Travel Protection Plus

By purchasing our Travel Protection Plus, travelers can relax and have confidence in their vacation purchase. If needed, travelers can cancel their trip for any reason. Simply call us at any time prior to departure to cancel and receive a refund of 50% or 75% of their total trip cost, minus the cost of the Travel Protection Plus. Other benefits include no fees for vacation revisions, hurricane travel credit and during travel benefits such as 24-hour emergency assistance, baggage protection and more. Travel Protection Plus - Standard Benefits

  • Cancel your vacation, for whatever reason, and you're covered.
    • Cancel for ANY reason and get up to 50% of the money back in original form of payment. Non-refundable hotel rates are not included. Plus, no supplier revision fees and a hurricane travel credit.
  • Worry less about travel mishaps.
    • Up to $500 in catch-up expenses if the trip is delayed, up to $300 if bags are delayed, up to $1,000 for lost belongings, and up to $50,000 reimbusement of medical expenses if you get sick or hurt during your trip, plus up to $75,000 for emergency transportation.

Travel Protection Plus - Standard is non-transferable and must be repurchased (reactivated) if coverage is desired for the amended booking. A reactivation fee of 6% of total trip cost applies on the reactivated travel protection plan.

Eligibility: This plan is only available to U.S. (except Puerto Rico) residents booking travel with CheapCaribbean.

Travel Protection Plus - Enhanced coverage is non-transferable and must be repurchased (reactivated) if coverage is desired for the amended booking. A reactivation fee of 7.5% of total trip cost applies on the reactivated travel protection plan. 

Eligibility: This plan is only available to U.S. (except Puerto Rico) residents booking thier travel with CheapCaribbean.
The following items are not refundable under Travel Protection Plus: 
  • "No Show" situations where the traveler does not check-in and denied boarding situations are not covered.
  • Non-refundable hotel rates.
  • Air not purchased from CheapCaribbean.
  • If the number of individuals occupying a room decreases, the remaining travelers will be responsible for additional costs incurred as a result of a change in the per person occupancy rate.
  • No name changes or substitutions on travel protection plans.
  • Cost to change to an alternate scheduled airline as a result of an airline schedule change prior to departure.
  • The cost of the travel protection plan.

How to file a claim: 

  • Pre-Departure Changes/Cancellations Procedures:
    • To make a change to your existing booking or to cancel your vacation prior to departure, please contact our CheapCaribbean team at 1-800-915-2322 no later than one hour prior to your scheduled departure with your name, booking number and date of travel prior to your original flight departure time. 
  • Post-Departure Claim Procedures:
    • For all post-departure travel insurance claims, contact TripMate, Inc. at 1-866-389-5378 or report your claim online at tripmate.com. The Post-Departure Travel Protection Plan also includes the Generali Global Assistance, which provides you with medical consultation and monitoring, medical evacuation, prescription assistance, emergency messaging services to family or friends, travel document and ticket replacement, 24-hour legal assistance and much more.
