Relaxing last minute getaway
We stayed five nights at this lovely resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our water heater went on the fritz and they had it replaced within an acceptable time frame. We loved the Tiki bar and the music on several nights. The snorkeling around the pier was exceptional and was a pleasant surprise. The beach was pristine with wonderful lounge chairs. I would highly recommend this if you want to get away and relax. We were lucky to go there just before the whole Covid 19 (corona virus) ramped up in the US. Be safe Caymanians!
Grand Cayman East End Adventure
The best there is on Grand Cayman--Wyndham Reef Resort on Grand Cayman's East End. Fabulous ocean front rooms/suites literally steps from the beach! Snorkeling in front of resort. Pools, hot tubs. Dining options include indoor/outdoor restaurants. Nightly entertainment Concierges help you book adventures all over the island--Stingray City is a must! Can't wait to return!
The best snorkeling of three excursions.
I didn't stay at Wyndham, just walked there from a nearby condo place. I brought my own mask and snorkel (no fins needed). The artificial reef, about 30 yards out from the beach, is still growing but there are lots of small corals and many schools of fish in the several dozen perforated concrete bowls just beneath the water's surface. Good swimmers will have no problem exploring and taking periodic rests. Children should certainly be wearing flotation devices. The resort provides gear for guests. I spent several hours exploring, off and on, and was very impressed.
Worth the trip
It is always rewarding to visit the Grand Cayman Islands and stay at the Wyndham Reef Resort in the East End. Friendly, helpful staff, wonderful room and maid service and lots of friendly folks to meet and drink with. During this time with the covid 19 concern the Reef staff was on top of what was happening to keep us in the loop XOXOXO! Great restaraunts in the area that you can walk too, by shuttled to or rent an inexpensive across the street at Andy's and drive to one. Easy to get around and there's also a nice grocery and liquor next to the Italian Kitchen restaraunt across the street. See you next year!!!!
The Wyndham Hotel had everything including great views, service and amenities away from the crowded seven mile beach area. It is only 20-25 minutes from Rum Point a great place for swimming and beach fun.
