Nov 22, 2025Disappointing Experience – Poor Food and Low Quality Drinks
I rarely leave reviews, but my experience here was far below expectations. The biggest issues were the food and the liquor quality. The meals served were bland, poorly prepared, and lacked freshness. Nothing we tried had the quality you’d expect from a place in this price range. The drinks were equally underwhelming. Liquor used seemed to be of noticeably low quality. Even simple mixed drinks were off, which made the bar experience quite disappointing. The atmosphere and service had potential, but unfortunately the poor food and beverage quality overshadowed everything else.

Amazing resort from top to bottom!
Myself and my girlfriend have done a lot of travelling around the Caribbean including Punta Cana a couple of times. This hotel is without doubt the best we have visited! To start the entertainment during the day is great, loads of activities, highlights were paddle yoga and water bike aerobics. The evening entertainment was arguably even better, a different show every night of the week at the plaza on a big open air stage from Queen to Beyoncé to retro, all of which were to high standards! The white party was also a very good time every Thursday. Special shoutouts to Jay Frost and Junior from the entertainment team! Next the rooms, they were very specious and so clean, the housekeeping team do a great job daily making sure it’s in pristine condition for you, the same goes for all over the resort, the cleanliness is noticeable and just adds to the beauty of the place. The service is also another shining point with all staff being very helpful, fast and attentive, they will always smile as you walk past and say hello. The food and drink selection was good, the French restaurant and the Japanese were our favourites, but to be honest some of the others were okay but not to there standard in our opinion, but they were still enjoyable. The drinks at all bars were unreal, cocktails done to a great standard and the draft beer was refreshing. Overall this 2 week trip was brilliant and we didn’t want to leave, we are hoping to be back as soon as possible. Thank you for a great trip secrets ☺️

Better than Sandals!
Our anniversary trip to Secrets Royal Beach turned out even better than we expected! We normally stay at Sandals resorts but wanted to try something different. Right when we arrived, we decided to upgrade to the preferred and it was well worth it for us. Our room was right at the preferred pool and a few steps away from the beach. We never had to get up early to find a chair at the beach which was a huge plus. The beach itself was very nice just know there will be a good amount of locals trying to sell souvenirs but they do not pest if you say no. While we were there, the amount of seaweed was very minimal and what was there they would rake up from the beach. All the restaurants had many options to choose from and all the food we had was great! The atmosphere in each of the specialty restaurants are all so different and make you feel like you are actually there in that part of the world. We mainly stayed at the smaller preferred pool since we just wanted to relax and our room was right there. It was nice because it was more relaxed compared to the other pools. All bars/bartenders were great and they did not skimp on the alcohol. The nightly entertainment was decent and the theme nights seem like they are trying to cater to everyone’s needs and not only one genre which is great. We would definitely return to this resort!

Perfect honeymoon!
We had an amazing experience at Secrets Royal Beach! The food was exceptional and the live entertainment was amazing!!
