    Don’t Come This Resort!

The worst all inclusive I ever had. Room AC was not working, no hair dryer, elevator is not working, the food is horrible horrible horrible. Service is awful. Resort is old and small, the pool is small and crowded. Don’t ever ever ever come to this resort.

    Disappointing

While the resort was pretty. Service was somewhat lacking. We were turned away from a special dinner due to lack of seating; however, while we stood nearby deciding what to do for dinner, other guests were seated. We had to take wash cloths from the gym on most days as they were not provided in our room. Several days beach chairs were not available. Drink service was almost non existent. The buffet was lacking foods that were not seafood or pork based. Often food was cold. We’ve been here before and loved it. It’s unlikely we’ll return.

    Very Disappointed - My Wedding

My husband became upset with them on the first night due to their stalking behavior. Despite addressing the issue, they repeated it again. He got frustrated, and only then did they stop. They were standing outside our unit door, silently lurking around the walls. Whenever we noticed them and looked their way, they'd quickly run off. They claimed they were doing it to "keep the guests safe," but it felt uncomfortable, and we found ourselves whispering throughout the entire time. They followed us down the hallways. My husband left for a couple hours and gave his room number as they ask for when you do, I stayed in the room, and then got three strange calls with no one on the other line every 15 minutes to the point I felt unsafe there, like they were seeing if anyone was in our suite. No one was on the other end when I would answer. Fernanda was the coordinator, but it was clear she was very inexperienced in her role and was quite ineffective. She admitted that she hadn’t realized the same fire dance show was happening that night. which included loud music and constant sound tests throughout the night. It was disruptive, especially during dinner. To make matters worse, they were taking videos of my guests leaving their seats, seemingly to cover themselves when people started leaving the wedding early. When I spoke with the front desk and Fernanda, both promised me things would be handled with Bali beds etc but when I returned later to book, they denied making any such promises, with Fernanda standing by the other staff's position. She avoided me. I wanted money back and she said her room upgrade was enough. And that we got the preferred club which was a small little pool I would never actually spend money on. As for the wedding, the planner Fernanda was extremely unhelpful. I had sent multiple emails with a detailed sheet for the wedding vows we wanted to say, as my husband has a speech disability, and some words are difficult for him. Even though the planner had the sheet, when it came time for the ceremony, they only made me repeat the vows we made and not my husband. Instead, he was asked to say something else entirely, which completely ruined the experience for him. I ended up having to coordinate everything on the day of the wedding, while the staff mostly stood around. The transitions were not smooth, and the entire experience was far from what we had hoped for. As for the honeymoon suite, it was practically identical to the standard room, only with a smaller bed and an outdoor tub. We also have a photo of the broken plug. There was also no nightlife to speak of, so if you wanted to relax with a drink anywhere after a certain time, the staff acted strangely, even if you were quiet. One of the biggest complaints from my group was that no drinks were served after 1 PM, despite what was stated on the website. I had made sure to confirm this when we booked, and I had assumed everything was clear, but this caused some frustration. Security comment - all the doors could be opened, we tried our friends too, using any card/ credit card.

    Would not go back.

Let me start by saying we did have a great time on our trip and the facilities were great. The problem we had was service. All of the employees were nice, but they were extremely understaffed and it showed in our service. The bed was amazing, and we really enjoyed the room. We have no complaints about this. We got the premier package upgrade expecting it to elevate our trip. This was a disappointing "upgrade". We should have had champagne in our room upon arrival - there was none. We were supposed to have liquor/snacks in our room that would be refilled everyday - this was only refilled once when we complained. There is supposed to be daily turndown service - we only got turndown service once when we complained and it was only one night. The other biggest disappointment was food. One day we were on the beach and ordered drinks/food. They only had 1 guy serving about 100 people on the beach. It took over half hour to get our drinks. And the food was frozen food that wasn't even warmed all the way. We tried going to a restaurant to eat dinner that night and was told that it was over half hour wait. So we went to a different restaurant on campus and that had the same wait time. They do not allow you to make reservations for dinner, but do not have enough seating to accommodate everyone. When we ordered food at the sit down restaurant it took an hour to get food and the food was cold. Even at the buffet, the food was cold before you could make it back to your table. None of the food we ate on campus tasted good. We left campus 3 times for dinner because the food situation was so bad. Which is very disappointing when you pay for an all inclusive. We did enjoy our trip overall, however I would never return to this resort. The lower price point was not worth it.

A memorable stay with everything you could ever ask for

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya resort, located within the gated community of Puerto Aventuras, about an hour away from Tulum International Airport, was the perfect getaway for sun-starved vacationers. Our stay here was excellent, and had everything we could ever ask for: spacious room, friendly staff, good food, countless activities within the resort that kept us entertained during our stay here. 1. Room: the room we were assigned was spacious and quite stylish and modern, with a balcony overlooking the marina. However, we had some issues with the room, but Jesus, the supervisor at the front desk quickly amended the situation and we were moved to another room right away. This was great customer service. 2. Staff: the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and were very attentive in every way possible. From the bellboy (Jorge - who was incredibly helpful and informative), to the receptionists, waiters, the best entertainment team (shoutout to Christian who made us feel so welcomed and engaged, as well as Karla who taught us how to make guacamole and Itzayana), to the staff at the cafe, this resort's best asset is their excellent staff! 3. Food: Food was plentiful, and although it's a smaller selection compared to other resorts I've been to, it was pretty good quality for an all-inclusive resort. I wouldn't say the food was mind-blowing by any means, but it was decent. We ate almost exclusively at the World Cafe, which is a buffet and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, we did try the Italian restaurant, Portofino, once where the service was absolutely impeccable. The food was also pretty decent. I had the pasta while my husband had the chicken (highly recommend this, I stole my husband's food). There was also an option to order food from the app to be delivered to the room, but we never tried this. There are also a snack bars if you feel snackish in between meals: one inside the building and one located close to the beach/pool area. 4. Activities/Entertainment: The entertainment team had some of the best staff -- engaging, extroverted, young people who did their best to provide great activities from morning to evening such as yoga, kayaking/paddleboarding, zumba, aquazumba, volleyball, pickleball, etc. Every night, we were never bored. My favourite was the fire show by the beach and the Caribbean show. They also had Mexican Festival Night which was quite special as we were serenaded by traditional Mexican music and dance, while we dined by the beach. 5. Beach and Swimming Pool: The beach area was pretty to look at, but we did not really get a chance to swim as we found the beach too rocky and small. We did do kayaking and paddleboarding which were great, but we preferred swimming in the pool for the most part. The pool is almost always full though by mid-morning until afternoon, so best to go early to secure your spot. 6. Puerto Aventuras: What I love about this resort is that you are able to get out of the resort to explore the picturesque Puerto Aventuras community. We walked the length of the marina and checked out the many shops. The following day, we decided to rent the resort's golf cart and while it was quite expensive, it was worth it for us as we got to explore the town and get back to the resort for a meal or bathroom break. We had my mom with us, so the golf cart really came in handy. We were pleasantly surprised with the dolphins right in the middle of the plaza! Thank you Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya for unforgettable memories and stay! Hope to be back again one day.
