    A true Pura Vida Vacation!

    Beautiful property but the cliffs are no joke. Not an easy property to walk around but beautiful views and the shuttles were always available. Great food and service. With this being an all-inclusive, I would have liked more wine choices. I was only offered the Cabernet or Merlot House wine, which was drinkable, but just ok! You could buy other wine but didn't find it quite fair to have to pay extra just to get a decent glass of wine. I don't really drink hard liquor, but the local Imperial beer was good. Visit JP at the pool bar, he's awesome! And lastly, beware of the dreaded sale pitch. They will try to get you to sit thru a 90-minute presentation to sell you something...apparently non a time share but when asked they were too sketchy about it, so my husband and I decided to walk away. The people of Costa Rica are wonderful. We enjoyed our stay.

    4-Star Resort at Best

    Good food, beautiful location, but poor quality beverages and mediocre concierge service. Beverages are made with sugary fruit syrups instead of fresh fruit or fresh-squeezed juice, which is not appropriate for cocktails at a "5-star" luxury resort. Margaritas should be made with fresh-squeezed lime juice, not concentrate from a bottle. Food is great, even if there is an odd Central-American spin on some of the international cuisines. They'll nickle-and-dime you for a lot of things you'd assume should be included in an all-inclusive resort. Using some of the beach chairs, booking the specialty restaurant one day in advance, or having any of their "special" romantic dinners all costs extra or requires paying for the "preferred" package. Careful, if you're a couple then they'll give you the "we swear it's not a timeshare!" hard-sell on their membership plan. The entertainment team is fantastic, always down to play volleyball or pickleball if you want a game, running enjoyable events each evening. The shows are ok, not amazing. The concierge service is a joke. "If you need anything, just text me," but then proceeds to fail to deliver multiple promises.

    Great holiday destination and a wonderful resort. Everything was very good. Very well run resort, good food, great entertainment, and beautiful scenery!

    A beautiful Honeymoon in Papagayo Peninsula!!

    We chose Secrets Papagayo Costa Rica to celebrate our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, everything was incredible. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet, we could hear howler monkeys from the room, which made the experience unforgettable. The staff was always warm and friendly, and the restaurants were excellent. On a few evenings we went to Playa del Coco for dinner just to try something different, and it was a great addition to our stay. For our outdoor activities, we booked with Chris from NextTripCR.com, who is highly recommended in the area for personalized tours. We didn’t want to visit crowded places, and choosing them was the right decision. We did their most popular rainforest tour, visited beautiful waterfalls, saw sloths, and also enjoyed some adventure activities. I highly recommend Secrets Papagayo for your days in Costa Rica, pura vida!
