Much needed Vacation
Everything about this resort from start to finish was Absolutely amazing, the constant cleaning and sanitizing of the property was such a nice sight to see especially during the dreaded time we’re living in. During our stay here my wife and I feel like we have made many friends with all of the staff, from Brian and Noeh at the pool who the second we step foot at the pool area welcomed us with open arms, big smiles, they both helped celebrate my wife’s birthday right by the jacuzzi with song, champagne and to die for chocolate cake, Oscar, Omar , and Fernando always never letting us have our cups empty, Humberto at Oceanos, was amazing going above and beyond, even helping charge our dying phones and helping us get towels which is out of there jurisdiction, Luis and Rufino made our romantic dinner on the beach extremely memorable, to Carlos at the front desk who made me feel extremely welcomed even tho I came asking a bunch of questions about the life and love of the folks of Puerto Vallarta ,the staff here really care about the patrons well being, and doing whatever they can to help make the most memorable places to visit, I give secrets a five star review , the only thing that almost ruined my vacation was a sales rep at the Now Amber side named Manuel !!!!!! who has no idea how to talk to guests and honestly was pushing and harassing me, after I told him I didn’t want to have anything to do with what he had to offer , I completely made it clear my time is valuable and I that I was 100 percent against whatever he had to offer. He totally spoke down to me and my wife ,and had the audacity to speak to a patron of secrets,(the sister resort) with such a terrible demeaning attitude. He verbatim said to me “why are you here if you don’t have the money” , you shouldn’t be here if you can’t afford it!!! number one rule in HOSPITALITY field ,NEVER EVER no matter how hungry you are for a sale say anything demeaning to the guests who have payed money to relax and enjoy And celebrate my wife’s birthday during this stressful time that we are all going through, I was so upset that I was shaking in anger and it would have been bad news for him, the second he said that I got extremely upset and I yelled excuse me, no means no then immediately the room became quiet a manager in a blue shirt immediately rushed over and said I know when enough is enough and he let me leave, with all the incentives offered, Manuel is an absolute disgrace to everyone working in this four diamond resort, I felt more welcomed even from the cleaning crew who don’t really know that well of English, Manuel does not deserve to work at this beautiful four diamond resort ,let alone in the hospitality field, Hes a disgrace to the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico he better get fired because it’s a shame for one bad seed who doesn’t know how to understand how to approach guests to ruin the mood and energy for everyone around him,he almost ruined my whole trip , Manuel does not deserve to work at this high end resort , maybe some little run down hotel but definitely not a resort of this calibur. Absolutely disgusting behavior, me being from the tri state area, I have a lot of contacts and I will make sure to let everyone I know of this experience, but other than that horrendous experience, my time here was absolutely memorable.
Great Experience During the COVID Pandemic
This property really does have some wonderful options. We originally were booked into a Studio Ocean View Suite which was nice, but we got upgraded to the preferred club in a Master Swim Out Suite on the first level. The room type is a world of difference but both were very well kept and stocked as well. The property itself is very nice with plenty of pools and hot tubs in the outside area with plenty of loungers to relax in as well. The restaurants were good but the service was a little slow at times but not a complaint as I am sure that they are very short staffed due to lower census at the hotel. The staff are all very polite and always greet you.
We had such a pleasant visit since the moment we walked into reception, they treated us very good and welcomed us with drinks. We came during Covid and they have such great protocols better than in LA. On our second night we had a leakage in our room they accommodated us so well we were in our honeymoon stay and they upgrade us to secrets and a swim up room most amazing experience ever that we even ended Extending our stay! We had David at the swim up Pool helping us with drinks was amazing, Miguel at the pool and beach areas very attentive, Jorge at concierge spoiled us to the max and Elizabeth catering our dinner reservations. Definitely would come back.
Another Great Vacation At SVB
We finally made it back to secrets PV. We arrived on July 10th with a departure on July 18th. We were greeted by our UVC rep Atef. The property is now practicing a whole new level of cleaning standards due to COVID that made us feel very comfortable. The property has reduced the capacity of the amount of guests therefore not all restaurants are open every night. Our morning's normally started with breakfast at the Market Cafe with service from two amazing guys! Cesar and Humberto are enthusiastic and can't do enough for you! I could only wish I had as much energy as you two. Thank you guys, we can't wait to see you on our next visit. We had several dinners with Chef Marco at Bordeaux and his staff of Sergio and Emilio. Each meal was several courses and was different each night. Chef Marco's cuisine is very special and well worth the small additional cost to enter the wine room. Sergio suggested some Mexican wine and we loved it so much we purchased the same bottle several nights in a row. Emilio is always on top with his service and his flaming coffee, it is a show not to be missed! Out by the pool we had exceptional service at the cabana from several people over our stay, including Erick, Jr, Fernando, Manuel, Jorge and Omar. You guys are the best! Thanks for always making our vacation special! Miguel we missed you this time as you were working on the Now Amber side, we hope to see you in February when we will be back for the Super Bowl festivities. The pool concierges Noeh and Elizabeth will help you with anything you need, Great people to talk to and they will be more then happy to get the water spots off of your sunglasses! The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, Carlos Diaz and his fantastic Team Cynthia and David are the hardest working people. Thank you for the special service and the suggestions on some special bottles of tequila that we had not had before. Those bottles would have cost me a fortune at a pool in Las Vegas, thank you!!! We had dinner one night outside with Fransisco Garcia on the second story of Oceana. The sunset, food and service was amazing! Sometimes Fransisco works on the Now Amber side in Capers. You will not regret having dinner with him. He is a great guy!! The entertainment staff of Canelo and Pollo will keep you moving if you desire. Too much exercise for me on vacation! LOL!! Upon check out we met Nirvana in the Preferred Club lobby. She was very helpful explaining our final bill and was a pleasure to talk to. In final we were very happy with our vacation at SVB! Please understand that not everything will be open every day. It's just like Vegas, you can not open everything when you are running at about 30 percent occupancy. We will be at Breathless Cabo next month and will continue to support Mexico!
This resort is excellent. Great location, beautiful beach. Plenty of activities! Rooms are clean, all ocean front, Jacuzzi tub, balcony, mini fridge, maid service was great. The staff are extremely nice and attentive. We got to know the waiters very well. They treat you like royalty! Shout out to Humberto and Emilio waiters at the restaurants who went above and beyond to make us happy! Jaime who runs the beach activities is outstanding! He is patient and explains thoroughly how to operate equipment. Another shout out to poolside waiters Jorge/Manuel/Fernando. These guys tend to all your drink and food desires while never having to get up from your lounge poolside. Carnelo who runs the daily activities from pool volleyball to ping pong is full of energy and motivation to make sure your having fun! Jairo and Elizabeth are there daily by the pool making sure you are happy and answering any questions or recommending something fun to do in Puerto Vallarta. Can't say enough about these guys! This resort is a 10! We had a fantastic vacation and would not hesitate to come back here time and time again! I guarantee you will not be disappointed staying here.
