Oct 19, 2026Amazing place to relax and enjoy
We love the location being. It was only twenty five minute ride from the airport. The atmosphere surrounding the resort was magical. Very relaxing and inviting. The rooms were very spacious. The shower was huge, lived the double sinks. Beds were very comfortable. Had a fabulous ocean view from our room and balcony. The resort is spotless. Our room service, housekeeping and filling our refrigerator was perfect. Plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The activities and the shows were fantastic. The different restaurants offer lots of choices. Favorite was the grill for dinner. Breakfast was Rosewater and the spoon buffet. Loved the activities you could participate. Spicy Luis was the best entertainment person ever!

Secrets is a great choice
Secrets was an excellent choice for my husband and I to spend a week. Our room was an Ocean front in building 1. It was very clean and comfortable. It was in a great location. The restaurants were all excellent! The wait staff was very accommodating. The food at every restaurant was delicious! Although there was not a pool bar, the pool waiters were always there to take orders. The towel boy, Daniel, was too notch. Always smiling and always helping. The events coordinator, Luis, was the BEST! Always getting everyone involved whether it was dancing, exercising, trivia, or bingo! He was amazing and friendly with a great personality. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at secrets while also getting to explore the more energized side of the Breathless resort. Great week!

The hotel itself was clean. Food was not good at all at the buffet morning and lunch. The Asian restaurant was wonderful. Danny and Luis at the preferred pool are amazing.

Great stay overall!
The stay was great overall. First and foremost, the food was really good which did not disappoint at all. Drink options are great as well. Staffs are friendly, hotel is clean, well maintained and they always have full of events and activities to keep you busy. The only thing is the location. It is not in hotel zone nor Playa de Carmen so its a bit remote. If you want relaxing stay, like staying in the resort only, or just Xcaret park visits, it works perfect. When I was there in Oct, there was lot of seaweed in the beach so it was not ideal for swimming in the ocean and the colour of ocean was not like typical Cancun. But I understand its not their fault. It was stormy season so im sure things are better during other time. One interesting thing...they have 3 large pools and I feel like each one have their own theme and audience. 1 for young ppl, DJ all day party atmosphere. 2nd for chill but still fun, more for like age 30 to mid age. Last one for relaxing, more for matured crowds. One day was enough for me at the first one. The rest days were at either 2nd or 3rd one for me. Personal opinion! It was good to have different types of pool :)

We stayed here to celebrate my birthday, and I will say this is not the level of a Secrets that we are accustomed to. The staff here was absolutely amazing and why I am rating higher. This Secrets was lacking a lot compared to other Secrets which is very disappointing. There is only one restaurant, and all the others are tied to the Breathless side which is clearly the party side. It seems this Secrets was clearly an afterthought as the beach, palapas, etc. were not take care off but if you go to the Breathless side there is a nice beach area that is well maintained. I don't get this as you pay more to stay at a Secrets. Also, people came over from the Breathless side as there was no security to keep them out, so it was very loud at times and people were vomiting in the pool on a daily basis. This was not exactly how I wanted to spend my relaxing birthday, so very let down in my expectation. If you want a party place then this is it but know you might as well stay at Breathless as that is where everything is located (ie: restaurants, entertainment, nice beach area).
