  Damond club worth the extra $

  Seven day trip under the diamond club at the Royalton Negril. Overall, we have a great stay. At the diamond club bar we received top-notch service from Mackeisha, Tashane, and Sherry. Mackeisha went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied and assisted my 79 year old mother daily. Jermaine one of our butlers was also top notch , whenever and whatever we asked, he was always helpful and kind. The main concern that we had is that everything is done on island time which means if you ask or needed something, it may take an hour. There is no rush there by some other staff. We did order the room service one time and never received it after spending about four hours in room just waiting. The only other thing that I would mention, and this will hopefully be read by management is that there needs to be more handrails on your stairways or ramp areas for those with limited mobility. My 79 year old mother struggled to get up and down the stairs where there are steps because of lack of hand railings and is not steady on her feet at all times also on the ramps, those are great if you are in a wheelchair, but there is no rail for the elderly or others. Yoga with Kavi was a beautifully led experience on rooftop area.

  The most beautiful part of Jamaica are the people

  I visited for a week with my mom and we had such an amazing time! The rooms were comfortable, stocked and well serviced- we opted for the swim up room at the Hideaway and I'm so glad we did, what a wonderful way to always remain close to the party and still be able to easily pop to the room. The bar and vibe team there really made our experience special. Jace, Devene and Prince on the vibe team brought so much fun to our time there, with games karaoke and even a foam party, they made it truly unforgettable! Tameka and Chick Pea at the bar made us feel welcomed, included and never thirsty for our entire stay. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough! The food was wonderful and I enjoyed all of the social gatherings as well as the offered excursions. Our favorite part of the visit was so of the beautiful people we met. Thank you!!

  Tropical beauty

  Aquafit with Garrison at Royalton Negril is a must-try! This high-energy water fitness class offers an perfect opportunity to workout and stay active while on vacation. The class was in the Royalton pool and Garrison brought great vibe to the session.

  Poorly managed and not 5 star

  This is our first trip to Jamaica and prior to our arrival we read the reviews and were a bit concerned on what to expect. We loved Jamaica but would I stay at the Royalton again? Doubtful. Here’s why.. We stayed at the Royalton for ten nights with our two daughters in two standard rooms in building 2. Which is a great spot for peace and quiet, a bit of a walk to the amenities but we didn’t mind that. We were really impressed with our ocean view rooms and the size of them. There is no denying that view. It really is stunning. But the air con is hit and miss. Our daughter’s room had great air con but ours was very weak and our ceiling fan was very noisy. We also struggled to open the balcony doors in our room as they were so stiff. Showers are just ok. Only one shower head worked and the water takes a while to warm but it’s ok. The rooms are a bit tired and upkeep is a bit slap/dash, but no major room faults. Housekeeping was fine. We didn’t experience any problems booking up restaurants for the duration of our stay but the dining experience was far from 5 star. Frequently the hotel runs out of menu items, drink items and make no apology for it. The service is slow and unprofessional. You actually feel like it’s a chore for staff to serve you at times. The food truck is a joke. The queues can be 1/2 hour long and when you finally get to place your order.. guess what.. they’ve run out of what you wanted. Same can be said for the Sports Bar. Coffee shop is ok. They never seemed to have any smoothies and unable to tell us when they would be available. Ran out of bags, cup lids.. the list goes on and the staff don’t seem to smile much. At first, it’s not as much of a big deal but as your holiday continues, it becomes really frustrating. You actually end up asking what’s not available before you order anything to save time and disappointment. You need to be up early to secure a spot around the pool but there seemed to be beds at the beach anytime of the day and the beach is gorgeous. I think it comes down to what you expect from a 5 star resort based on your own previous experiences. Personally I expect a five star resort to ensure staff are trained well in customer service and food and beverage stock provision is maintained so menu items don’t run out. This hotel relies on its location, it’s beautiful but it doesn’t meet 5 star standards. The reviews are fairly accurate by and large. So adjust expectations accordingly if you choose to stay here.

  Don't do it!!!

  Checked in 3 hours ago and I'm on my 2nd room. 3 words. DON'T. DO. IT. This is our 2nd and last stay here. How this resort has fallen off this much in less than 3 years is beyond comprehension. Id give it a strong 3 stars. Diamond and presidential should be removed. The first room was dusty and dirty. The elevator looked like he hadnt been cleaned in weeks! Words were etched in the dust on the wall. The 2nd building was much better but the room still had hair in the tub and both rooms smell badly. The resort is literally being held together by duct tape. If I weren't traveling with kids id leave. Ill update this review at the end of our stay. I have zero expectations that it'll get better.
