Things to Know

  • The resort is only 80 minutes from the airport.
  • Some of the region's most unique historical attractions, including Mayan ruins, Tulum and Xel-Ha, are just 30 minutes away.
  • Maximize your vacay hours by checking pick-up times on scheduled transfers.

Consider this sweet vision: you are on a secluded, sugar-white sand beach embraced by fringy palm trees. Classic Mexican Colonial architecture is on one side and the aquamarine Caribbean is on the other. Your kids set off on a treasure hunt (supervised, of course) while you sort through the many gems at the spa you can melt into. A day trip to the Mayan ruins sounds good for taking in some history, but making family beach history here just might be even better.

    Just okay

Not enough restaurant choices, grounds were unkept. However, service was friendly and nice, rooms were pretty and spacious and the pool bar service was great. The best experience was the Spa. It was luxurious and the service was excellent. It was a fun vacation but the resort was just okay for the money.

    Good resort, great staff!

We visited Tulum in the second week of June. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate during our 3 days vacation. It was pouring rain! Despite that, we had a good time. All the staff worked really hard to make happy hundreds of guests during the tropical storm. They adjusted their activities. We had salsa lessons in one of the covered bars, karaoke nights, and if the rain gave us a break, the aquaerobics or volleyball were on immediately. Victor (entertainment team) made sure we were having the best possible time at the resort. Damian at the pool bar had always a smile ready to give us a piña colada even though was raining. I was not impressed by the “world cafe” buffet style. The food was blah, but the servers were alwats giving you their attention. Tthe specific cuisine restaurants were really good. No complaints there about food quality. One night the storm was so strong that the water was entering through the restaurant shutters. The staff at the Patio restaurant were very creative and managed to accommodate all the people. It was not the vacation we had in mind (plenty of sun and a nice tan line), but we do not regret our stay at the Dreams. If you visit any resort at Tulum and the weather plays a bad card, keep in mind that the staff not always lives close by. Some of them lives an hour / an hour and a half away. Tulum is a beautiful SMALL town. The staff comes from several towns around it. Be kind. They are hardworking people doing their best effort to keep you happy in the most difficult conditions as a tropical/hurricane storm.

    Worst Mexico vacay ever

I’ve traveled to Cancun and Puerto Morales over 2 dozen times. This was my first time in Tulum and first time staying at the Dreams. We went for a wedding. They did a fantastic job with the wedding but the rest of the stay was abysmal. Rooms leaked when it rained. The bathroom ceiling collapsed in my son and daughter in laws room The staff didn’t follow through when simple requests were made. Check in process was horrible. Arrived at 11 am and our room wasn’t ready until 5 pm. And probably the worst part is on the last day, several of us developed stomach cramps and severe diarrhea. I’m home now and it’s still continuing and I am missing work because of it. I will never go back to Tulum nor stay at a Dreams ever again.

    Below my expectations

I’ve been a UVC member for over 10 years and I generally expect the worst and hope for the best but being a member they are certain expectations I have, like not having to wait over an hour and a half pass my check in time, being upgraded (only happened once in all my time as a member) having a welcome member sash on my room door, not having an hour wait each day at the world cafe for breakfast or a 2 hour wait at restaurants because other restaurants were closed during an occasion like Father’s Day weekend, or the biggest part, missing my private transport back to the airport because my bags were picked up late from the room during check out.

This was the worst experience I’ve had at an all-inclusive resort

This experience was by far one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had at an all-inclusive resort. We did our best to make the most of our experience but there was an issue every day that we were there. I am not typically a complainer but for the money spent for preferred club, it was beyond disappointing.
