A must visit resort
The resort is unreal. The staff is extremely friendly and caring as well. For an all inclusive it is by far the best food I’ve had and their attention to detail goes way above other resorts I’ve been to. This is a must visit destination if you’re looking for a nice relaxing vacation with great service, food, and entertainment.

Absolutely Amazing!!! - Anniversary Trip to Secrets Playa Blanca
My wife and I (early 30s) travelled from Alberta, Canada to Secrets Playa Blanca for 10 nights in late November for our anniversary. Overall, this is an excellent resort, and we had a fantastic experience; we would return. Thanks to all the wonderful staff for being so attentive and making our trip a memorable one. Their anticipation of guest needs is excellent and at times felt like they were just reading my mind. This is our third visit to a Secrets resort, having previously gotten married at Secrets Bahia Mita last year. We had booked a junior ocean view suite room and were provided a beautiful room with a view of the ocean and grounds (6406). The room cleaning staff/maid service was excellent. Rooms were cleaned twice a day. The resort itself has beautiful grounds with lush greenery everywhere you walk. It is clear the staff devotes time and attention to detail to maintain the grounds. The pools are beautiful, with three main pools available – a jungle pool [which is designed for ultra relaxation], the social pool, and the ocean facing infinity pool with a nice swim up bar. We found ourselves spending the majority of our time at the social pool and the infinity pool, with the social pool always having continuous fun activities going on and a good selection of music. Shout out to the entertainment team for keeping things lively and providing a wide range of activities that cater to different types of people (morning water biking in the water; pool volley ball; water aerobics; daily 2PM pool side poker; water aerobics; etc.]. The entertainment team did a great job of keeping people engaged. We did not try the preferred club pool as we did not pay for preferred club at this resort, however did walk by it and noted that it was very quiet and generally a bit of an older crowd. The beach area is also very nice, with a beautiful boardwalk type walkway down to the beach that leads to a really cool beach side bar. There was also a nicely set up area for beach volleyball and numerous loungers + umbrellas. Food wise, we found the food to be excellent and had a great experience in every restaurant we went to. We tried all of the Ala Cartes, and found Portofino to be our favourite (their tomato soup was very good; while we also enjoyed the rack of lamb and lasagna). A close second for us would be the Japanese restaurant Himitsu (our favourite dishes were the pork gyozas and their sushi rolls). The private Tepanyaki table dining experience at the back of the restaurant was also a great experience (only comment there would be that it often seemed very difficult to get a reservation and we were a bit nervous we weren’t going to get to experience it over our 10 night stay – but ended up getting in on our second last night). Aside from dinners, the lunch restaurants were also very good (Seaside Grill and Oceana). At Seaside grill on their lunch menu, we specifically loved the shrimp tacos, Secrets Burger, and the short rib. For nightly entertainment and bars/lounges, we found that there was a wide range of options for all ages. The main Rendezvous bar that was in the centre of the resort had nightly live music going on (a mix of saxophone players, violin, and live bands depending on the night). The bar itself has an awesome lively atmosphere at night, and there were also some private fire tables on the outside area of the bar as a nice added touch. The bar service was excellent, and they even were able to make smoked old fashions with a cedar plank and blow torch!! There was also nightly shows being put on each night (magic shows; fire shows; laser shows; etc.) inside the large theatre that was on the resort. Each night we found ourselves making our way over to the main sports bar/disco called Desires. The bar itself is huge, with a good amount of TVs with sports games on both sides of the bar. They had various events on each night such as their silent disco, casino night, Karaoke night, etc. Regardless of the event, each night it would turn into a more night club type environment by 11/12. We enjoyed the variety of nightly activities and also found the selection of music to be excellent. While we found all of the staff at the resort to be friendly and provide excellent service, there are a few specific employees at the resort that deserve shot outs for making out experience amazing: - On the entertainment team, a huge shout out to both Daniel and Erika for being so engaging and fun. The entertainment team provides a wide variety of activities, however we found that the both did a great job of letting people know about the activities and also hosting/participating in them. - For the concierge/pool team, a big thank you to Freddy, who provided extremely attentive service. He always remembered us from the previous day, and provided excellent “extra” special services including glasses cleaning (FYI – they even tighten your glasses with screw drivers…) or moist face towelettes with brief massage that did not cost. Freddy was excellent with his pool side service. - For servers, while all the servers were very good, our favourite for sure was Jesus at Portofino. His attentiveness and ability to read guest needs is impeccable, and he also has a very friendly attitude. We were also very impressed with the food recommendations he provided, and our experience was seamless. If dining at Portofino, make sure to request Jesus if you can! - For bartenders, all were excellent, however specific shout outs to Mauro at the beach side bar and all the bartenders in the Rendezvous bar. All were very friendly and provided nice drink recommendations. There was no drink that any of the bartenders did not know how to make (including having clamato for caesars). Overall, the resort is stunning and the service was amazing.

Excellent Service and Experience
My stay over Thanksgiving at Secretes Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres was excellent. We stayed for 4 nights with preferred club access with butler service from Miguel and Daniel. Food was mostly excellent - favorite restaurants were Seaside Grill (bone marrow and crab cakes at dinner, shrimp and coconut rice at lunch, chia pudding during breakfast) and Bordeaux (escargot/caracoles, lamb, scallops, pork belly). Portofino's pasta was a touch overcooked. Thanksgiving dinner was an additional cost that you needed to reserve. We didn't book it (so we had a regular dinner one of the restaurants) but it was a stark contrast to the other Secrets we went to where they hosted a Thanksgiving feast buffet for all guests. Entertainment staff were great with having always-on activities. Pickleball courts were nice and I was pleasantly surprised by the paddles they had, but the courts seem to have incorrect dimensions painted (kitchen is too small). There was no tennis court despite signage indicating otherwise. I loved the separation of the beach (2 sections of the beach: the water side and the inland side) which allowed for more lounge chairs + you could play beach volleyball without risking the ball flying into the water. Our room was great, I loved the spacious balcony and hot tub (I believe exclusive to preferred club). Housekeeping did a great job with tidying up every day. The property itself is gorgeous. The resort was thoughtfully designed in a way to be very explorative like a jungle. The foliage and ponds were beautiful. For preferred club - I enjoyed the room and option of Seaside Grill for breakfast. However, the preferred club pool ended up being more crowded than the social pool (no loungers available) so we didn't use the preferred pool at all. Staff were all very warm and friendly and the resort had a great staff-to-guest ratio. Miguel as our butler was excellent. He sent us daily activities every morning, had answers for everything we asked about, was proactive, and was very knowledgable about the resort. Would highly recommend if you are lucky enough to have him assigned to you!

Best life experience !!!!!
Honestly, this was my first trip ever, and I'm 43 years old. My girlfriend has traveled extensively, and I proposed here. Being someone who is VERY demanding, especially for a first trip, I have to admit that everything was PERFECT. The hotel has all the necessary amenities, and the service is simply INCREDIBLE. If you're lucky enough to have Cassandra Sanchez as your concierge and Eduardo at Preferred Beach, you'll have the time of your life! Just because of Cassandra and Eduardo, we've decided to come back here every year with the same package.

Great all around resort with incredible staff
Playa Blanca was a great resort, both fun and relaxing largely due to our butlers Miguel and Daniel who were very helpful and attentive. Food was great, activities were plentiful and the beach was clean and spacious with nice sand. The layout of the resort was also very well thought out; the foliage and winding paths made the resort feel like there was less people than there actually were. Overall a very fun trip!
