Look somewhere else
Booked 5 nights but stayed only 1. The lobby is nice but that’s about it. It’s very dated and unkept everywhere else. We went at a time when there are barely any tourists in Cancun overall. They had plenty of rooms available but they put us in the worse possible one. It had a funny smell, like rotten eggs (plumbing issues?). The food is very bad. There were maybe 6 other rooms booked on our floor, maybe, but some occupants were so loud, yelling in the hallway until past midnight. When we left the front desk person had the nerve to say ‘I don’t think you’ll find room anywhere else’ 😂 we booked at the Westin 10 minutes later and had a fantastic time-where we got a free upgrade to a balcony ocean front bc that’s how you really run a hotel in a pandemic when tourists are coming in at maybe 20% of what they used to! Other staff seamed nice and friendly. Would not recommend
Great location but noisy
Hotel is right by the beach and also close to nearby bars & shops. With those also come the noise from the bars which can go on till early morning. Room is big. Everything is chargeable in the room (coffee, water, etc). Do check the mini bar items when you first check in. We found a pouch of our coffee torn opened but housekeeping staff felt it ok to leave it as it is. We notified reception so that we will not be charged and yet the pouch was not replaced the next day. But we were not charged for it. Room was extremely cold. Thermostat can't be adjusted. So it's just on or off. Breakfast spread was good and the restaurant area is spacious and clean. We read many bad reviews beforehand but I must say it turned out better than expected.
Hello! While this hotel has a nice location, that is about it. The clubs are right next door and the loud music sometimed started at 9:00 am and lasted until 4:00 in the morning! It is so loud that it shakes the walls of the hotel. The facilities are old and outdated. The beds are sagging and uncomfortable. The AC worked intermittently. There was no hot water during the day and it would completely shut off at 12:00 am. The showers flooded the bathroom as there was hardly no barrier between the bathroom floor and the shower itself. The elevators stopped working intermittently and sometimes only one working at a time. The room keys sometimes stopped working and you would need to get them reset at the lobby. But this isn't the worst thing about our experience. We had to change rooms three times during our stay due to "construction issues." Two of the rooms had barely working AC and we were so hot we couldn't sleep. If you want a luxury vacation or even half way decent, this isn't for you.
Vacation which turn to be extremely disappointing due to Hotel staffs
I don’t recommend this Hotel call Kristal Cancún , in Cancún Mexico to anyone!!! From the time we arrived to the time we checked out all was straggling, bad service, most but not all rude customer service from employees, from Front Desk all the way to waiter, waitress, bartenders and management. Our trips was all inclusive even tips and everything paid for means we paid extra money. First night we arrived I asked front desk representative with kind and nice manner that we requested two individuals beds!! First; he started if we wanted two beds, we have to pay each night $46.00 American Dollars each. Then he was very short about other questions I had. Second when we start to have food they didn’t give us any assistance. I could see two of their restaurants were empty not to many customers but when I asked to be dine in any of those restaurants they said you have to have reservations which I respect the idea but at 8:30pm, with two or three customers in restaurants which can hold 100 and they denied us!! Why? I don’t know? Then they direct us to outside to have food. When we arrived outside it was so windy that I could not believe my eyes that all foods no tops to protect foods from dust getting on Foods. When I told them about food it’s not safe to eat they said you can have Room Service. We got to our room to order room service with in mind everything paid for it and we don’t need to pay extra money. But we were wrong!! Why? First it took me few attempts to get hold of them( I was forced to call front desk to connect me to room service) . When we had connected to room service every food I asked on the menu they said they don’t have it!why? No good reason we don’t have it, it took them to deliver the food one hour !! Believe it one hour. On top of it, they forced us to pay mandatory $4.90 American Dollars TIPS. I asked them why ? Again no good answer. Either you have to pay or you don’t get your food. Please don’t forget that I am not stingy but it’s matter of principle, respect what they promised us which we paid up front not to have this kind of issue. Honestly if they had delivered my food to my room it’s my habit to pay tips as of say:”Thank you” !! But forcing me either pay for the tips or you don’t get it !!! It is upsetting!! I can go on and on. Every day it was a challenged for us to get proper Food, or get good service. No good welcoming personality. I don’t know what we had down wrong. We were their to have our vacation which turned to be disaster. Can you believe it we were Blamed for not paying for our drinks? With wrest band we had on our wrest indicating we can get certain drinks not all kind of drinks!! What happened bartender accused us trying to cheat and brought security Gard right in front of other people sitting at the bar to pay for it . I , immediately asked for manager and it took us 30 minutes for him to showed up. And finally he apologized because it was bartender fault not checking our room number . What do you think? If it was you would you still wanted stay in this Hotel call: KRISTAL CANCÚN IN CANCÚN MEXICO? You’ll be the judge of it. As I said:”No All”. Only one waitress was nice and hope she can survive in this Hotel: her name was YAZMIN. She was very nice , friendly, smiles all the time. I wished the rest would picked up from her and followed her lead how to treat customers.
Justo gave us the best service I have ever had. He made this trip my favorite trip ever with his above and beyond service. He was so nice and caring but at the same time making sure we have the best experience we can have. I would highly recommend coming to Krystal just because of Justo. He deserves a raise!!
