    Amazing experience!!!

We had a great stay at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana. Dont forget the TIP and be careful who you trust about the activities outside the resort!!! 😅😅 The service was consistently excellent from start to finish. The room was spotless, well maintained, and always refreshed on time. The entertainment team was energetic, friendly, and really made the atmosphere enjoyable throughout the day and evening. Special mention to Johnatan, one of the servers – genuinely outstanding service, always attentive, professional, fun and welcoming. And a huge thank you to Yafreisy, hands down the best butler from(preffered club) we’ve ever had. Extremely organised, proactive, and always one step ahead. Nothing was too much trouble, and he truly elevated our whole experience. Overall, great service, great people, and a resort that clearly cares about quality. We would definitely return.

    Great resort.

We had a great time at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana. The resort was beautiful, plenty of activities and entertainment if you wanted to join. We were very happy with our preferred club upgrade as we had access to the preferred pool and lounge, we enjoyed being able to relax away from the main pool as it was very busy. The food was great and we had many options of restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was great.

    Travelers beware!

Travelers beware! I had all of my cash stolen out of my wallet in our room within hours of arriving. There was no reason for anyone to be entering our room since our luggage was in there and the room was fully stocked and we did not order room service. We left for dinner and someone had to have been watching us leave our room to know we weren't in there. We tried reporting it to the concierge, and started filling out an incident report, but then she told us that they are required to open up a full investigation, which would involve police and security, we would need to wait for them to arrive, they would do full interviews with both of us, and search through our room, and all of our luggage and belongings. This would take hours to complete, without any promise of resolution. So, we decided it wasn't worth getting compensated, and just wanted the person who did it held accountable so they couldn't do it to anyone else. She told us they have cameras outside of the rooms and can easily check to see who accessed our room with their card during those few hours. So, should be simply fire the person who accessed a room when they weren't supposed to, right? Wrong. She said they would still have to open up a full investigation, which would involve more people going through all of our belongings, another violation of privacy, and with excursions and dinner reservations planned, and no idea how much of our vacation time would be spent in an incredibly uncomfortable experience, we opted to not report until we left the resort to go to the airport. It really feels like the resort was deterring us from reporting, when, if they cared about their guests, it should be the other way around. They did tell our us also that no one will enter our room if the do not disturb sign is on the door, which is not true, as another party in our group had their room service plates moved from their table to outside of the door while they were gone, with the DND sign up. Needless to say, it really put a damper on our entire trip, since everytime we left the room, we loaded the safe, which is very small and wouldn't fit all of our valuables, like our laptop and go pro/accessories, etc, and had to set up 'traps' on our luggage to see if anyone was messing around in there, and then sweep the room when we'd return to see if anything was moved. And, if we'd leave the room and any worker was outside and watched us leave the room, we'd either go back in until they were gone, or do a loop and swing back around to watch and see if they left or were by our room. It was very unsettling. Not only that, but we were unsure if they took pictures of my credit cards, ID, or insurance card, so we needed to cancel my credit cards while we were down there, and when we got back to the states, had to get a new ID, set up credit freezes, contact our PD and FTC, and call our insurance and bank to place alerts on my accounts. PIA but necessary so I could finally put my mind at rest. Apparently this is not uncommon as there are several tik toc videos and reviews of the same thing happening to other people. Unfortunately, stuff like this really takes away from the good about the resort, and the staff overall were really phenomenal. If the resort was smart, they would use this information to make their resort more secure. They would fire anyone accessing rooms when they weren't supposed to, and that alone would make for better staff and more secure experience for their guests. If it wasn't for that, we would have enjoyed our stay at this resort, other than the beach solicitors and complete lack of animal life down here, lol. Rooms are nice large clean rooms, lot of areas to store your belongings. We had a private pool which was fun, but the water was very cold, and made it difficult to enjoy it thoroughly unless the sun was directly overhead. Safety: Rooms were not secured and the resort made it difficult to report cash stolen from our room by staff when no one had a reason to go in there. It added a lot of stress to our trip and created an overall negative experience by the violation of our privacy and the discouragement from the resort to report or want to do anything to help their guests feel more secure, which is unfortunate. Food was great compared to other resorts, all of the restaurants were good and we had a good experience. They had great gluten free options everywhere we went, and everything was good quality. Excursions: Juanillo excursion was fantastic and well worth the money (~$180)! Our group of 10 did a visit to cap cana, fun boat ride with snorkling, chilling in 4 foot blue water, a good quality lunch and beach time at cap cana/juanillo, jumped and swam in a real cenote with a real waterfall, then did a monkey encounter. The 'ATV' excursion at Bavaro Adventure Park was disappointing and definitely not worth the $130 we paid. The ATV trail was okay, but we did run the same trails over and over again. The "village" was not authentic and completely fake. The guide that did the chocolate and mamajuana tasting was good and the shop was nice and reasonably priced. The "cenote" was beautiful but also likely man made and a perfectly even 4 ft deep. The "waterfall" was not natural and part of a manmade waterfall pool that was frigidly cold. And the lunch provided was meh and edible, but not great, and water was not provided. More annoying was that they did not allow you to bring any cameras, go pros, or phones with you on any of it, so, if you wanted pictures, you needed to purchase them from the gift shop. Tourist trap for sure, and possibly fun for some, but definitely not worth what we paid. Beach: the sand was soft, and beach was well maintained. However, the water was very dirty and brown for quite a ways out, could not see our feet or if any fish were around. Not what I expected, but maybe that is normal for December, even with the sargassum nets out?? There is also a complete void of animal life. Zero clams, crabs, sea birds, nothing. No shells, not even small ones. We only saw maybe a dozen birds total, a handful of anole lizards, and a few stray cats in the 7 days we were there. So strange for a tropical climate! Lot of solicitors on the beach that were relentless. There would literally be 9+ solicitors spread out along the beach stopping anyone who would come near the beach chairs or try to go by the water. We did visit their "shops", which we expected to be cheaper than the resort shops, but their prices started at nearly 4x the price, so bartering down to something reasonable was difficult. I would suggest any women go to this area with a male, bc the area is sketchy at best. We finished our shopping at the resort shops, which were slim pickings, but a lot more peaceful. We were warned on checkin not to parasail due to a lot of injuries the last 5 months, and observed nearly every parasail boat do risky maneuvers, ie trying to drop the parasailers on the top of another boat, letting the line go slack and at one time the boat turned around and let the parasailers line go slack with the boat facing and driving toward the parasailers. Yikes!

