Several areas need improvement
2-3 stars of 5 Positives: Newer resort Quick check in Sports bar had good quick service Beach area is calm and beautiful Security (personnel and cameras) everywhere Steak at Tierra was delicious! Room service (food) delivery was timely. Lotion provided is great quality. Shampoo and conditioner - decent quality but also note that the consistency is not the same. One day conditioner is yellow, the next day it’s white. (Doesn’t bother me, but I see people asking about it). Turn down service was a nice touch. Plenty of bottled water at bars (in big bowls of ice so you can grab and go). Beautiful resort. No bugs/mosquitos or birds. Negatives: Service was slow. Like 20+ minutes to be acknowledged at restaurants after being sat. No water refills entire dinner. Some food comes out perfect temperature, other food comes out cold (empanadas, chicken sandwich). At dinner on a Sunday night, 5 different tables around us escalated to the manager for how horribly slow the service was. Room never fully cleaned. (No hand towels or floor towel provided for 2 of our 3 nights. Hair - not mine - everywhere). Although it’s a newer resort, there are plenty of areas that show wear and mold. “Chairing is caring” moto is not kept - every day of our stay we saw chairs reserved that people never came back to. Yes, I know this happens at every resort, just super inconvenient and honestly rude for guests to do this. 2 of 3 nights we saw women super drunk - security should have stepped in and sent them to their rooms. Bartenders did not cut off service. Simple drinks like Paloma or Moscow mules cannot be made. Return visit?! We would not come back to this specific resort. We have been to almost every other Secrets resort and 20+ other brands in the last few years. The cost is not worth the slow service. If you are in the Facebook group and share anything relatively negative or constructive feedback, you will get eaten alive. We all have our own expectations. If someone has never been to a resort before that offers exceptional service, they would think Secrets Tides is fantastic. Those of us who have had better service at Royalton, Planet Hollywood, Breathless, or other Secrets, know this resort has plenty of work to do to get up to the usual standards.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana Did Not Disappoint
One of the nicest all inclusive resorts I visited. Absolutely beautiful. Great restaurant options and service was second to none. Preferred Club gives you access to additional restaurants, lounges and private area of beach and own swim up bar. I would highly recommend.

Amazing five day getaway
This resort is amazing, the layout, the pools, the beach, the service was amazing! I had so much fun relaxing, doing the free crafts and activities. Huge favourite was hat painting and sunset beach painting. All the staff are amazing at their roles, we were so impressed with the quality of service We were not preferred and didn’t feel like we missed out at all! Only one small downside is we had an issue with the LED lights around our bathroom mirrors - it would randomly turn on in the middle of the night, someone came to fix it and it helped but it started acting up again on the last day, very minor but wanted to mention it. Food was awesome, a few misses here and there based on preference but overall we really enjoyed it and there were just so many options! Tierra was our favourite for vibe and food! Weather was unreal and walking the beach everyday was fun!

Beware of the large corporate groups.
The good: There is a lot to like here. The resort is beautiful and meticulously maintained. The beach is very nice, although the surf was rough so there weren't a lot of people swimming during our stay. No seaweed at all. The staff was excellent, with only a few exceptions. The not-so-good: Before booking I read a lot of positive reviews on the food. The food is uneven at best. The chicken with mole sauce at El Patio was bland. Our dinner at Oceana was outright awful. Dinner at Tierra was outstanding, and the buffet was decent. Breakfasts at Oceana were pretty good except for terrible service on our first morning. The ugly: The resort has 3 pools, one being for preferred guests. Somehow the preferred pool is the busiest in the resort. Either they're just letting everybody in or they're giving out preferred access to vacation club members. Either way, it's a slap in the face to those who pay more for preferred access to have to walk over to the quiet pool just to find a couple of free lounge chairs. If everybody is preferred, then nobody is preferred. The biggest problem, and the reason why we'll never return, is large corporate groups. There were 2 of them during our week-long stay. One one afternoon a group ran their "employee olympics" on the beach with an MC screaming his head off through a massive PA system that was so loud it overpowered the music at the main pool, and pretty much made it impossible to enjoy a quiet day at any of the pools or even our swim-up patio. This went on for hours. Also, 1/2 of the preferred beach was reserved for a group, leaving the rest of the preferred guests to fight over the few remaining lounge chairs. The next day, half of the seats at the quiet pool were reserved for a corporate group who held a blisteringly loud dance party all afternoon. Yes, at the *quiet* pool. Staff did nothing about the excessive and disruptive noise, despite complaints from several guests. There were nights where 2 of the 6 restaurants were closed for private functions; you had to either wait in line at the other 3 restaurants or hit the buffet; Their website offers "a tranquil escape", but they clearly value their corporate customers more than their retail ones. We paid a premium to stay at Tides, and we may as well have picked some cheap party palace that caters to drunken college kids.

Book It Now!!!
This resort far exceeded our expectations. The entire resort is new and beautiful! The bartenders are so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are breathtaking. The food was good but I can see how some foodies might not enjoy it. If you are debating on booking this resort….. BOOK NOW! Worth every penny. PS- this is NOT a party resort. If you are looking for risqué shenanigans book next door at Breathless. If you love to day drink, have a nice meal and watch a show …. This is the place for you!
