Serenity is definitely the right name for this adult-only, all-inclusive resort on beautiful St Lucia

My wife of 32 years and I spent a "just because" week at Serenity the week before Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time. We had never stayed at an all-inclusive resort, let alone an adult-only resort, so we didn't know what to expect. Also, our experience in the Caribbean was limited to 1 week on Turks & Caicos 2 years ago (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and briefer stops on a few islands during Disney cruises. Serenity is an absolutely blissful oasis even though it's connected to the larger Coconut Bay resort. With only 36 villas, it is wonderfully small and intimate and never feels crowded even though there is only one pool (with pool bar!) and one restaurant {Greathouse). While you are free to experience the amenities at Coconut Bay, we rarely left Serenity except to shop at the main resort for souvenirs or to experience the extras included in the "Romance Package" with stays of 7+ nights which included a private island tour and a sunset cruise. We're glad we did the island tour and sunset cruise, plus we experienced the in-room massages and poolside cabana dinner included with the package (which also includes a full day in a pool cabana and another full day in a beach cabana) but if we return we would opt-out of everything except the pool and beach cabanas (plus add additional days of each!) because they were the highlights of our trip. This is a legitimate 5 star resort but here are a few minor quibbles to keep it real. The Greathouse restaurant is excellent and the service is wonderful, and overall there is a great variety of menu options for each meal, but I would veer toward the chicken and fish and away from the beef. The "house" wines are mediocre (we like reds and they offered a merlot, pinot noir, cabernet and malbec but none were anything to write home about) so stick with cocktails. In terms of beer, the draft selection is limited and no IPA options but I enjoyed Piton, the local lager, and they'll stock your mini fridge with it and also stock a cooler for your beach cabana day so ask for extra! Limited TV stations in-room for sports enthusiasts. I know, you're on a beautiful tropical island so TV shouldn't be a priority, but nevertheless it's strange that CBS and ABC are included (as well as ESPN) but not FOX or NBC. And yet the pool bar had access to all US networks and pretty much any sports channel (although sometimes spotty reception). The website says you'll be contacted by your butler a few days prior to your arrival but we never heard from him. He was excellent while we were there, but another couple said the same thing. They do provide a pre arrival form on their website so our recommendation is to fill that out completely and include your in-room liquor requests in the comments section. They will provide 2 bottles of your favorite liquor (we chose Grey Goose Vodka and Woodford Reserve Bourbon) and both were in the room when we arrived. They do NOT replace these if you use them. Other comments - #1 concern of mine was dress code for dinner which says long pants and dress shoes for men. I brought several pairs of long pants and one pair of dress shoes and never used them. I asked our butler upon check-in whether I really needed to wear long pants at dinner and he gave me an emphatic "no" saying the dress code was "resort casual" and I never once felt under dressed wearing nice shorts, a collared shirt and sandals to dinner, and I was in the vast majority, Guys, leave your long pants and dress shoes at home but by all means don't go to dinner in a T shirt and baseball cap. You'll save 5 pounds of luggage weight! #2 - gratuities. Technically, gratuities are included but they will give you a check-out message saying that gratuities are accepted for exceptional service and you will definitely want to acknowledge the great service you experience throughout your stay. You