Second time going!

This resort is just amazing. Everything is pristine and well kept. The staff is so nice and courteous! The pools were beautiful. The only thing I would like to see different is to have the pools open later as they close at 6pm.

Good vacation

Enjoyed our 7 nights here! However, we did have a huge problem with mosquitoes in our room despite asking the front desk to spray the room. We killed at least 5 bugs each time we walked into the room (3-4x/day) every day. The restaurants were a little disappointing - the food was amazing, but 3 of the restaurants were Asian themed, and the Italian was impossible to book. The Rodizzio steak house wasn't our favorite - the beef tenderloin was actually hard to eat. The luxury side has a tiny lagoon beach with waters up to the depth of your knees. The regular Grand Bahia side has a larger lagoon but it is still shallow. If you took a golf cart to the other side of the resort (to the Village side), there is a MUCH better, bigger, and deeper beach. Walking would take 20 minutes. It was also almost impossible to get a waiter/waitress to bring you a drink poolside or on the beach without tipping each time (if you didn't have cash, they would not bring you a drink, and if you did not give more than $2 the first time, they would not return to you). Even our drivers to and from the resort demanded tipping (would not leave your side til you forked over some cash). We love playing beach volleyball, and the sand court unfortunately had a lot of rocks and concrete underneath. I scraped my knees and feet, along with 4 or 5 other people, while playing. Overall, it didn't seem worth it to pay extra for the "luxury" part, as there wasn't that much added. It seemed there were only 2 or 3 extra restaurants that were adult only and it felt like we were eating Asian food almost every other night. We took golf carts to the Village almost every day so it seemed it would be better off to stay over on that side of the resort (despite being farther away from the restaurants) rather than the luxury side.

Wonderful honeymoon

My husband and I booked this for our honeymoon it’s was beautiful! We just put in the comments when booking king bed requested it’s our honeymoon and they went above and beyond that request! Not only did we get a king bed we got a honeymoon sign on the door, rose petals on the bed and Champaign in our room! The room was great we could see the beach and the water. Along with one of the pools. We booked an excursion. Only thing I recommend is bring water shoes some of the beach and water are rocky. Also book your al cart dinners when you get there the times fill up fast! Overall loved this place can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful and relaxing vacation!

Just came back from 5 days at this resort with my boyfriend and we both loved it! The beach on the luxury side is smaller than the other/village side and enclosed by rocks but it was somewhat of a blessing since the water looked rough at times on the other side of the rocks. It’s a little shallow but does get deeper in some areas and found it relaxing to sit in the water with our drinks! Beach waitress comes around occasionally for drinks but there is a bar not too far. Got reservations to 3 restaurants for our 5 day stay and our favorite was the new restaurant The Knife although enjoyed the others also. Only negatives was room service does take quite some time if ordering food (1-2 hours) and housekeeping was a little inconsistent (I.e, minifridge not always restocked, didn’t get new waters when we had empty bottles and only had 1 coffee mug for 2 of us initially although did end up receiving a 2nd upon request). The robes were a little gross looking and noticed some stains so didn’t use those but the slippers were clean. Nothing too major as the room overall was quite clean and housekeeping did a great job ensuring it was clean throughout our stay. Only other negative on the room is lack of outlets especially for a newer building. We had to unplug either the lamp, coffee maker, alarm clock and use those outlets for charging phones, etc. From the restaurant and buffet waiters/waitresses to the bartenders and spa specialists the service was overall excellent and the staff really do what they could to ensure you’re having a great time. Hotel was beautiful on both sides and loved having the village with shops, sports bar/casino and club. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation that also boosts entertainment then the luxury stay is very much worth it!

What's to Love

It's an all-inclusive, all-fabulous Beach Bliss Fest.

The evening turn down service, bathrobe and slippers in the room & butler service.

Sipping cocktails, living large, on the private beach.

Getting one free hour of kayaking, paddle surfing, snorkeling & catamaraning.

What We'd Change

Parts of the beach are rocky, but if you bring some water shoes, you'll get to walk around and enjoy those parts of the beach, too.

Why You Should Go

It's 75 minutes from Mobay airport. Patience, young jellyfish. You'll be beaching soon.

Bring your water shoes - parts of the beach are a bit pebble-y.

Before your flight home, hit Club Mobay at the airport for A/C, drinks and lots of spoiling.

Bob Marley's home and the famous Dunn's River Falls are nearby and well worth a visit.
