Escape the real world at this luxurious Caribbean hideaway. This all-inclusive Cancun resort's specialty is tropical romance so, naturally, the resort offers plenty of wedding and honeymoon packages.
While you may be away from it all, we recommend that you leave the comforts of your room for at least a little, or you'll miss the fabulous food at the resort's eight restaurants. Even breakfast is a gourmet affair at Le Marche, with its omelet station and local fruits and veggies. The casually elegant Taman Sari serves up an eclectic mix of Thai and Indonesian dishes. If you just want to grab a tropical cocktail while you sunbathe on the beach, the Sunrise & Sunset bar is close at-hand. Nine other bars also serve unlimited drinks throughout the resort.
To top off its appeal, the resort continues to show their environmental consciousness through their property, set amid lush, tropical vegetation, providing a tropical background for memories that will last a lifetime. Will definitely go back here
Stayed here for honeymoon in December of 2019. Had a great experience. Very friendly staff, very clean resort and lots to do. Because we were on honeymoon, we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge - which was appreciated. Lots of restaurants to pick from and require no reservations. However, it is recommended you go early to the restaurant of your choice, to avoid line-ups (especially if you are over holiday seasons) and to get good seats. Breakfast options are GREAT. And 24 hours room service came in handy more than one occasion. We felt very safe at the resort. We would walk around the resort and by the beach at odd times during the night and always felt at ease. Every 100 meters or so of the resort wall there is a security check post - to ensure no intruders can get in for the safety of its patrons. Kudos to your team to going to that extent to make sure your clients are safe. Every night there were tons of different events, markets and shows. So there was always something to do and experience something different. Few things to consider if you are planing to go to this resort (speaking from an experience): - If you are not from US, make sure you bring US currency with you. As Mexico is very much catered to US clients and everyone accepts US currency. However, do bring some Mexican currency as well - for tips, etc. - It is sad, but the restaurant menus aren't catered towards vegans at all. They make accommodations and can make changes to their items on the menu - but it can be challenging having to explain with language barriers. - Restaurants have a dress code - So bring a few pairs of trousers and formal dresses. Luckily i had brought couple of trousers with me - in case it rained or whatever. But normally going to Caribbean trousers are the last thing on my mind. - Tiki huts at the beach are limited and get taken very quick. It's best if you go there early, put your bags or hats, or towels to reserve them. Or else you'd be walking back and forth a while, waiting for people to leave - unless you are ok with no shade. - If you are in the markets outside the resort or within the resort - NEVER pay the asking price. There have been instances where i bought the items for less than 60% off the asking price. If you look foreigner and don't speak the language, be assured margins go up exponentially. - Although it is adults only resort - time to time you see children at the beach from other resorts. - Bicycles aren't available at all times and you cannot just rent them to explore the resort (which was a bummer as it is a very big resorts). You can only use bicycles during specific group tours on specific days and times. Of course your experience will be different than everyone else's - as was mine. That said, we will definitely go back here. Most important piece of suggestion is USE COMMON SENSE - inside or outside the resort.
The VIM just gets better and better!
When something makes a really good first impression, you occasionally build up the experience so much in your mind that you can’t help but be a little disappointed the second time around. This is NOT the case with the Valentin Imperial. During our first visit there last January, we decided that we’d be returning the following winter, and spent the rest of 2019 telling anyone who would listen how superb the VIM is. We returned in the first week of February 2020 and found that like a good red wine, the Valentin Imperial only gets better with time (see our review from last year, titled “We’d give it 6 starts if we could!”). We stayed in the same building and had another smooth check-in upon arrival. The weather was fantastic and we got to enjoy all the activities we loved from last year, like the foam party, aqua cycling, the resort bike tour, 5k race and the excellent evening entertainment. We also tried some new activities, like arts & crafts, Spanish lessons and a half-day excursion to snorkel with sea turtles and in the Cenotes. The excursion was through Barrakuda Dive Center, a tour company that is exclusive to the Valentin Imperial. The beach where we snorkeled with sea turtles was a little crowded and touristy, but we did get to see many adorable sea turtles! The Cenotes (bodies of freshwater in and around caves) are incredible. The water was cool and very clear, so we saw many interesting plants, fish and rock formations. Plus, it was a lot less touristy. Our guide “Chief” was very knowledgeable and fun! We were at the VIM on Super Bowl Sunday, and the staff put on an impressive watch party in El Palenque theatre, complete with a giant dinner buffet, endless snacks/drinks, the game projected on a big overhead and fun decorations. We still enjoyed going to Don Miguel while waiting to be seated at one of the ever-fantastic restaurants, but also ventured to the martini bar (try the mojitos!) for pre-dinner drinks and snacks too. We switched off on Le Marche and Mar y Tierra for breakfast and lunch daily, and had our favorite things at each, but both are great. We hope that the resort opens again soon, and are planning to return for our third (but not last!) trip this coming winter to discover even more that we love about our home away from home. Thank you to all the staff and GO team members for going above and beyond to make this resort so wonderful!