can recognize specific people with a personal card (which we brought along with us) or use the envelops provided in the room to give general tips for restaurant staff, housekeeping, etc. Everyone should do their own thing, but we brought several hundred dollars with us and used all of it. You can also charge gratuities to your room if you're short on cash, otherwise either hand deliver to those who provided outstanding service (there will be many!) or place envelops into the secure "drop box" at the concierge hut near the pool (your butler will show you where it is). Keep in mind that most employees have at least one day off so be prepared to hand deliver to a great server at least one day before your departure. There was a super sweet young woman who delivered our coffee every morning and we're so glad we had a card ready for her the day before we checked out because our check-out day was her day off and it was so gratifying to speak with her. #3 - airport is super small. After you collect your bags and are heading to the Serenity desk outside to get your transfer to the resort, you are 50 feet from the desk so politely refuse the eager porters who want to help you with your bags and you will feel obliged to tip. #4 - yes the Atlantic-facing beach has seaweed constantly washing up. Staff are continually cleaning it up but this will never be a powdery white sand beach. Having said that, we really enjoyed our beach cabana day. The beach near the Serenity resort is virtually non-existent but the beach cabanas are on the far side of the resort north of the larger Coconut Bay resort and are the widest in the area. There is also a great beach bar near the cabanas which opened around 111am on the day when we had our designated beach cabana day. Right next to the beach bar is a shaded area with many first come first serve lounge chairs so you can go early and reserve a spot before everyone else shows up and the party starts at 11am when the bar opens. #5 - this is a "serene" resort for couples but there is nightly entertainment at the pool and the music is usually quite loud so you can either sit outside on the deck of the Greathouse or if you want to actually have a conversation with your partner you can ask to sit inside (even though the DJ one night opened the door and implored us to participate in the outside festivities). #6 - room categories. We stayed in a premium suite. We originally booked a Grand suite but I realized we had a football game to attend that week (oops!) so we rescheduled for the following week and only premium suites were available. We loved our suite and think a premium is fine because it includes a slightly larger room with a couch facing the TV whereas the regular suite only has a single chair which isn't ideal for a couple. If we visit again (a distinct possibility!) we'll book a Grand suite which has a larger outdoor area and plunge pool + walk-in closets vs. wardrobes. #7 - St Lucia is a beautiful, lush volcanic island (we've been to Hawaii 3 times) but it looks very impoverished outside the resort. It's a bit depressing venturing outside the resort and while the island is described as safe, we probably wouldn't venture outside the resort if we return #8 - This resort was as close to paradise as we've ever experienced. Besides being a lovely enclave, the service was beyond belief, and we were so impressed with the warmth of the hospitality. We went into this vacation thinking it was a "one and done" (because we have so many places we haven't experienced), but we are seriously considering a return trip based on how extraordinary our experience was. #9 - we understand that Serenity will be undergoing an expansion so there could be some noise/disruption while they add new units (plus new pool and restaurant) just south of the current resort. We sincerely hope this won't take away from the 'serenity' of the current resort and that Serenity will continue to be the ultimate Caribbean escape for this NJ couple.

