot of choices at the Buffets. Beach is clean and beautiful, yes the sand gets hot but its hot and you are close to the equator. Beach vendors asked but then left you alone if you didn't want to purchase. Everyone was very friendly. Yes the evening party activities and pool music is loud, request a room that is not above those things if needed. Ear plugs worked the nights we were partied out. Beautiful landscaping all around the resort.
