  Wonderful experience, but needs a Renovation after 15 years

  location is great, 20 min from airport, the environment was wonderful, rooms spacious but becoming dated and furniture is also becoming worn. Place is kept very clean and it is a great value for the money. We stayed in the Preferred Junior suite oceanfront, but basically all the rooms are oceanfront to me because you can see the ocean from all the rooms. Very HOT in September and humidity you can cut with a knife. We stayed mostly indoors and rested. Service was spot on, they make sure you have everything you need. If you go during July or August or September when it is hot, be sure to ask for a fan for your room because we were told it will not cool less then 73 degrees in your room.

  Wonderful stay

  My wife and I had great time here at Secrets Vine Resort. Every night resort had different entertainments which was great. Walk to the beach was great! The food was also great! Overall, our stay was fantastic.

  Great stay!

  Great stay. Variety of restaurants. Great selection of food and drinks. Hotel, rooms and grounds clean. A/c great! Hotel did a great job of clearing the seaweed. Staff very attentive and friendly. Ps quick public bus ride to club area.

  Good Trip

  Had a lot of fun. Wished housekeeping cleaned more often and at earlier hours. My brother and sister in laws room had an iPad, ours didn't. They were able to order room service and we weren't able to even when calling on the room phone during open hours. But other than that, it was a good experience! Caesar in the Market Cafe was great. Aisha on Entertainment team was phenomenal. Really enjoyed the Boy Band Experience.

  Disappointed

  We originally booked for 3 nights and left after the first day. As soon as we arrived we were bombarded with upsells and upgrades during check-in, and aggressive timeshare pitches during our sit-down the concierge. Not a relaxing way to begin a vacation. I also noticed that the staff was very transactional, not upbeat at all. Our concierge didn’t explain anything to us about the hotel, activities, where things were located, restaurants, or the app needed for a lot of the requests. We were given a booklet of coupons that we didn’t understand what they were to be used for or how. In my opinion, she only wanted to push the timeshare and once she realized we weren’t interested that was it. We arrived earlier than check-in time but were allowed to dine before our room was ready. The buffet restaurant was good. I’d booked an ocean view junior suite -please be mindful that ocean view and ocean front mean different things. The room was extremely spacious but not as pictured or described. There was no coffee table or tablet in the room. I personally feel like the website doesn’t include many photos or angles of the hotel because most of the rooms are lateral/ on the sides of the hotel. The balcony was extremely large, however we were left with a side view of the ocean, the property next door, and the hotel’s generator’s or air conditioning along with all the neighboring balconies. If you’re the type of person who pays attention to detail,the hotel seems to need minor renovation. I noticed a lot of small cracks, stains, and damage throughout the resort. Not to mention, we saw at least two roaches during our 1 day stay. I think the most important piece of information is that our room door would not lock unless forcefully closed. So many times we would find that our room door wasn’t completely closed or locked unless we slammed it shut. We ordered room service and it was very mediocre, not only that but I inquired for the tray to be picked up through their app. I left it outside in the hallway that afternoon and until we left the following afternoon, it remained in the hallway despite receiving notification that the pickup was complete. For dinner there are no reservations so the wait time can be unpredictable for a restaurant you’d like to visit. We went to the steakhouse which was very good and our waiter was the best part of our night at Secrets. This was probably the only highlight of our stay and even then the restaurant -along with the rest of the hotel- was extremely hot. I felt like we were sweating during our dinner and it wasn’t until we exited into the hallway that we found cooler air. I’ve been to many luxury hotels and resorts around the world, including Cancun and other parts of Mexico, but I have to say that Secrets was an extremely disappointing visit.
