  Not What Expected

  We were not impressed with this resort at all. We will not be returning. From the horrible smell in the shower (think wet rag) to the quality and selection of the food at the Market Buffet and so many things in between, this resort was not what we were expecting.

  Unsure on Moxche

  The resort was beautiful, but I would recommend looking into other Secrets locations before choosing this one. Long waits for restaurants all times of the day, no poolside service, elevators were an inconvenience. Preferred here came with little to no perks. Our room overlooked an employee parking lot with a sliver of an ocean view. Room was very pretty and the pools were nice, but overall service was disappointing.

  We had a lovely trip! Enjoyed our room and the variety of pools. Roberto especially made our time wonderful. Very kind and personable and he spent a lot of time ensuring we had a good time. We were really thankful for him!

  Amazing, Modern & Luxurious Stay at Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen

  We recently stayed in a non-preferred tropical view room at Secrets Moxché, and from start to finish, the trip exceeded our already high expectations. The room itself was beautiful—luxurious, modern, and very comfortable. Ours didn’t have a balcony tub, but honestly, we’d had one at another Secrets resort previously and never used it, so it wasn’t a downside for us. There is some construction happening next door, but we could still see the sea from our room. In fact, we were glad we chose the tropical view as it seemed much quieter and more relaxing than overlooking the central area with the pools. The resort grounds are stunning—super modern with a natural, upscale ambience that feels both stylish and peaceful. The beach isn’t as nice as the other Secrets property we’ve stayed at, and we had read that before coming, but we still thought it was lovely and spent most of our days between the beach and the main pool. Both were great spots to relax. Now the best part: the food and drinks. The food was 10/10—absolutely exceptional, and we couldn’t fault a thing. We ate at every restaurant except the Italian, and all were impressive. We also did the Asado night, which was a fun addition. The breakfast buffet was our favourite, with so much choice and great quality. Drinks were also excellent—and definitely not watered down! My favourites were the Miami Vice and blackberry margaritas. My husband did miss having a Guinness, but with so many options, he still found plenty to enjoy. Service was genuinely fantastic, although a couple of restaurants seemed understaffed in the evenings. On our first night we went later and had a long wait, so after that we went around 6pm. Even then there was usually a queue, but it moved fairly quickly. The café was super convenient—fast service and great coffee. One small downside was the mosquitos—I got quite a few bites near the end of our stay, which was frustrating. Bring bug spray! Thankfully, the onsite pharmacy had some spray and a soothing cream, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. We didn’t leave the resort at all, as we were after a relaxing, stress-free holiday—and Secrets Moxché delivered exactly that. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and we’d happily return. Highly recommend! 🌴✨

  Pleasant but not 5 stars!

  The hotel is a little tired the pools need repair, our room was lovely but the aircon was far too cold and the room felt damp a lot of the time. It was disappointing to see so much of the venue being shut for private functions almost every day. The infinity pool was only open for us 5 of the 11 days we were here. With only 5 restaurants on site to find one of those closed in the evening meant eating was difficult and you are pushed towards limited street food. Not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. You either had to be down at 6pm to queue for the restaurant or wait at least an hour -90 minutes for food. However the entertainment team were fabulous, Danny, Jessica, Ari, Sergio, Christian, Miguel and Jaqueline really made the difference - the spin classes and pool activities and the evening entertainment were what made this 4 stars rather than 3. Thank you team you were fabulous!
