Our Honeymoon!
Myself and my wife visited here for the second part of our honeymoon and were blown away by the level of service we received! From the moment we arrived you are made to feel like the most important person in every staff members lives! Pool area was great we stayed beside the quieter one never struggling for beds with staff that will come and offer you cocktails very regularly! Room was a great size and we only had a standard one! Mini bar is restocked every day with great options. Complimentary room service was a great touch and the food quality was excellent too! We visited most of the sit down options for food with our favourite personally being the Italian but the steak house was fantastic also! Special mention to the Asian option dragons, my wife and myself found this is the most surprisingly good, both being fussier eaters and still really enjoyed this! Breakfast and lunch at the market cafe are as good a buffet experience I’ve seen wide selection of options for both with lunch options rotated every day. Also our favourite staff member (Nicole) was great here making us both feel so welcome every day greeting us with a smile and being so friendly! Bars were all great with fantastic quality selection for an all inclusive! All staff throughout the stay were great and made it feel like they would go above and beyond to make sure your stay was great! Couldn’t recommend this place higher! If it wasn’t such a long trip for us we would be back asap!

Cancún Vine secrets review
Hotel was clean. The workers were great and friendly. Our problem was with the “partial ocean view” We walked into a room facing the pool. Loud music. Our one request was for a quiet room as we desperately wanted an adult vacation. The air conditioner didn’t work but they fixed it within the hour of calling and letting them know. Our first 2 nights we heard a couple screaming at each other from 10pm-2am. By the second night it started back up and the front desk staff was nice enough to move us. We walked into the second room and noticed they had Lamps and a tablet to order room service which was nice as I thought that was what we were getting in the first room. Our second rooms fridge didn’t work but we didn’t care as we were just happy to have a quiet room with working AC at that point. The food and servers were great. The one thing I didn’t like was the constant salespeople trying to “upgrade you” at a cost of course. This hotel was already not cheap to begin with so I found it unsettling after it happening so many times. Wither it be the spa upgrades, the woman in the lobby trying to sign you up for “resort coupons” or the excursions. We just wanted to relax and enjoy our time.

Pretty close to perfect....try it for yourself
My wife and I travelled here from the UK looking for a relaxing two week break, and knowing full well the hotel is located in the hotel zone and far from anything 'authentic Mexico'. We have been to a slightly more remote area of the Yucutan before in 2019 so we had a good idea what to expect. This is a pure tourism area and to see anything more authentic you need to get outside of the zone. The hotel is a very short transfer from the airport, which after a 10.5hr flight and all the airport time was very welcome. Oh, and a very slow baggage delivery - we breezed through Passport Control in 2m only to wait 30-40m for cases to arrive - apparently this is not unusual at this airport. We were greeted warmly at the hotel, offered a welcome drink, were allocated a nice room etc - all great and seamless, so off to a great start. And TBH our stay pretty much just kept to that standard going forward - a very high level of service and care from practically everyone we encountered. What is rare and worth calling out is that it felt genuine - we've travelled widely and experienced great service with managers constantly overseeing everything, and it feels nothing like this. Staff here are pretty free to engage with guests, share a laugh, a photo etc and it really does show - it's really refreshing to see this 'live' on such a scale as the hotel is quite large. The staff work really hard, but there is a sense of fun and camaraderie present that we thought set this hotel apart. The hotel and grounds are kept very clean, and that is no mean feat with the amount of food and drink being consumed - it is everywhere. As an all-inclusive hotel, that might sound surprising, but there is genuinely something to eat and drink at every turn - and it is all good!!! It's a busy hotel, and quite 'full on' at times, but lots of fun and far from a late night party place - just about right for us!! Luckily the gym is of a really high standard (shout out to Efra who worked hard to keep it that way - thank you so much!) - I really loved my daily workouts looking out at the Caribbean from the 12th floor, such a privilege. Be prepared to sweat though, all that glass makes for a super sweaty workout!! The beach is stunning and whilst there was some seasonal seaweed, we have seen far worse and it is cleaned daily, if not more often. The hotel's beach area is quite small, but you can happily wander along the beach for miles with no restriction as you just pass from one hotel's patch onto another. The colour of the sea is just incredible. An unexpected highlight of this holiday was high quality yoga instruction! It is available most days (except changeover days) courtesy of visiting yoga instructors who sign up to teach here in return for accommodation and subsistence - a great programme and deal for all concerned and we really enjoyed meeting our two lovely instructors!!!! It is not guaranteed that someone will have signed up every week so it's worth checking beforehand if this really important to you. The only negative feedback we would give is that the dress code is too relaxed - sounds weird, but some of the premium restaurants such as Dragons and Nebiollo are really attractive and having people in baseball caps and flip flops at dinner is pretty off putting. It felt lazy, and whilst I get that the hotel wants to be welcoming to all guests, it cheapens the experience in our view and we would love to see this policy upgraded!!! What's wrong with dressing for dinner in a nice restaurant??? But plus points to the hotel also in that it operates a no reservation system for dining - you can eat at any restaurant on a first come first served basis which is great. None of the stress of trying to book dinner if you've experienced that particular bunfight!! Literally everyone that looked after us was great, but a few special mentions: - Efra the gym manager, super attentive and runs a great gym (with a sea view!) - Mercedes in Bluewater Grill (for the top shopping tips!) - Daniela and Michelle in Market Cafe reception plus Jose the manager (unfailingly warm and welcoming and surprised us with a little farewell cake as a treat on our last day - thank you all!) - Nicolas in Market Cafe (for finding my wife decaf coffee!) - Cesar in Nebiollo and Yuan and Alexandro in Dragons (who dished out great food alongside great service!) All in all, we had a lovely time and if a relaxing holiday with warm and authentic service is what you need, this really is a great option.