The Perfect Place for a Couples Getaway

Serenity in St. Lucia deserves every bit of a 5-star rating. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful grounds, the peaceful atmosphere, and the way every detail felt so thoughtfully designed. The staff was truly wonderful and incredibly attentive. It felt like everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. We loved the curated couples events, especially the sushi-making class, the poolside dinner with live music. The food throughout our stay was absolutely stellar, and each meal felt like its own experience. The rum and food festival on our last night truly blew us away with various food stations, fire breathers and dancing for entertainment. Top tier! A very special shout out to our amazing butler, Ethan, who took such great care of us the entire trip. He stayed on top of our dinner reservations, organized our sail and snorkel adventure and kept us up to date on all the activities available during our stay. The housekeeping staff, Patrice and Trisha kept everything spotless and always made our room feel clean and welcoming after hours spent at the pool or beach. The restaurant team, especially Toya and Jasmine, made every meal feel warm and personal. And the bartenders, Charles and Ray, were fantastic. Fun, welcoming, and made the best drinks. Thanks to this incredible team, our 10-year anniversary trip became the best vacation we’ve ever had. Serenity more than lived up to its name, and we can’t wait to come back and will for sure be recommending to anyone who is planning to visit the gorgeous Saint Lucia.

The best all inclusive resort we have experienced

We’ve stayed at quite a few adults-only all-inclusive resorts, and this one stands out as the best so far. Being only a few minutes from the airport was a big plus. We booked a Grand Deluxe Plunge Pool Suite, and it was even better than the photos. The space felt private and relaxing, and we loved having our own plunge pool, hammock, and outdoor shower. There were so many little touches throughout the room, including the liquor that we selected, mixers, beverages, snacks, and personal notes from the staff that showed how much thought goes into the guest experience. What really made the trip special, though, was the staff. Everyone we met was warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure we were having a great stay. Our butler, David (Davidson), was incredible; he was always available, always thoughtful, and somehow always ahead of us in knowing what we’d need next. The wait staff and crafttenders, Deleon, Kevin, Charles, Toya, Lee, Ginel, and Ray, were all fantastic. They remembered our preferences and even our allergies, which we really appreciated. And we can’t forget Jonathan, whose fresh coconut drinks became something we looked forward to every afternoon. Even though Serenity has just one restaurant, The Greathouse, we never felt limited. The food was excellent every night, and we never felt the need to head over to Coconut Bay for other options. There are some theme nights when you do not eat in the restaurant, but the food still has the same quality as the Greathouse. The menu to order is always available, and you can have the food delivered to the bar, a cabana, or your room. The housekeeping team also deserves recognition. Our suite was spotless each day, and the handwritten notes they left for us were such a thoughtful touch. We wish we could call out every single person by name because the entire staff contributed to making our stay so memorable. All in all, we had an incredible experience at Serenity and are already talking about when we can go back.

Most AMAZING resort you will ever visit

It is hard to put into words how amazing this place and all the people are. Everyone was so friendly, accommodating, provided excellent service and made us feel like family. Christopher Chin , Resort Manager, hand picked the staff and he chose the perfect ones. This is absolutely the most amazing place my husband and I have visited. They make sure your trip is memorable, relaxing and that you're spoiled. Do yourself a favor and book at trip. Ask for Ali to be your butler. She is the BEST! She made sure we had the best experience ever. We made some wonderful friends with the staff and the food/drinks are amazing

