Nov 26, 2025First All Inclusive
This was our first all inclusive resort. I was a little disappointed. Our rooms were not ready when we arrived(which was fine-we were early). We went to grab something to eat while we waited. Our first experience at Market Cafe was not the best. One of our guests were not dressed in the dress code for the restaurant and the women was very rude about it. First timers so we didn't know where to go or what to do and she was not helpful. Saw her again for dinner and was the same attitude. The room was nice, it needs more lights though. Bed was comfy and we had enough room. The rooms were clean. The buses were WONDERFUL. I was told most resorts do not have those. Sometimes we would be waiting 5-10 minutes but most of the time it was within a few minutes. The bus drivers were wonderful too. Our biggest complaints we had were the restaurants and bars. It was very difficult to get a table for more than 2-4 people sometimes. There were two nights we didn't eat until 9:00. They ran out of certain food a few nights and they would run out of alcohol at certain times/bar. You don't have very many places to eat. The coffee place was great. The morning buffet was honestly the best meal of the day. Also, the Sushi place was fantastic! It just took a bit to get our food. We did do massages and those were great as well! The night time entertain was good. Something to do. We did the JETSKI tour through the resort. That was one of the best things! You get to see the monkeys (bring bananas or apples to feed them) and go into the caves. You do need to do the earlier slots to see those things. Overall, I don't know if i would come back to this resort. The only upside is it is adults only.

The BEST honeymoon at Secrets Papagayo
Secrets Papagayo was a dream honeymoon destination. Upon our arrival, the staff welcomed us with open arms and warm greetings. The stay only got better from there. The resort had wonderful restaurants, activities, and transportation shuttles. My husband and I participated in lots of the resorts activities: snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, pool basketball, water aerobics, nightly shows, and the list goes on! There is something for every guest at this resort! I cannot say enough about how friendly and kind the staff were. We enjoyed getting to know each bar tender, waiter, and all other workers. We hope to one day return for another wonderful experience at this state of the ark resort!

Excellent! Romantic! Extraordinary!
Our trip to Costa Rica and our stay at Secrets Papagao was one of the best vacations we have had. We met Keslye, who became our personal concierge, on our first full day and she made sure all to make us feel like VIP guests. She helped to set up our romantic dinner, she scheduled our massages and reserved a cabana for us for my husband's birthday. Keslye also made sure we had all the information necessary for our excursion. All of the staff was excellent and we appreciate each one of them.

Excellent Service for Our Stay in Costa Rica
This was our first visit to Costa Rica, and staying at Secrets Papagayo was an excellent way to experience the country for the first time. The service throughout the resort was warm and attentive, and we really enjoyed the variety and quality of the food and drinks. The adults-only atmosphere helped make our trip peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we were hoping for. We definitely look forward to returning to this brand on future vacations. My sister recommended booking our airport transfers and outdoor tours with NextTripCR.com and it turned out to be a great decision. They took really good care of us from the moment we arrived. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and we loved the rainforest tour where we were able to spot sloths in their natural habitat. Our kids absolutely fell in love with Costa Rica. We also did ATVs and ziplining, and the places they took us to were not crowded at all, which made the experience even better. Everything was private, comfortable, and the prices were very reasonable. For anyone planning a stay at Secrets Papagayo, I definitely recommend using NextTripCR for transfers and tours. They helped make our trip unforgettable.
