Exceptional customer service by all the staff. Our suite was fantastic and the resort is fantastic. Excellent restaurants, lots of choice. Pools were beautiful and wonderfully serviced. Would go back in a heartbeat. Kudos to the servers at Spoons and poolside server Marianna.
Azul Beach Resort Resort Riviera Cancun
Mexico 2020 Reception One to one check in with drinks and nibbles, very good service TUI have a donations box for left-overs, so check here first before you buy anything There are bottles of ‘fizz’ in reception most of the time, but no real bar until the ‘mojito bar’ opens Sometimes too much perfume used in the air conditioning in reception Boutique / gift shop Usual tourist gifts and essentials – reasonable choice Block 2 (adults) Top floor room (4th), noisy due to air conditioning plant on roof (take your earplugs) Rooms are a bit dated, small TV with poor selection of channels, all movie channels seem to have Spanish sub-titles Mini-bar is ok and refreshed daily, some beers are a bit weak Room is open plan, you walk straight into the bathroom with glazed doors to the WC and shower, the shower has a glass panel into the bedroom Jacuzzi bath in bedroom and decent balcony area with furniture International ‘phone calls are included from your room, just follow the instructions Beach Not too busy, has bar and grill for food and drink Not keen on the weekly beach BBQ / meal, food was cold and limited choice, try to book elsewhere Adults pool Quite(ish), music is played most of day, but not too invasive Cabana beds are available, 1st come though and mostly gone by 7.30/8.00am Swim up bar – good service and choice of drinks Drinks are all named spirits (if you ask) plus Dos Equis beer (plus amber) – I think it’s the best Mexican beer Watch out for people not going to the toilet though! The Moet party is noisy and expensive, we gave it a miss Watch out for sunburn if you spend too long at the bar! Spoon The main restaurant for meal Breakfast – good choice of food and drink, eggs cooked to order, smoked salmon and a booze counter, tends to get busy 8.30 / 9.30am Lunch – good choice of food, pasta cooked to order, good table service for drinks Evening meal – themed nights, good choice of food and good table service for drinks The surf and turf theme was mostly turf as the surf had all gone at 7.45pm The Chinese theme night has a good choice of food The Indian themed night is very good There are only about ½ hr gaps between meals, so you shouldn’t need to go hungry Sometimes the food is not piping hot Tapaz Good food and service Siena (Italian) Evening meals are excellent, the mushroom truffle risotto is superb and the steaks are great, the fried shrimp starter is generous Zavaz (Caribbean) Serves cooked to order breakfast (didn’t try it though) Serves cooked to order lunch (very good burgers, shrimp, traditional, fish and chips (fish does not seem to suit deep frying) not keen on the Japanese burger, ‘rasta pasta’ was a huge portion Evening meals are excellent, steaks, belly pork etc., all cooked perfect and great service, some desserts are small Wave (evening bar) Great choice of drinks (same as the swim up bar), can get noisy if youngsters are around Le Chique Tried the taster menu, not really keen, I like traditional food, others say the full menu was unusual Mojito bar Same good choice of drinks Mojitos are service in the trendy fruit jars Outside seating is limited and inside gets busy and noisy Overall / staff / service Complex is small, so everything is a short walk away All seems to be accessible if you have buggies or wheelchairs The staff are superb, they will try to meet your every need (Alfredo + Pedro) Drinks are top shelf stuff (if you ask) Tipping is appreciated but not essential There are not hot drinks served at the bars Very limited choice of diet / sugar free soft drinks (ie diet coke) Speciality restaurants need to be booked, but sometimes you can get a walk-in with a pager The eco-tax is per room per night, not very clear at welcome meeting Room service is included and has a reasonable choice of food Toilets are bit far apart, usually used the ‘Zavaz’ toilets during the day, but everything is close by
I first want to share a review about the poolside staff at Azul~ My husband and I spent a week at a swim-up room. The highlight of our days was when we'd be sitting on our patio or in the pool, and along would come Blanca with her brilliant smile and happy demeanor. With a cheerful "Hola!" she'd ask if we wanted anything, and within minutes we were happily sipping away on our tropical drinks. Blanca was always appearing when we most needed her, and she even remembered what we liked. It was great to chat with her, and we miss seeing her now that we are home. We know the bar works as a team, so I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Lucia, Uriel, Angel, and Alejandro! Thank you! As for the rest of our vacation, it is the staff at Azul that made it remarkable, beginning and ending with Miguel. It is a wonder how once he meets you, he remembers you during your entire stay. Helpful beyond measure. