We went to AVA resort in October 2026 for our family vacation. It is a great resort, this was our second time and we highly recomend this place. Their service is great. I would like to thank our butlers Dorian and Hector. They were all the time available for us for anything we needed at the resort. Thank you, we will be back again.

Positive that it's near the airport but the ocean water is chocolate milk. You can use the vast pool area if you want the aroma of vented sewage and the likelihood of diarrhea from unsanitary conditions both in the water and with the food. Upon arrival, the entrance is less extravagant as one would expect being a "luxury" resort. The floors have been cleaned or polished in the 2 years of existence. The ceilings leak, holes in both the ceilings and walls, peeling wallpaper and marks all over the walls. Heading to the room you experience the lasting musty smell evident of mold which continues to follow you like bad old lady perfume. Much of the same in the rooms with the balcony furniture and jacuzzi tub screaming to be cleaned for two years. Now onto the food: Buffet is exactly what one would expect The Butcher was absolutely terrible. Overcooked steak that we under flavored and tough like the bottom of your show and octopus that tasted like absolutely nothing. Miriam was a plus for hibachi still eating with a limited menu and fabulous adult beverages. Wish it was an adults only restaurant as tired kids and ignorant parents ruined your dinner. Bao was an adults only restaurant with different twists on Asian food and sushi. It was tasty but not knock your socks off. Black Iron was 90% on point. Shrimp cooked perfectly, bone marrow amazing, sides were ok. It seemed prepared in bulk and kept under a heat light only to be shoved out with the main course. My biggest issue was the steak and tenderloin. On the positive it was cooked and seasoned perfectly as well as tender. However, when your steak arrives cut into pieces because the kitchen lacks the ability to utilize a thermometer to check the level of medium rare its disappointing to say the least. In closing, AVA needs to hire professional chefs and if they have them they need to be fired. The maintenance team needs to address a laundry list of issues. With a resort of this size, a maintenance manager capable of leading is urgently needed before it falls apart. This property is a disgrace for only being 2 years old. Other positives, all staff spoke English and service was great. The staff tried extremely hard to make your experience the best possible.

A++++++ Service and Experience
I’m not one to leave reviews but I have to talk about the incredible service we received on our recent visit to AVA. I can honestly say that Hector and Dorian were the best butlers we had in all of our trips to the Hard Rock, Unico, AVA, and Nobu resorts. They left a huge impression on our family. Will request them when we go back. Side note … the food was amazing. We can’t stop talking about it. The service at each restaurant was top notch as well. Can’t wait to go back.
