DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

The Melia Braco village was the one of the worst all inclusive hotels we have ever been. At first the major thing is there is no way to swim in the ocean because of very rocky bottom of the sea and not deep enough ( every where the water was under my knee). The second major issue was food! Very, very poor buffet for 5 star hotel..., just basic food and not seafood at all. Two days buffet was closed at all at the dinner hours.., we have no idea where to go to eat because all others restaurants required to make a reservation before except “Rasta Pasta”(that has only pasta and pizza which I and my husband don’t like) . We went to the reception to ask where we supposed to eat? The reception girl solved this by booking a table at Steak House for us. We were really angry... This situation is really unacceptable for the 5 stars all inclusive hotel. Also, the reception looks like a besement... Very dissatisfied, waste our money and time. If you like swim and the good food than DO NOT GO TO THE Melia Braco Village!

Don’t go there

Stayed in Melia with my wife last week. We chose this resort because of 93% recommendations and villa style buildings right on the beach. So I’ll start from what we liked there: 1. Nice room with sea view about 30 meters from water. 2. Quiet place, not many people, you can lay on the beach almost wherever you want. 3. Good service, good steak house . 4. Really liked beach party on Wednesday, good food, good music. Now what we didn’t like: 1. Lobby- looks like cheap motel lobby ( 5 star hotel, really?) 2. You can’t swim in the sea!!! Rocky bottom, sea plants and shallow water - nobody is swimming there! This was major disappointment. We didn’t fly so far to sit in the pool. 3. Food choice was poor in the buffet, no steaks, no seafood.... Buffet was closed on weekend, we didn’t know that, they offered us to go in one of three open restaurants. We went to Rasta Pasta- there was a line of people and we had to wait. Asian required reservation, so we had to wait as well, it was full, steak house required long pants which I didn’t have, so we were hungry in a 5 star resort- never happened to us before!!! They let us go to steak house, which is pretty good. No 24/7 snacks like in other hotels. We payed 3500 for a week to swim in the sea and eat a good food- and we didn’t get what we wanted. We stayed in RIU and IBEROSTAR before for the same money and we really enjoyed staying there. Never coming back to Melia again !!!

Short getaway

The resort is in a very nice location, the beaches and pools are great as well as the architecture of the buildings.Unfortunately the buildings and rooms at the Level show a lot off wear and tear. Our shower trim was broken and we did not have hot water for the whole timer. The filters in the AC was filthy ,after we complained they replaced them and fixed the shower handle, but could not solve the hot water issue.Talking to other level guests, they had the same issue. The staff was super friendly and pampered us.Dining options were not really great, since it was off season so there was not always everything available. The new GM has a lot to do, to bring the Level section up to speed again. Overall our stay was a pleasant one, thanks to the outstanding staff this resort has.

What's to Love

Fancy new duds throughout the resort that create that stylish level of lavishness you want.

A private beach where the views are endless and the beach bartender already knows your name and your favorite cocktail.

You can keep your beach bod looking svelte with a session or two with one of the on-site trainers at the fitness center.

Traveling with the fam? Perfect, because Kids & Co. will take care of the young tykes - they want to have a little fun time, too.

Vegging out at the spa with a beachside massage - leaving the beach would require too much effort - remember it's your vacay!

What We'd Change

You'll be in the quiet Trelawny Parish which doesn't have the nightlife like the Hip Strip in Montego Bay, but you're here to relax on your vacation and with this location, you're close to many of Jamaica's best tourist stops - like Dunn's River Falls.

Why You Should Go

The resort is away from the hustle and bustle of Montego Bay - you're drive is about 45 minutes from the airport and oh, so worth it once you arrive.

The Adventure Park has all kinds of fun activities - zip lining, rock climbing & trampolines.

You're close to some of Jamaica's favorite spots to see - Green Grotto Caves, Luminous Lagoon, Dunn's River Falls and Dolphin Cove & you'll find an excursion desk on-site to help you plan all your adventures.

On those nights when you'd rather enjoy dinner on your balcony (and in your jammies) then 24-hour room service will be your thang.
