Fabulous holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed life at the Preferred pool, looked after by Celeste, Eli, Victor & Maria - the A Team! & not forgetting the wonderful service from our butler Daniel, who provided outstanding advice on how we can bring our son & daughter to the resort next year (the standard bathrooms are not quite sibling friendly). This is an amazing resort, this was our second visit & delighted to say we have booked for next July.

Unwind in Paradise: A Must-Visit Escape!
This is a must-go to resort! Let's break this resort down. Location: North of Cancun and a 45-minute drive from the airport. We used Amstar for transportation. The resort sits on a much quieter side of the coast, but does have construction on the south side with a new resort being built. The construction did not hamper our vacation at all. Atmosphere: Once you arrive to the resort you will pass through two levels of gate security before you arrive at the check-in area. If you are Preferred, you have a separate check-in room to go to. You are met with cold towels and staff who are kind. The check-in process was smooth, but be careful of the promotional presentation after initial check-in, which took us 20 minutes to get through and made us feel quite uncomfortable as we told the lady "no thanks" multiple of times. After check-in, you enter the resort you will find great foliage, pools, restaurants, and entertainment areas. Everything was easy to get to and it had a peaceful feel to it. Rooms: We had an Oceanfront room, which was amazing for the morning sunrises! Instead of sleeping in, we would get up at 6:30 a.m. each morning to watch the sunrise from our balcony. What a beautiful view! The room itself was clean, bed was comfortable, and plenty of space for clothing. If you need multiple outlets for changing, be sure to bring a power strip. Value: For our first time to Mexico, it was worth the money spent. When we go back, we will probably not do the Preferred Club level just because we can access almost everything without being a Preferred member. Cleanliness: Overall, it was clean. There aren't many trash cans around the communal areas. Housekeeping could have vacuumed the room floors while we were there, but overall, everything was neat and tidy. Noise Level: The Oceanfront room had very little noise. It was quiet and peaceful. The social pool was where most of the day-noise was at and during the night it depended on what entertainment was being offered. Service: If you go Preferred, I cannot say enough positive things about Eddy and Rafa! They were our butlers for our stay and were phenomenal! Both were attentive, kind, and detail oriented. They helped make spa appointments, ordered us special coffee one morning, and fixed any issue that arose. Amenities: The Preferred pool was nice to have, even though we had to go down by 7:30 a.m. each morning to find chairs. By 9:00 a.m. chairs were full! The Preferred Club, the food never changed and stayed the same daily, but the staff were incredibly nice and there was good service. Highly recommend Himitsu as the top restaurant to go to! Coco Cafe was also a very nice amenity to have. In-room amenities were good too. Overall, our experience was a positive one. We enjoyed our vacation at this wonderful resort! Would we do things a bit differently next time around, yes, but we would recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for that relaxing vacation!

Incredible Family Vacation
What a great family vacation. Secrets Playa Blanca was the perfect place to spend time together and enjoy the holidays. The food and service were incredible. The views from our balcony were unbeatable. I highly recommend this resort.

Beautiful resort in prime location with excellent service
Excellent resort that gets all the details right from start to finish. Gorgeous grounds and rooms with a thoughtful design and layout. Everything is new and modern while being lush and serene. The service is outstanding and above and beyond what we expected. From the sunglasses cleaning at beach and pool to the cold towel service, it’s the little things. Plus, all loungers are nicely cushioned at all of the pools and beach w/ full service for food and bev. Rooms were spacious and luxurious with great views of the ocean and resort grounds. Everything is immaculate. Beautiful powder white sand beach and (heated) pools + multiple jacuzzis. The employees really make this resort special — shoutout to Brenda (bldg 5 concierge), Luis at Seaside, Elias at preferred pool/beach, Carlos at Himitsu, and countless others! Incredibly well staffed and never had to wait for anything. We found the service to be consistent at every restaurant too. Loved the live music in the evenings, fire pits, and lounge seating throughout the resort. Food was great and we enjoyed various options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as some of the grill days by the pool and at night. Would absolutely return in a heartbeat!

Dec 28, 2025Even in Preferred Club - playing the chair game
This resort is new and beautiful. But we were highly disappointed in the experience. We paid for preferred club because we HATE playing the chair game. We are on vacation. We don’t want to get up at 6 am to “reserve” our chairs at the pool. It’s why we always pay for Preferred Club. Found out quickly that there are way more guests than chairs even at the preferred pool. Every single day - even when out at 8:30 am - we had a struggle to find chairs at the preferred pool. They have a 45 minute policy - meaning if you are not at your chairs for more than 45 minutes, the staff will move your stuff so other guests can take the chairs. But it is not enforced. Asked our butlers every day for help. They were slow to respond and sometimes we had to ask twice. Eventually we would get a chair, but even when we pointed out a reserved chair had been unattended for 2+ hours - staff would not remove belonging and give us chair (despite 45 minute policy). We don’t ask for much on vacation. But when we pay a thousand dollars more per person for Preferred Club, we at least expect abundant chairs at the pool… Very disappointed in this resort and our experience with Preferred Club. And this is our 3rd secrets resort. 😤
