Great location, food and amenities needs updating

The team was very nice. However, the rooms need updating (bring your own shampoo, conditioner, Qtips, and other items usually provided by reputable hotels). The beach towels and chairs need to be changed (not sure how long they have been using them). The food is not that great, the veggies are tasteless and the “formal dinner” should be a buffet (since it’s far from fine dining) and usually just a big miss. It’s OK (similar to basic diner) but should be better for the price we paid (more than $450 a night) There are a lot of nearby hotels that you can visit to get some good food and wine. The wine is very cheap and not drinkable The team is very nice and accommodating! The beach is all you need - clean clear and welcoming. We didn’t even try the pool....

STAY AWAY!!!!

This was the worst resort ever. My wife and I arrived on a Wednesday and the issues began at the airport. We had round-trip transportation scheduled and when we arrived, they couldn't find our names. After 20 minutes or so, they were able to straighten it out and we were taken to the resort. When we arrived, we immediately noticed that the resort looked nothing like the pictures. It is very old, worn down, and in dire need of upgrades and remodeling. The reception committee was nice and receptive, check-in was easy. When we got to our room, we were very disappointed. We were supposed to have a King-sized bed and we did. However, they pushed two full-sized beds together. There was a visible seam in the middle and at night, the beds would separate. The resort provides only one bar and one restaurant. You have to make reservations to eat lunch and dinner at the restaurant and if you miss your reservations, you are on your own. The bar opened at 10: a.m. and closed each night at midnight. If you like to stay up late and mingle at the bar, that won't happen there. Not to mention, the liquor selection is the WORST!!! No top-shelf liquor options are provided at the resort. Ronald was the senior bartender and he provided excellent customer service. He spoke, prepared your drinks as requested, and has a great sense of humor. Dario on the other hand, was unresponsive and downright rude. He never acknowledged my Wife and I when we sat at the bar. On a few occasions, he would serve people who came after we did. The beach was nice and was a short walk away from our room, we did enjoy that. could have been cleaner but there were so many children running around, it was impossible to keep it clean. There were several times when small children were unsupervised around the pool and this made my wife and I very nervous. We even found ourselves playing unofficial guardians to these children. My wife and I have children however, there were too many on this resort. The noise and crowds began early in the morning and went on into the early evening. This made it hard to relax and enjoy what little bit of time we had. This experience was so bad, my wife and I paid the extra money to fly back home, two days early. That's how bad it was. And to close, we adjusted our departure transportation arrangements which was confirmed by Johnson's transportation. Monday morning came and no one showed up to take us to the airport. My wife and I spent $100 on a taxi so w the airport and catch our flight. This was the worst travel experience ever and ope that Cheap Caribbean removes this resort.

Such An Awesome Hotel!

Mango Bay is a very cozy hotel located in a very quiet area yet easily accessible. It is so well organized and provided me what I needed to make my stay very relaxed. You are literally steps away from the beach as well as the pool. Entertainment was available on some nights if you’re in the mood for live singing and the sweet sounds of the steel pan. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable such as Pedro, a restaurant manager who saw that all guests feel welcomed. At the restaurant you are normally seated outside with a lovely view of the beach. You also have the option of sitting inside which provides a nice ambiance. Some evenings they offer a lovely buffet. Others you are seated restaurant style with your choice on the main menu, switching it up so it is never mundane, and the food is excellent. The hotel room was very clean. I was always asked if I needed anything as fresh towels. Mango Bay is close to public transportation which was important to me so I can get to Bridgetown on my own. Buses and vans run along the route of the hotel. I only had to walk one block away and I got a ride within minutes. There are restaurants and upscale boutiques, a supermarket which line the nearby main street. I loved this hotel and it will be my first choice when I return to Barbados.

Awesome family style resort

If you are looking huge resort chain - this is not place for you; This is a laid back, family style, recreational resort with majority of repeat customers (mostly Brits) The rooms could use a little bit modernization(hence only 4?stars) but the service few times a day and friendly atmosphere compensates for that; food is mostly a la carte; fancy; no buffets -!guys make sure to have collar shirts; Beach is to die for; Artificial reef has tens of tropical fish if u snrokle; no need for trips; They offer compimentary excursions: catamaran cruise and glass bottom boat( did i say free?;) Also bunch of overpriced restaurants are right outside and a Massy stores (supermarket for that Caribbean treats) I’d rate it almost 5 stars.

Or, if you would rather explore under the water, grab complimentary snorkel gear and experience the colorful world that's usually hidden from humans. On Fridays, the hotel takes guests on a two-hour, glass-bottom boat ride. And, don't miss the catamaran cruise if you want a chance to snorkel with sea turtles.

Once your nose is sun kissed and you're happily worn out from playing Robinson Crusoe, pull up a chair at Mango Bay's Restaurant, where succulent Caribbean fusion entrees are sure to top off the day in an authentic, tasty way. If you're feeling a bit more genteel, make sure you save time for afternoon tea service that harkens back to Barbados' British heritage. Once the sun sets, the fun continues. The restaurant's bar offers live entertainment every night, with a variety of musicians playing Jazz, piano or rockin' island music to compliment an entertaining limbo-dance contest.

The resort takes special pains to acquaint guests with other parts of Barbados by arranging special day trips. For an additional charge, you can be queen for the day watching the sport of kings at Garrison Savannah. And we think you should definitely take the jaunt to Oisten's Fish Fry, where the sounds of rhythmic steel drums and local, lilting voices mix with the smell of freshly fried fish to create an intoxicating and memorable Caribbean experience.
