  Relaxing Getaway

  Wonderful time! Service was great, food was decent. Lots of options for activities! We enjoyed chocolate tasting with Mayra and Merengue dancing with Teddy! Saintony made sure the Preferred pool bar was a positive experience! Coral and Angela made great drinks! Our butler Diego was very helpful and made sure we had what we wanted

  Activities and entertainment are a 10/10!

  We loved our stay here! We had a lot of fun during the activities, everyone that works here is super nice especially the entertainment team. Special shoutout to Mayra from the entertainment team! She made sure we had so much fun during our stay and was always so accommodating during the activities. The only thing that needs improvement is the food which was pretty bland in flavor throughout all the restaurants and buffet, some of the restaurants also need more options in the menu. Overall we would love to come back!

  Lovely hotel but a few improvements needed

  Review This is my honest review from a non preferred guest at this hotel. We are from the UK and stayed for 11 nights. The reason we didn’t do preferred club was because we already spent a lot of money on this holiday due to longer flights I do think it works out more for us in general. The good: The grounds are beautiful and very clean The rooms are also stylish, clean and spacious Pools are nice & big and lots of space, easy to get a sunbed MOST of the staff are really lovely, friendly and fun. The beach & sea was nice whilst we were there, mostly no seaweed The food in the main buffet restaurant is good and plentiful, also fast service in there The Al a carte restaurants that we really enjoyed were tierra - amazing food and service, really felt like a posh restaurant. Oceana - again tasty dishes and good service The gym was one of the best gyms there has been at the resorts we have visited, lots of equipment and plenty of space The entertainment team are great and really do try to get people involved without being overbearing Pool service is usually great although can drop off in the afternoon and if you do go to the bar yourself your not often met with a smile The bad: Whilst I understand that paying for preferred status gets you a lot more (butler, al a carte lunch & breakfast, extra pool, food truck, preferred lounge) sometimes it felt like being non preferred you were definitely pushed to the side slightly, I understand these people are paying for extra, however with this being a 5* property i do feel if you aren’t preferred you are definitely getting more of a 4* hotel. One particular problem is at lunch, non preferred guests get either the buffet restaurant or the barefoot grill. The barefoot grill is clearly overwhelmed at busier times, the service is poor and when trying to order food to take away you can be left stood there for 15/20 minutes with no sign of even being spoken to. This for a 5* just simply isn’t good enough which is a shame. Meanwhile you’ve got preferred guests in the Al a carte which is a really large space and the barefoot grill next door which has about 10 tables for 50% of the resort guests. Some members of staff simply shouldn’t be front of house, straight away you are sometimes met with a bad attitude as if you shouldn’t be asking for a drink etc this is a shame as 90% of the staff are really lovely people. The Italian restaurant isn’t up to standard, we got served cold food and also the waiters in there are quite abrupt mostly The steakhouse is nice food once you get it but is quite chaotic. we were asked about dessert when we hadn’t had our main, the waiter didn’t understand this so someone else had to come and intervene From a few of the restaurants our order was wrong or just not given to us Some but certainly not all of the waiters in the day and at night aren’t interested unless you tip each time I aren’t usually one to write reviews but I read them a lot before I come away myself so I thought it was only right to write one myself on my NON preferred experience at this hotel. Hopefully in time improvements can be made in certain areas to make this a true 5* resort as it definitely has the ability to be. Hope someone finds this useful ☺️

  HORRIBLE SERVICE, RESORT BEAUTIFUL

  I went to Secrets Tides December 16-21 2025 for my birthday. We did the preferred service and it was worth the extra cost in our opinion. The resort is beautiful and the rooms are big and very nice. The food was really good. We had a romantic dinner on the beach with lobster and steak and it was good. Our Butler Argeuris (RG) and Angela the oasis beach cabana hostess were AWESOME!. They made my birthday so special. However, the service we received elsewhere at the resort was horrible! Cons-I don't know what the problem was with us but we had several instances were the waiters and hostesses were rude and completely ignored us!. 1. We went to the Mixology event at the theater bar and the 3 bartenders ignored us while talking and laughing with the people on both sides of us the whole time during the event. They just completely acted like we were not there! 2. We went to the barside grill and a few of the waiters there ignored us so we had to flag somebody down to come and wait on us and in a nonchalant kind of way the server waited on us but never looked at us like he didn't want to be bothered with us. Also the jerk chicken was served cold there. 3. We had reservations at the Japanese steakhouse. We got there about 10 minutes early so the hostess told us to wait outside and she would come and get us in 10 minutes, she came and got this other couple who came after us but she never came to get us, so we went back inside and asked was our table ready and the 2 hostesses completely ignored us like we were not there so we asked politely again was our table ready and they ignored us again so finally I raised my voice and asked again and finally with an attitude she gestures with her hand and tells us to just follow behind this other couple that they came and got to help with their table. That really upset us! 4. We went to the Italian restaurant and when the server came to wait on us the first thing he said in an aggressive way was "WHAT DO YOU WANT". No polite welcome. We were like what in the world! 5. Our toilet seat was broken the entire time but was never fixed even after we told the assistant manager. We talked to the assistant manager about our issues and she apologized and assured me that she would tell the head manager but I don't think she did. She did give us an Oasis cabana for my birthday so that was nice. I have been to 6 different Secrets resorts over the years in Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic and have always had excellent service but the service here was not up to the standards we have come to expect, so we WILL NEVER COME BACK TO SECRETS TIDES!

  nice atmosphere but awful food

  The place is very nice -pool and beach are beautiful and well maintained, service is good. However, we were highly disappointed in the food. We upgraded to the preferred club. It didn’t really seem all that worthwhile there. Aren’t that many extra options for lunch - seaside grill (American menu), Oceanside (overcooked everything!), a food truck (frozen American food)