    Three times a charm

This is our third trip to Serenity and every year it just gets better and better. Definitely worth reading my earlier reviews, everything I wrote then still applies today. This time we stayed 18 nights in a Grande Plunge Pool suite. Let me frame the ‘18 nights’, we stayed 12 nights the first time, then 14 and we were so sad to leave in 2024 we chose 18 this time - it’s 19 in 2026. You get the idea! So why Serenity so many times? If you’d have said to me in 2021 we’d repeatedly go back to the same place I’d have said “the world is too small, and there are so many beautiful places” Fast forward 4 years and my actual response is “life is too short, when you’ve found paradise, keep returning." We genuinely feel if we went anywhere else in St Lucia, or even the Caribbean, we’d feel sad and disloyal. Serenity has had that impact on us. I could write a novel about the truth of Serenity but I’ll try and keep it to a few key points: 1. The team This is really why Serenity is so spectacular. Let’s start with top down. Chris the general manager….when you stay, you’ll spot him. He’ll be in sunglasses, observing every minute detail of the hotel. Nothing goes without his notice and as a result, the high levels of detail and care that goes into every sun lounger, every drink, every interaction, every event, every menu option - screams 5 star (more on that next). Then you’ve got your butler - this time we had the pleasure of Kurt. What a guy. Quietly and observantly and with a genuine heart, meeting our needs. The small details, the daily check in, the great sense of humour, the silly jokes, the warm hug and the very essence of Serenity - helping us find our serene every single day. The wider team led by Ray, Kevin and Charles at the pool bar - to Shirley and Christy in housekeeping - to Toya, Ginel, Sabby, Jemma, Hannah and the restaurant team - no end of thanks - truly remarkable how they show up every day with the same service, the same smile and the same kindness. Special thanks to Daniel, Mcarthy and Quade (butler 2024) for looking after us on Kurt’s off days. And so lovely to catch up with the OG butler, Nerissa (Neri), our butler from 2021. Another wonderful human, making Serenity so special. 2. Real 5 star. 5 star means so many things. For us 5 star is about enjoying luxury without snobbery. Not sure if that word translates well - but basically Serenity attracts lovely guests that appreciate quality but also match the kindness and energy of the team. It’s not stuffy by any stretch, that said, we always dress appropriately for dinner. My husband usually wore smart shorts, button up shirt and I normally wear a dress. Not a reflection of Serenity at all, but we feel it’s disrespectful to show up for dinner in a baseball cap and something akin to beachwear. The team work so so hard, we just feel it’s respectful to match their effort! 3. Beyond Serenity Being so close to Coconut Bay is a joy. You can enjoy all the facilities of the family-friendly side of the resort, which of course enjoys the beach, but then you can retreat back to Serenity. The jerk tree house is a must for straight-up chicken lovers. And a little 20 minute bob around in the lazy river is worth your time. Also visit the market that arrives 2-3 times a week. 4. Vernon I really want to mention the fitness side of things…. What I actually mean is Vernon the PT/head of fitness. Wow, wow, wow. It’s true, other fitness focused hotels exist in St Lucia (great if you want to compare your active wear…), but if fitness is your thing, this is THE place, although it’s not marketed as such. We arrived fit, but I’m leaving physically, spiritually and mentally stronger, and for this I have to thank Vernon. He’s a game changer for this resort in my opinion. And I really wanted to mention him as a special person to us. If you enjoy being active, really do make the effort to attend his yoga class at 7.30am and then the 10am class, where he will push you harder than you thought possible. The 11am aqua class is great fun, but don’t underestimate it, the weights under water are deceiving. As a former ballet dancer, he's all about functional fitness and honestly, his dance repertoire during the aqua class is worth watching if only from the sidelines. A truly beautiful human. What you can expect: 1. You’ll get a call a week before asking for your bar choices in your room. And if they can’t get it, they’ll try damn hard - so thank you for our alcohol free gin! 2. You’ll meet Jonathan - he’s made a whole business out of coconuts - but his ever-presence will warm your heart every day. And Richard, lead pool guy, behind the scenes, but every morning makes a point of chatting to us. We always say “how does Chris find these incredible people?” 3. The daily event schedule keeps it lively but also you can dip in and out - it’s never intrusive. Fire eaters are very very impressive and if you're at the front of the pool deck you, ll definitely get a warm glow! 4. The romantic package is worth its weight in gold, but if you do things independently as we do, you’ll receive the same 5 star service - thank you to Duane our driver who took us to the distillery, Marigot Bay and the Piton hike. 5. The petting zoo is not obvious when you arrive but definitely take some bananas to feed the horse. Tom, the chief engineer for the resort, along with a team of animal-lovers take in abandoned and stray animals. They have several puppies (Nov 2025) and they’re all being re homed in the US. It’s another lovely feature of the C Bay resort and its wider offering. 6. If you’re wondering about how Serenity sits within the Coconut Bay resort, it’s completely separated by a private road. You can use all the C Bay resort facilities but to put it bluntly, C Bay guests aren’t allowed into Serenity. You could easily go to Serenity and fully enjoy it and never leave its beautiful landscaped spaces. But if you want the gym, it’s no hardship to take the 90 second walk across the road. Personally we like the variation, but think of Serenity as a stand alone exclusive hotel, NOT integrated within Coconut Bay. *That said, C Bay reviews are also fantastic for a reason* 7. Security & safety - all the times we’ve visited we’ve left our bags unattended on our sun loungers with phones, kindles etc. If it rains Kevin or Ray will pop a towel over your things to stop them getting wet! You could leave the Crown Jewels on display and they’d still be there the next day! In summary, thank you to the entire Serenity team for the tremendous kindness you have shown us this year. It’s been a hard year for our family, and the empathy and love you have given us is beyond measure. Until the next time - 370 days and counting xx
