Firstly, Jamaica is beautiful - as are the people and this hotel. Our experience here was sightly odd as the pandemic was just getting a grip on reality and everyone was becoming anxious about what they were returning home too. HOWEVER - the staff at the Bahia smiled through it all despite, I'm sure, feeling the nerves themselves. I cannot thank them enough for the professionalism and kindness they showed to give us the break we had hoped for. Everyone from the waiting staff, reception, bar staff, entertainment team & maids were outstanding. The beach is small but beautiful, pool area is great, beautiful food in the buffet and the a la carte restaurants and a clean and friendly hotel. Taxi drivers licensed to the hotel were also brilliant (Mervin in particular!). I would love to come back to Jamaica and to the Bahia in the very near future when the madness has stopped. I genuinely hope the staff are OK through this difficult time and cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and smiles - it meant a lot.
What a beautiful place to relax. The entire staff and management are top notch. Very eager to please and make your vacation a memorable one. The food and drinks were very good as well. Do not hesitate to visit the beautiful Bahia.
Great Holiday with Little Deficites
In general, we had a great holiday. We had a choice of 4 restaurants and one romantic diner (extra charge). Also the buffet restaurant was good. We had a good beach. One part was nudist beach, but it was aside far from the hotel, but inside the territory. There were different bars on the beach, even in the last corner. There were several shops inside the hotel, which have not been much overpriced in comparism to the shops in the city. The rooms were big and clean. It also was possible to go outside and reach a supermarket after a 15 minutes walk. One thing, I really complain is, that this hotel is combined with a luxury resort, so you always feel like a second class guest, if you stay in the ordinary part. Especially in the pool, as half of the pool was reserved for luxury guests and the rest of the pool was a bit small for so many guests. The pool was clean. There was also a nice Spa center. One thin really was disturbig me, was the loud music in the lobby from 6 am. Free Wifi was only available in the lobby.
We are very well travelled on the all inclusive front and never set high expectations when coming away as then you may get disappointed. This is the fourth Bahia hotel we have visited and after doing research before booking we realised that there was no need to book the luxury part and all facilities were mostly over the grand side and we never had no issues with using the luxury facilities. We travel the same month every year to the Caribbean and have come to expect the spring breakers. As long as you can take them with a pinch of salt it is actually quite entertaining sitting down and watching them. Now on to the hotel. Buffet- great selection all day every day. Never got bored of the choice especially needing gluten free produce. Restaurants- don pablo was our favourite, Italian was our least however, was served with a smile every-time. Beach restaurant- the best food here and the most amazing hard work staff! Beach- relaxing, water was amazing. Walk that little bit longer go past the kids area all the way round it is totally worth it. Tui reps- okkkk, book trips with the hotels travel guides it is much cheaper, less on your transport and more personable. We done the 9 mile, Dunn’s falls and negril with ricks cafe all amazing. Rooms- adequate, very comfy bed, hot good pressured shower and amazing sea view. Go to Jamaica the people and culture are amazing! Yes you will get offered a smoke simply say no but do not get offended it is their culture. Try asking the staff how they are for a change, you will be better received. You then will make friends no tips expected. You pay an interest into them they will return the favour. I am an operations manager working in a famous large hotel in the U.K. and would hundred percent recommend this place. Jamaica we will be back next year but may give negril a try much more going on around the area.
Just come back from the Grand Bahri, location amazing, staff excellent and pleasant. Rooms spacious and very clean. Food all good. Japanese tapinaki amazing entertaining and tasty. Italian not so good. Don Pablo excellent. Japanese excellent. Buffet, lots on offer to suit everybody. Though the lobster off the sea raft bbq was not to be missed. $25 but well worth it. The only negative was the noise during the night, room 16119 bit like slip road off a motorway junction. Reception informed and that night was quieter but after that went back to normal. Would return if could guarantee quieter room. Would be excellent for younger people as they were the ones screaming all night. Disco out at 2am so by half past all awake.