Sigh!!! Where does one start? This is, by far, the best resort we've been to! We had very specific qualities we were looking for and Valentin Imperial more than delivered. First things first, the food! Ohhh the food! Wow! Wow! Really well done. Never the same meal twice even if you went to the buffets. This was our number 1 concern and wow, did they deliver. We were very spoiled and chose to enjoy The Corner with the wine pairing for my birthday. INCREDIBLE. Coming from a big culinary background, we tend to be disappointed in resort food. Not here! Beyond over the top food and service. Once in a lifetime experience! ( that we will repeat yearly :)). The service: Impeccable from the minute we stepped onto the resort, we were treated like royalty. Unfortunately, our travel agent did not do what we paid her to do. The resort took excellent care of this mistake and we had an incredible room. We were in building 7 and I highly recommend it. I suggest booking direct with the resort to get the best of everything. The pools are gorgeous but the Golden Pool is by far the most relaxing. Loved the no smoking rule! The beach: Oh goodness, the beach! No saving seats, even though a lot of people did, we never had a problem finding a spot to spend the day. The service on the beach was fantastic! Spicy Caesars are never going to be the same at home. The service: Best staff and service we've ever encountered at a Mexican resort. Our concierge, Rosario, was an absolute delight and took great pains to make certain we had anything and everything we could ask for. She is one of the reasons we will come back in 2021. Whether it was the front desk, bellmen, housekeeping, concierge, bartenders, wait staff, or cart drivers, they were so friendly, so kind and always smiling. I truly hope management treats them as nice as they treated us. The grounds: Simply stunning. You can get a bit lost as the resort is fairly big but it is not impersonal at all. The foliage, plants, and gardens are incredible. We were in constant amazement. All in all, Valentin Imperial is the best resort we've been to. They checked all the boxes and then some! See you in a year!
This is the hardest review to write. 100% of the staff we interacted with were awesome, Memo, Jesus, Lorenzo, Miguel, Naelleye (spelling). All the water staff day in and day out. We enjoyed gourmet food, fun games, pool parties and a great beach. My son and his now wife held a gorgeous wedding and the wedding planner was perfect. The downside, someone broke into our room, took my personal cell phone and $40.00 out of $200.00 from my wife's hidden wallet.they did this between 7:00 and 10:30pm. Perhaps they were waiting for us to leave. Desperate times....if you go, carry All your valuables with you. Aside from the theft, this is truly a remarkable property and staff with at least one bad apple. Otherwise a 5 star rating I'm dropping to a 2 for theft. Just our experience.
The minute you turn into the Valentin, the stress melts away. We first visited the VIRM in 2008, It was our first time at an “all inclusive” resort. We were blown away by the beauty of the grounds. 12 years later the gardens are spectacular and are stunningly beautiful. The restaurants are superb. There is something for everyone at any of the seven they have. I have to mention the carpochio at the Italian. The entire staff of the VIRM have alway treated us with such kindness. We love them all. ❤️ If you’re looking for a party, a romantic getaway or just a break, the VIRM has it all! Needless to say, we absolutely love the Valentin Imperial Maya.
