Overall, there were several disappointments with this place. The front desk, the concierge’s and room service would not pick up their phone so that was terrible. Also, the Wi-Fi did not work in. Our TV did not work. There was no or hardly any entertainment throughout the whole week we were there. The Amstar, which is a transportation and excursion service offered through the hotel was terrible. The only good thing is it was not overcrowded so we can get drink drinks and food when we wanted to

Secrets Royal beach was a beautiful resort. The food was delicious and the staff was amazing! Super Brian our butler was so nice and attentive. We upgraded to the preferred club and we are happy we did because there was better options for alcohol and the staff was so nice and friendly.

Overall great, with a few glitches
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Alemonde, my butler. He showed us the gold key which was unfortunately, and sadly, a disguised attempt at timeshare sales. This was a big negative to me as it felt not at all transparent and guests do not like being "tricked" by this type of maneuver as they are first arriving. Not Alemonde's fault at all. Also, not Alemonde's fault, was our room was quite unsatisfactory. We paid for partial ocean view, and we had barely a sliver of ocean view (I have a video of this if you need proof). Room 3166, I think it was. I spoke with Rosa who could not find a better room for us that first day, so we had to half unpack and use that room until the next day. Also, the air conditioning was completely inadequate, and it was warm and humid all night. Finally, with Alemonde's assistance, we were moved to a new room which was 100% better view, and he had the A/C adjusted to our liking. Other than that, everything else went well. I really was looking forward to a drink in a coconut, but I never found one. Oh, I forgot to mention: the bell person never showed up to take our luggage to the lobby at checkout, so my lady and I had to move it very quickly ourselves as to not miss our ride to the airport. The front desk (manager?) was quite unhappy about this and would "have a conversation" with the staff member who messed this up. It is, indeed, a beautiful property and the shows at night were wonderful, as were all the staff.

Great vacation aside from the rooms!
Vacation was enjoyable, other than our room. The first night we discovered blood in our bed and initially thought maybe the sheets were just stained, but upon further investigation, the blood had leaked all the way through to the mattress. It left us questioning if the bed was even changed prior to our arrival. The bath tub also did not drain and our sink was broken. Not what you'd expect from a premium junior suite with private pool! Outside, our pool was beautiful and the grounds were well maintained with staff constantly sweeping and cleaning. Everyone was friendly, from the front desk staff to the bartenders and restaurant servers.
- AdvisoryStudent Groups (Spring Breakers) are not permitted at Hotel. A student group consist of those that travel without parent supervision or a responsible adult in each room. This could refer to but not limited to high school students or college students booking multiple rooms. The hotel reserves the right to deny lodging to any reservations of this type.

The Dominican Republic imposes various restrictions each year for Easter. They usually begin the Thursday prior to Good Friday and run a few days past Easter Sunday. The following regulations may be enforced:
