Paradise!
Wonderful piece of Caribbean paradise with lovely staff! Belkis Mejia who looked after us at the infinity pool was amazing! A lot of cocktails to work off now! 😊 This is our favourite hotel in the Dominican Republic! Our 5th visit here & we will be back next year. The only feedback is the acoustics in Sakura restaurant need sorting and music round the pool could be a bit more chilled at times. Needs more of an Ibiza vibe but small things and after 10 days here we could have stayed another month!

Disappointed - should have been special, it wasn't
Disappointed overall, not ruined but the service took the shine off what should have been special. Overall the hotel was nice and the grounds beautiful. The food was generally good but occasionally poor (had a fish dish that was clearly repeat re-heated). We paid for premium as it was a 40th wedding anniversary visit. It took 4 notifications before they acted . Our room snacks/drinks weren't replenished for 3-days despite asking, our broken hairdryer was replaced with a broken one, the premium pool bar service was significantly inferior to the regular pool and the nearby toilets were shut making you visit the non-premium pool's. Staff were polite but surprised by how many had poor/no English and they missed chances to be helpful (example: they don't do packed lunches for trips but also didn't advise visiting a specific bar which does take-out sandwiches/drinks so we had to find that ourselves). Just felt their communication wasn't premium.

La Romana Secrets/Dreams Hyatt
We had a wonderful time at this resort! Hear me the infinity pool overlooking the beach has been said to be one of the best in all of the Dominican Republic. I have also experienced both the Punta Cana beaches and the La Romana beaches and I prefer the La Romana beach because it’s calmer and more the Caribbean vibe . There were plenty of restaurants to choose from for breakfast. We went to the breakfast buffet, which had a lot of choices, for lunch. We usually chose to hang out on the beach and they had barbecue, a french fry station and tacos each day. we woke up around 6:30 and went to the pool to save our chairs at the pool. Then we went to breakfast at the buffet then we attended Zumba class on the beach. They had other water sports in the pool. They also offered Yoga and a Boot Camp type class on the family side, which is dreams the staff was amazing. They were so sweet always very helpful. Even Maintenance men would go out of their way to help you with a piece of luggage. Everyone said hello and always helped with a smile. The service was outstanding. The resort was very clean. The staff was constantly cleaning the bathrooms and cleaning the pool and picking up trash and just felt really nice. The entertainment team was fabulous. They always try to get people involved in the various activities and they were very enthusiastic. The poolside dance classes were a lot of fun! a special shout out to Esteban, Maria, David, Gregory, William, Yuliana, Yuery, Yulieta, Ernesto, Gerry, Yamelin, Double D, and anyone I forgot to mention on the entertainment staff, they truly were the life of the party and just really engaging! Every day I went to the coffee shop on the secret side and was always greeted with smiles and great service by Rosaury, Rosa, Monica, Veronica, and Marileydi at the Tres Hermana Cafe. Gregory and Yamelin were the bartenders at Chinola and served great cocktails with a smile. Really all of the staff was excellent. Another shout out should go to all the bartenders at the Infiniti pools swim up Bar those guys worked hard. The ladies who went around cocktail wage thing were also super friendly and stopped by regularly to see if we needed anything. Also of note was their nicely outfitted gym. Although I never visited it because I was too busy doing Zumba, paddle boarding and playing pickle ball and tennis. I noticed how well equipped it was overall if you want a relaxing vacation with good food good vibes, and plenty of wellness options, Secrets/Dreams La Romana is your place! I should also mention security was top notch, and we never felt unsafe. The private beach is also key as there were no vendors trying to sell anything to you.

Excellent Dominican Republic Resort Experience
Wow! I had the amazing opportunity to come here with my mother and we had the best time. Everything at this resort was top-notch, from the gorgeous pool and beach, to the delicious restaurant dinner options. We loved eating at Noor & Sakura especially. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly, it felt like we always had everything we needed. This place has something for everyone, whether you are looking for activities or relaxation or a bit of both! We played tennis & pickleball, and also used paddle boards, all included with the resort. Everything was fabulous and I would recommend this place to anyone! Special thanks to the staff who made our experience so incredibly special, including Esteban, Maria, David, William, Yuliana, Yeury, Yulieta, Gregory, Yamelin, Freddy, Rene, Ernesto, Veronica, Monica, Rosa, Perez, Marileydi, & Pablo Picasso!!!!
- AdvisoryDreams La Romana is under renovations and expected to be complete by November 20, 2025, including upgrades to Spices Buffet (A/C installation and walkway), rebranding of the French Restaurant to Southwest with alternate dining arrangements, and construction of a covered walkway connecting the lobby restrooms to the main corridor.