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Well appointed, and very roomy. WiFi is great. Comfortable beds. Everything we needed was there, and we spent a lot of our time walking around the resort, lounging on our patio, and eating at each of the many wonderful restaurants (be SURE to make reservations as soon as you arrive or you will be disappointed!). Now for our biggest complaint: The Friday tequila tasting party at the pool. The music started at 10:40 am and didn't stop until after 4:00 pm. We had absolutely NO problem with the party ~ everyone was having a great time, but the MUSIC ~ when I say it was loud, I mean EARSPLITTING. We were sitting only 8' apart on our patio and couldn't speak to one another because the music from the party was SO LOUD. My husband and I had planned our last day lounging on our patio reading and just relaxing. Well, that was not to be. We tried to sit and read, but it was SO LOUD we couldn't concentrate, and it was actually giving me a headache after about 3 hours. I called concierge several times to ask if they would just turn down the music, but was only told "No, go to the party". What?! It was an on/off rainy day, and my husband and I couldn't enjoy our patio. We had to walk to the other side where we found empty lounge chairs under an umbrella to read under our towels trying to keep warm and dry. We're all for a tequila tasting party, but if you reserve a swim up suite, be prepared to be BLASTED out of your room for the entire day every Friday for the ENTIRE day. They will NOT turn down the music. Very, very disappointing. On Thursday night there was a large beach party (can't remember what they called it), where everyone goes down to the beach for a giant fiesta. The problem is, EVERYONE goes down, and there was upwards of nearly an hour's wait. There's a Starbucks that is cash only. Not sure of how extensive the menu is, but some will be happy to see it. We had a great couple's massage. Since this is an all-inclusive, tipping is optional. We tipped (in US dollars) whenever we could.
Mexico dream destination Tui Sensatori
This hotel was one of the best we have stayed in. The staff, every single one of them, were friendly and polite, always had a smile and hello for you and couldn't do enough to help you, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless and very spacious with really comfy beds/pillows. The pools, so many to choose from, were constantly cleaned and we never struggled to get a sunbed, (the hotel was full) they have a strict no reservation policy before 7am. The beach was cleaned constantly to ensure there was no seaweed on the beach and the beach bar served great food and drinks with staff at both the pools and beach constantly asking if you wanted a drink The food was amazing in all the restaurants with all the speciality restaurants also serving top class food, definitely something for everyone, the quality was excellent I could not fault this hotel, special shout out to our concierge in block 3 who was so helpful to us and also the barman at the Zavaz pool bar who had a cheeky smile and was such fun, we found this to be the best bar with the best cocktails The only suggestion I would make for the hotel is Starbucks seems to have such a central location and prime spot and although I loved being able to get a coffee, they were only open limited hours and really this would be so much better as a bar. We found by 10.30pm there really want much to do but we went for a relaxing holiday so wasnt to bothered by this but I expect young couples would be a bit bored of an evening
This is our 3rd time at this resort, despite the current situation, we had a great time. Transportation from the airport to the hotel and back was quick and very pleasant, our driver Felix Rodriguez was excellent. Upon arriving to the hotel we greeted with a refreshing drink and Manuel quickly helped us with our room options. We had mentioned my wife’s birthday and our anniversary in advanced, and received a room upgrade and many other perks during our stay. At the pool, Miguel, Valentino, Alessandro, made our day to day activities very relaxing, these guys are very accommodating, always a great smile on their faces. Archangel was the Tequila guru, very knowledgeable, we had a very informative Tequila testing session. Karen and Brandon looked after us very well and helped us any anything we needed. Thanks Karen for all your patience with us. The grounds are pristine all the time, rooms were very clean as well, thanks to Patty. Food is always excellent, at all the times, lots of variety, lots of restaurants to choose from, the seefood is excellent. We had a great time at the Italian restaurant with all the staff celebrating my wife’s birthday. Great singers ! We were happy to see Janet again. We had our massage done by Noe and Greeley, cannot say enough about them, best massage ever! They know how to apply the correct pressure, where needed. Overall we had a terrific time. We will be coming back to see our friends again next year.
