Couples trip!
We had a great time, the resort is new and very lush. We loved it. Great rooms. Very fresh and new as the resort has only been open a little over a year. Check in was smooth. We have been to 5 different secrets and this is by far in the top 2! We will be back. We had about 12 people(6 couples) everyone was accommodating. Michael at the pool was very helpful and friendly we loved seeing him everyday. Gustavo was our personal butler in our ocean front facing room. We was very helpful and anything we needed during our stay! We will be back in the future 😃

Wow, wow & wow!
We stayed at this resort the 1st week of September, and my first impressions? Wow. We booked a swim-up suite (non-preferred room) and the room itself was amazing. So spacious, lots of storage, free mini bar (that they top-up daily), slippers and dressing gown provided, a chill out area, table to have some room service, his & hers sink. Toilet, bath and shower all separate. (A word of warning here, if you're not comfortable with who you're sharing with, this resort might not be for you - although they have sliding doors to separate the bathroom from the bedroom, the 'doors' are more like wooden slats that you slide across, and you can see through them. The toilet is fine as that has a frosted glass door, but the shower and bath, you're on full show). All amenities you could possibly want (they even had a steamer!). Like I said, we booked a swim up room, and I'll be honest, it wasn't overly private. If you laid on the sun lounger, your next door neighbours would definitely be able to see. Maybe try asking for an end-room for a little bit extra privacy if you're bothered. The resort itself is immaculate. Lots of lush green plants everywhere, lots of pools, restaurants, and the buffet breakfast is the best ive ever been to for a resort. Violinists are playing during breakfast time, the quality of food is 10/10, selection is amazing. We're huge foodies, but honestly, i was sick of the sight of food by the end (jn a good way though!). The only restaurant that let me down a bit was El Patio (the mexican restaurant). We left this till our last night and I felt the quality of food wasn't great, and bizarrely, during that night, my husband was back and forth to the toilet, and couldn't stop 'going' for 4 days straight (we had to go to the hospital in the end once we got bk to UK and he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis). I put it down to this restaurant. I will say to all men, PLEASE BRING LONG TROUSERS WITH YOU. They will turn you down if you are only wearing shorts in the evening (no matter how dressy they are). We didn't get to experience a single restaurant inside because of this and felt we missed out a little (you're made to sit in the outside dining area of each restaurant instead which isn't always great on a very humid night - there are ceiling fans but they only do the job so much). The aesthetics of this place are gorgeous though - every day I felt like i was taking photos of new things, right up until the moment we left. There is a room service 'cupboard' in your room that I thought was meant to be used for the staff to leave your room service in so you don't have to answer the door, then you put your dirty plates back in here once you're done and let them know on the app (the app is a must download by the way!). However we ordered room service twice and both times, they knocked on the door, which defeated the object of the cupboard. I felt like they only knocked in the hope of a tip (which, i will add, we felt pressured on several occasions to leave a tip, which is annoying when you pay such a high price to stay at such a resort). The resort is out on a bit of a limb, and its a half hr uber drive to the nearest shops, so bare that in mind if you like to leave your resort. Each uber ride was costing approx £7 each way (Sept 2025). Another annoyance I had with the hotel (And there werent many!) was the noise at around 5am every morning - what sounded like plates etc clattering outside our door. We were fairly near the staff cupboard in our block, but this was annoying at such an early time. I'll be honest, we didn't use any of the public pools once because we had our swim up, however they all looked fun (albeit busy), and sometimes a little loud (when they had games going on etc). But again, there are a few pools to choose from, as well as hot tubs. The entertainment we only saw 2 shows, and these were good. You watch these in an air conditioned theatre which is always appreciated! The shows could get a little cheesy, but it's fine to break the evening up a little. They also did lots of classes/workshops, which I never went to so can't comment. The staff couldn't do enough for you though - shout out to the young-ish guy with the glasses in Cafe Coco - always service with a smile, couldn't give you enough food and always so helpful. He definitely got a tip at the end! Coco Cafe is definitely somewhere you must try for a mid-morning coffee/pastry! (the crossiants are amazing!) It's open 24/7, and is perfect if you've either missed breakfast or want some mid-afternoon icecream (or even for pudding in the evening, as we did on a few occasions). The only thing I felt like this resort was lacking was somewhere to chill that overlooked the beach - somewhere in the morning/day where you could sit and read your kindle and look out onto the ocean. There is seaside grill, but this was more for dining as opposed to just chilling with a book and drink. The only option I found, (if you didnt want to be around the pool) was rendezvous, but this was in the centre of the resort (no beach view) and it got a little repetitive after a while... this is just me being picky though. I have stayed in some great 5* all inc resorts before, but this is by far my favourite, and I 100% recommend.

Our New Favorite Resort Secrets Playa Blanca
Secrets Playa Blanca was amazing from the moment we arrived! The hotel is beautiful and well designed. We recommend a Bali bed by one of the 4 pools or on the beach. The staff is friendly and attentive. Monica, Xavier, Andy, Hector, Daniel, Celeste and Elias are all gems! Whether you are there to relax, reconnect or party it up, there is something for everyone.

Excellent service at Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres
Our wedding anniversary celebration there was a special one. We loved the resort for many reasons including the food, the pool and beach, the room with the view, but most of all the service was excellent. From the time we got there till we left we were taken care of by two butlers, Antonio and Ana and they did a fantastic job taking care of us and answering any questions we had and that made our stay very special. Having breakfast at Seaside Grill with Luis was also an amazing experience every morning. Would definitely recommend the resort !