Good value, Pretty property, food and drinks were so-so

Just finished a five day trip with my wife at Secrets Royal Beach -Property was so well taken care of, really beautiful, tons of protection from sun, pool was huge, they did a good job with the quiet pool as well -Food overall was just okay. We tried every restaurant once and opted not to do the hibachi but did eat at Himitsu -White water grill was our favorite, and then Bordeaux would be right behind that -The portions are all more than enough, most places are four courses here -The beach area and activities they offered were great, we didn't do an excursion and always felt we had something to do on the resort -We have typically done massages at the spa in the past, but even with coupons the couples massage we felt was still too hefty of a price to pay -Our room was great, although once around noon our shower water just turned off -The coffee here was excellent- Denisse and Nery at Coco Cafe were just the right people to get your day started off on the right foot -Keren on the entertainment team is so endearing and may be small in stature, but has a big heart -We did not do the preferred club and din't feel we missed out on much, but the preffered club area looked nice when we walked by -Miguel makes good drinks at the Show time bar as well -The entertainment at night was hit or miss but the main plaza is a nice place to hang out after dinner -My wife and I played pickleball there and Marco was awesome, really helpful and was so nice -Ismael at the Barefoot Grill was awesome when you get to talk to him and makes the best cheeseburgers -Drinks were just okay, but we loved Wilson and Melvin at the swim up bar! Wilson is such a hard worker and makes it look easy, and if you're looking for a party, Melvin is your guy -The gym was quaint but had everything we would want, a cardio area, a small machine and free weight and cable section, and there was a little studio room as well -Check in and out process was quick and efficient -We had room service twice, breakfast was very good, and the after hours room service was just okay -The main buffet had everything you could want and more