One of the best resorts I have ever stayed in!
The rooms were amazing (we stayed in both the preferred club and standard and both rooms were well presented and spacious. The pool guys serving drinks were great and the service during the meals were fab. Special shout out to Nicolas and Michelle at the buffet ay breakfast and lunch always going the extra mile. The hotel has plenty of choice for food and a variety of restaurants so you'll never go hungry while you are there. The 24/7 cafe is a great amenity to service you hot/cold drinks as well as snacks and cakes, and delicious pastries in the morning. If I book a holiday to Cancun again, i'd definitely be back at this hotel or on the look out for another secrets resort if I was to go else where.

There are better options in Cancun
I went with my adult daughter for a girl's break before she starts her new job. I didn't know this resort caters to couples and 99.99% of the guests are actual couples; we felt completely out of place. I am a Hyatt Globalist and got upgraded to a junior suite. The room itself is modern and spacious and the bed comfortable. This, and our Concierge, are the only nice things about this resort. The shower is situated awkwardly in the middle of the room with all glass walls. You've got to be very intimate with your travel partner to feel comfortable. The ocean is only visible if you step into the balcony; else you are staring at the building next door. The mini fridge was only filled sparingly and with very poor quality juice boxes and water. Food: Breakfast and lunch buffets are of limited spread and average quality. Dinner ranges from extremely horrific (the steak house) to mediocre (Asia restaurant) to good (beach mediterranean restaurant). Snacking options in between meals is limited to non-existent. Concierge lounge foods are limited, dry, and of poor quality. Drinks: We are non-alcohol drinkers and we mostly ordered sweet fruity drinks and cocktails. We ordered from various bars and restaurants and they always taste artificial and awful. Service: Other than the Concierge on our floor, services are generally below average. The wait staff at the steak house was the worst; they pretty much ignored everyone the whole night. There was a huge staff walking around but no one was doing work. The staff at the lobby cafe/bakery are probably trained by the same people. They tried their best to wipe down the counter and tidying up the space instead of turning around to make you a coffee. I experienced this numerous times during my stay. No one was rude, per se. They just try to avoid acknowledging you and help yoi. Beach: I picked this hotel for the beautiful white-sand beach. I did not know sea weeds had already arrived at the hotel zone. It was my fault but disappointing nonetheless. Entertainment/Tours: This is a very small hotel and nightly entertainment is merely some singing/magic show in a bar. The shows are not of professional quality and not worthy of your time. I regretted staying at this hotel mainly because of how the tours turned out. I pre-booked several tours via Viator. These are day tours to visit Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Xplor Park, etc with transportation included. The tour operator goes up and down the entire hotel zone, and sometimes the downtown area and even resorts in the Riviera Maya to pick up guests. By the time they pick up everyone it's a 3-hour ordeal and then we head to our final destination. Secrets The Vine unfortunately sits at the beginning of the route. We had crazy pick-up times at 5:45 AM, 6 AM, etc. The returns were a little faster but we still managed to miss dinner and even room service a few times due to late return. We stayed at the Moon Palace a few times before this stay and had wonderful times. Our room at Secrets the Vine is definitely miles better. However, I had much more enjoyable stays at Moon Palace because of better food, better service, and better tour options. We will not be back at Secrets the Vine.
