    Food was the best ever

    We stayed at Krystal grand Feb 23- mar 8. It was a great trip. Food was amazing. Best fruit we ever had. Staff is very attentive. Would have preferred a better view of the ocean being that we paid for an upgraded deluxe ocean view room. We were on 5the floor of building 6 and looked directly down onto the roof of the Japanese restaurant. Bar service amazing. Issac Beltran was very helpful with questions about trips to bucerias and the malecon. He even helped me set up uber on my phone. We will be back. Next time would like a better view of the ocean please.

    Okay, But Not Great

    The hotel itself is a bit run down and much smaller than the images and map looked when researching. The separation between adults only and family spaces was not ideal with the swim-up bar being a joint area and the 'adults only' right next to the family area (literally only a waist height wall in the water separating the two). When I asked for linen to make up the fold out bed, I waited an hour and then walked to the reception area (because our phone wasn't working) to then have to wait another 15 minutes while they made calls and figured out how to get me some sheets ???? I then had to wait another 20 minutes for them to arrive. The reason for the trip was for my mom's 60th. We pre-arranged for the room to have it's 'something special' and for Dinner to be sorted. Upon arrival, we were moved to a higher room (not better... but higher) which was nice - but the decorated room and cake/champaign that was supposed to be waiting for us did not move with us. I even mentioned it to the concierge - who said they would bring something up - did not. We were given the wrong information (which happened a few times) about the need to sign up for the excursion resulting in it being full and us not being able to participate. My mother injured her shoulder when going to place her arms on the wall to enjoy the view and didn't see a large dip in the concrete (none of us saw it.... it is not clearly marked) which made her trip slightly and hurt her shoulder leaving a large bruise. The response to this was, sorry. You have no choice but to listen to the nightly entertainment because the resort is so small and even with the door shut and the aircon on - it was still very loud with the balcony light not being able to turn off either. Information on the room service was not provided upon check in and confusing. The location is far away from the towns (on either side) and not convenient if you want to walk and explore The best part about the resort was the food. there was a nice selection of restaurant choices at night (not during the day) and the food at even the cantina was varied and tasted good. The drink service was also good and prompt. If you have kids, or if you are doing a family thing and need to accomodate for both kid and non-kid family members it is a good option but if you are having a holiday without children I would not recommend this resort. I was very disappointed and will not be returning. This was my experience as a 'VIP

    Fantastic Experience, Would go Back

    This resort goes above and beyond any expectation I had. I am not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. I think that some people just don't know how to relax and have a good time. The staff are absolutely incredible! Attention to detail in on point and they are there to make sure you are having the best experience while at their resort. The food is also fantastic. There are four restaurants, plus the buffet. Each restaurant has its own unique taste and does not get old. The hibachi style grill does require reservations, but it is not a complicated process. We put reservations in at 11AM the day of, at the concierge desk. The rooms were great too. We had a room on the second and sixth floor. Views of the resort and ocean were refreshing to look at. Housekeeping was spot on each day as well. The room service was awesome! Literally 24 hours a day, we had pretty much everything on the menu and it did not disappoint.

    Not all as advertised

    This hotel has a feeling of being old and not well taken of or updated. Most of the employees were very nice. The room we ended up in was nice and larger than the first one we were taken to (part of a "game" to get you to listen to other offers, we found out too late), however it was very very sparsely furnished, it had no handle on the large "patio" door, the so called "patio" was quite small and it faced the pool however you couldn't see anything for all the foliage blocking the view, my husband got locked in the bathroom because the handle quit working so I called for help which took nearly an hour then they couldn't get off so they had to literally drill the thing off, the back of our room faced the pool which was kind of nice but the door faced the next door hotel's machinery which was ALWAYS LOUD, they had a kids gymnastics tournament going on which caused the pools etc. to be over run with little kids and their families, it was very very loud at night as they had "entertainment" poolside at night (fortunately they did end it at 10:00 pm), the first day our room was never cleaned until I called then it was that night (never mind by then!) the restaurants were not open and serving as advertised either. The food was just ok and most of the restaurants were for exclusive guests only or were very loud and crowded, again, the kids etc. issue. The day we got there we had not eaten since breakfast and it was late afternoon, so we were hungry but could not find anywhere to get food. We were told that the bar at the infinity pool were grilling hamburgers etc. but ALL they had to offer was queso (terrible and fake tasting) and some chips (they were warm and good!), and were told none of the restaurants opened until 6:30! We went down to the beach one day...they were setting up for a wedding that evening so there were only a few lounge chairs set up (all taken of course) and nearly no space to even lay out a towel. The front desk staff seemed to not know what was going on most of the time. For the money we paid to stay at a "nice" all inclusive we were very very disappointed, to say the least. On the plus side...they always had bottled water and liquor available.

    Reflect Nuevo Vallarta Mexico

    We visited Reflect Nuevo Vallarta in February of 2020. Our last mexican resort vacation had been at Riu Palace just next door so our first impression was that Reflect was not as high end as Palace. However, what they lacked in appearance, they more than made up for in hospitality. At the buffet, Juanito treated us like royalty. He paid attention to every detail, even bringing us our favorite drinks before he even greeted us at the table. He went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed, precise, fast and very accommodating. He really made us feel like we were at home away from home. My partner became ill and Edgar made sure room service sent us extra bottles of water to prevent dehydration from setting in. Claudia arranged for the kitchen to prepare a special order of oatmeal cooked with water instead of milk to help settle the stomach and give some energy as well as nutrition. They really took good care of us and seemed genuinely interested in our well being. Going on vacation where you don't know anyone or even speak the language can sometimes be a bit scary but I'm glad we ended up in a place where the employees do their best to take care of you and make you feel safe.
