Nov 18, 2025You can't relax pay more to use all of the resort
Have to get up early if you want a place by any of the pools. Beach is impossible to relax with constant people selling stuff. After you get there than they tell you it cost more if you want to go anywhere in the resort.

Nov 17, 2025Worst vacation experience Ever
First solo trip paid for premier package to get a dirty pool and when I complained they gave me the run around I stayed from 11/13 till 11/17 they didn’t clean the pool until 11/17 even after repeatedly complaining to multiple workers. Then the day of check out my transportation never showed and I had to pay $35 bucks for a taxi when I paid for a package with transport . Never ever again will I travel to the DR 5 star resort yeah right they don’t care about all their customers

A great resort overall! We enjoyed our stay and spent most of our time at the pool. Lady (at the pool) gave us excellent service and was so fun. We enjoyed many of the staff that were part of the activity staff - Manny and Aladdin especially. The specialty restaurants were good! The buffet was consistent. Overall, I would recommend!

Preferred is well worth it here! Very clean and organized hotel. Friendliest staff. Great entertainment and good food. Lazy River was a nice touch. Hibachi was the best. Highly recommend this resort. Jo Jo makes the best bloody Marys!!!!

Great value if you like heat!
Just returned from SRB from 9 day stay with my wife. We also had friends who were there at the same time. I have mobility challenges so I rented a scooter and took my rollator. 99% of areas were available, of course the beach and sandy areas were unpassable, so consider this in my review. Ugly - I love oatmeal, the oatmeal in the La Riviera was mostly water with very little actual oatmeal, I could not stomach it. - If you like it hot, you will be happy. Temp in our room never reached below 74F. AC ran continuously. The heat was intense. Some will be ok I was miserable the entire time. Bad - Only the Preferred Club Breakfast and lunch at Olio and the Evening Ala-Carte restaurants are indoors with fewer bugs and less heat, all other dinning locations are are outdoors, If you like heat and bugs it is good , I hated it. Good - Service, every effort is made to assist you and do that with friendliness and kindness. Butler, Housekeeping, Mini-bar service, Registration were all wonderful. Room was clean and orderly, not the Ritz but not Terrible. Value - Through the UVC SRB is a great value compared to other Hyatt/UVC properties. Good food and lodging for the $. I was accommodated as to my mobility challenges with kindness and respect.
