I stayed at Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica on April 24, 2025. While the staff was friendly and provided good service, several aspects of the resort were disappointing. There were ants in the room, which made the stay uncomfortable. The food wasn’t hot, lacked variety, and overall didn’t have much flavor. The beach was not welcoming—there were no chairs available, making it difficult to relax. The pool closed at 7 PM, which felt unusually early for a resort, and there was no nightlife or evening entertainment to enjoy. Additionally, the on-site store was extremely overpriced—sunblock, for example, was being sold for $46. For the cost of staying here, I expected a much higher standard in comfort, amenities, and overall experience.

This was our first trip to an all inclusive resort and it was amazing. I was nervous before the trip that I would get bored of staying at the resort. It was the exact opposite. We had so much fun. Great activities and atmosphere during the day. Then there was fun shows at night. We will be planning our next trip to a Secrets resort soon.

Secrets
The vacation was amazing. This area is secluded, but you can go to other places if you want. There was a lot of variety in food choices and activities. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The area around the pool is very slippery though, especially when wet.

Paradise
fantastic resort, close to paradise, spent one week, our room was high up but the regular transport was regular and easy to use. Nightly entertainment was the only weakness as seemed to be the same dance troupe. Foos and drink were very varied and no booking was needed.

Do not listen to the negative reviews
We stayed here for the past two weeks in April, travelled from Ireland with my best friend. What a wonderful resort with the best staff I have ever met, not a bad word to say about anything and I have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean, special shout out to our tui rep Roberto, amazing service by Armando at the seaside grill and to our mini bar man Ashton, that said all the staff are amazing, genuinely friendly and helpful, room service amazing after long days in the rainforest, the guides on the tours are exceptional also, I would not hesitate to stay here again, thank you so much to all for the holiday of a lifetime 🤩 😀
