Work trip, I was my friend's +1
Love love love everything about this resort. So fun! Amazing staff great hospitality, especially Rion Kirk, DJ extraordinaire. Loved their brunch! Such great beats and vibes and will return to the GC Marriott because of Rion! Will definitely be back!

Loved Grand Cayman. Will not stay at the Marriott again!
This hotel was very disappointing, it’s dated, hidden fees with an extra 50.00 a day for hotel fees which was explained that it was for the free coffee, having a spa on site, snorkelling equipment and a bunch of ridiculous reasons where every other hotel it was just part of it. There was construction making it so noisy and not relaxing at all by the pool. They only had music for a little while each day. They offered a “free shuttle” to the beach, but they don’t follow the schedule at all and the drop off and pick up times are random and not reliable at all. We waited for over an hour and then I finally called and asked where he was. They said they give you a towel and water. They don’t. You get your own towel and they never once offered water. The hallways are freezing cold, A/C super noisy. Staff was friendly and very pleasant. The hotel food and drinks were way more expensive than going off resort which we did every day. So Grand Cayman is beautiful and we will absolutely be back, we will not be back to the Marriott. The pictures that are shown are clearly VERY old and are not current this hotel is not as it appears on the booking sites.

Unbearable construction noise
Unbearable construction noise outside our ocean view suite. We understood there was no beach but thought we would be able to access and still walk beach. Not the case. You have to walk a 1/2 mile in road to access beach. The staff was great but if you want to relax, hang in the beach and read this is not the hotel for you.

Mostly great!
We came here to celebrate my 60th birthday, and selected the Marriott over the Weston. The location was great, as were the friendly staff and the small, packed beach and pool. The grounds were also very well maintained. The room was adequate, even though we upgraded to a newly remodeled room, which was simply OK. Even though we were there during the off season, using the pool or the beach required you to go down at 6AM, just to try and get 2 chairs. Apparently, it's OK to go put towels on chairs to hold them for hours and hours, until you are ready to go down and use them. Although they have a nice GoPro loaner program, trying to get one is nearly impossible. We were told numerous times that you could not reserve them, and that it was a first come, first served basis. Twice we were down there early to find a table full of GoPro's, only to be told that they were all "reserved". Somewhat of a disconnect in communications. We also saw the same people using them all 3 days. I would definitely not return during their high season. All in all, it was an OK experience, but we were really hoping for a more memorable 60th birthday experience. When we return to the Cayman Islands, we will probably check out either the Weston or the Ritz-Carlton.

The reason you come to the Caymans is the beach. They don’t have one.
The hotel lost its beach several years ago but now the situation is even worse. The veranda which had been a beautiful restaurant on the property that we have been going to for years has a huge construction wall in front of it blocking the view.
