Secrets Royal Beach will not disappoint
Our trip to Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana was awesome. Why you ask? We upgraded to the Preferred Club and that was well worth the extra charge. The check-in process was seamless. As soon as we arrived, we were taken to the preferred club lounge and offered drinks and snacks. Our paperwork was already prepared; we just had to sign. We were given a small tour of the resort and taken to our Butler. The Bulter was nice and informative and immediately made our dinner reservations for the hibachi show at the Asian restaurant. She then finished our tour of the resort and took us to our room. The room was clean, and the air conditioning definitely was working. Our luggage was delivered within 5 minutes of getting to our room. Since we were part of the Preferred Club, we had access to our own (2) pools and (2) beach areas within the resort. The bartenders were awesome at both the beach area and the pool area. Shout out to "Rander". He is awesome! The beaches were kept clean, and the pool area was also clean and well maintained. I have never been to a resort with so many pools. Quiet pool, a smaller pool with just in pool lounge chairs, the entertaining pool, the swim up bar pool and then the (2) exclusive Preferred Club pools. For breakfast, we could eat at the buffet or since we were Preferred Club, we could eat at our exclusive restaurant, which you order off a menu. The French toast was the best! In fact, we ordered more than once for the 5 days at the resort. For lunch, you had a choice of the buffet, the Barefoot Grill on the beach which had chicken, burgers, hot dogs, french fries, nachos etc. "Sexy" was a hoot and kept the food fresh and the area clean. Again, since we were Preferred Club, we could also eat lunch at our exclusive restaurant and order off the menu. All options were awesome. Then for dinner, there are 5 restaurants and the buffet. The hibachi was an awesome show, and the food was just as good. We also ate at the steakhouse which the T-Bone steak is highly recommended. The shows at night were just as good. The entertainers are very talented. There are plenty of chairs both on the beach and at the many pools on the property. No need to get up at dawn to reserve them. You also have access to clean towels throughout the day. Other than the seaweed in the ocean, the beach was great. (Resort can't control the ocean folks). But based on how clean the rest of the resort was, if they could clean the ocean, I am sure they would try. The resort did an excellent job of controlling the seaweed washed up on the beach with tractors that would come by several times a day to clean up. Our checkout process was just as seamless. Our Butler arranged for our luggage to get picked up from the room, then meet us in the lobby, took us to the Preferred Club lounge, then handed us our checkout card.

Summary of our trip
Pros-beautiful grounds at this property, pools were lovely and heated. No reservations required for dinner. Beds were very comfortable and pillows likewise. Upgraded to Preferred and glad we did for the extra pools and restaurant. Enjoyed the buffet and plenty to eat there. Pad Thai was decent in the Japanese restaurant. Salmon (noted below) also. Breakfast was great at the Preferred club, the buffet and through room service. Overall we had a nice time. Cons-Food was just okay. Salmon in the French restaurant was amazing. Service was spotty in all restaurants. Some servers were amazing, others not at all. Restaurant mgr in French restaurant needs some manners. Drinks were not as great as other 5 star properties we’ve been at. Noisy, noisy - all the time. Couldn’t get away from the boom boom music which permeates the resort all day/night long. Preferred pools helped. We’re only in our 50’s and found it too much. Couldn’t they tone it down a bit? Casino - don’t bother. Machines were old, many didn’t work. No regular payouts like on a cruise or in a regular casino and the music and sound system inside was horrible. A lot of the restaurants really need to work on the cuisine. We found a big bug in our room the last day. Suggest that the hotel picks up the trays from room service orders more frequently. Rooms are dated. We preferred Secrets the Vine and Secrets Maroma for decor. We’re glad we went but would probably go somewhere else/different next time.

Fantastic All- Inclusive Experience
What an incredible stay! The resort is immaculate, picturesque and no detail was left out in making sure you feel taken care of. The staff are beyond friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Food and drink options were great, as well as lots of fun activities. Couldn’t recommend this higher and can’t wait to come back!

So relaxing
Our stay here was amazing! So hospitable, beautiful, so many pool areas to choose from. Contemplate preferred prices because there will be an attempt to upsell you at check in, and to be honest worth looking into because a lot of pool areas are preferred only. The stay was the most relaxing stay I’ve ever had. We will definitely return. HUGE shoutout to the Sugar Reef bar team (Yoyo, Gaby, and Remy) Gabriella made these BEAUTIFUL tropical drinks (photos attached) and we were blessed enough to be the lucky guests to receive it. We loved this team! They are located in between the quiet pool and the fountain! Bendiciones y muchas gracias!
