Amazing beautiful resort
I recently stayed at this resort for a wedding, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The property itself is beautiful — peaceful, clean, and wasn't overcrowded. The food & drinks was delicious with plenty of great options, and the service was top-tier. Every staff member I interacted with was kind, attentive, and professional. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I slept like a baby!), and the overall experience was just effortless and relaxing. You can tell they care about quality in every detail. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommend! 🌴✨

Best party! 🎊
My husband and I had the most incredible experience at Secrets Moxché! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. A huge shoutout to Gabriella, Miguel, Julio, Daniella, and Regina from the poolside team — you all made every day so much fun! My husband especially loved playing volleyball and pool basketball with you — such great energy and smiles all around. We also want to recognize Ramon at Ember and the Japanese restaurant for his exceptional service. He was attentive, kind, and made every dinner feel truly special. This resort is absolutely beautiful, but it’s the people who make it extraordinary. Thank you all for making our vacation so memorable — we can’t wait to come back! 🌴💫

Beautiful resort...just a meh experience
The resort is aesthetically appealing but that is about the most positive thing that I can say. Most of the staff is AMAZING and there were a few that didn't need to work in customer service! We did travel with a large group and so we expected to have some issues with getting us all in at dinner especially at one table, but it was difficult even we offered to break up our group and sit at different tables. There was ALWAYS a wait of anywhere from 1-3 hours. We had dinner one time as a group at the Italian restaurant and that was only because one of friends purchased a bottle of tequila to get our spot. The appetizers were great, and the entrees were just meh at the Italian restaurant. We tried different times to eat dinner with no avail. The last night we were there, 4 members of our group finally got to eat at Ember after a two hour wait, the rest of us were over it at this point in time. Thankfully the poolside snacks were good! Breakfast at the buffet was always solid, room service was good although it did take over an hour to receive. The housekeeping staff came daily, and rooms are very clean. The elevators are pretty confusing as well; you have to take this one to get here and then go to another one to go back up and so on and so on. There were several people that were also confused on this and even some staff members agreed with us that the elevator situation can use some help! The UVC staff was pretty pushy, and we are already members. The staff at check-in acted like we were a bother when we all checked in as well. We liked the resort but would not come back due to the issues with trying to eat at dinner and the elevators. If you have any issues with walking on uneven surfaces, this is not the resort for you.

Here's why you SHOULDN'T book....
Context: Been to Mexico (and other carribean) All Inclusives 8+ times. Visited Secrets Maroma Beach 2 years ago. Booked this for an 8 night stay for our honeymoon. Why you shouldn't book: Room - sliding full height shade between bedroom and toilet was broken, they knew (probably an issue in most rooms) and did nothing to resolve it, left very little privacy and lit up bedroom in middle of night/morning while partner was trying to sleep. Arranged honeymoon bliss package, no banner on the door until 2 days before we left (had to ask 3 times), and no sign of wine or fresh flowers/rose petals on the bed. You probably won't use the balcony bath, no jacuzzi and very very exposed to entire resort and to your neighbours (you can see along the entire row from the edge of your balcony). Room service - takes 45mins during the day, ordered once after midnight and it took 75mins (even though in-room tablet said 30mins), then when it arrived they forgot 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered. They randomly switch off tablet ordering too, so you have to call up, probably to reduce the order volume. More sneaky tricks that result in false promises and poor experiences. Restaurants - regularly had to wait over 45-60mins for all restaurants (don't forget entry is from outside, it's 30°C / 90F and you're all dressed up, waiting to get into the AC restaurant). What is the point of advertising "no reservation needed" then making guests wait this long in the heat - we made the most of it, but for many it would be a real night killer when you sit down to dinner and you're dripping in sweat and the missus' hair has gone frizzy! Food - it's really good quality at the buffet (restaurants too, specifically Ember steakhouse and Bisou French, avoid Mexican and Italian), BUT just be warned if you go to breakfast at 10.30am (closes at 11am), you'll get a 20 minute wait and then you'll have 10 mins to eat - and I mean 10 minutes. It closes at 11am, regardless of the queue or when you entered, stations close and they don't really care about being over subscribed at this time. It's fine, just go earlier I hear you say, yes we did... but it should be advertised like this. Either last entry at 10.30am, serve to 11am or have more staff and keep serving breakfast until 11.30am. As a customer you don't want to try to predict the queue and account for a wait time. No reservations is not a good thing if you have to wait so long. Drinks - very very sugary and poorly made. Take this one with a pinch of salt, maybe we picked the wrong things, but I'm a Geordie and the wife is Irish so we're really not usually that fussed. We struggled to find "our drink" at this place, everything was just so sweet it was like drinking alcopops, very hard to find a decent cocktail. If you've already booked, ask for an espresso martini (these are still sweet but aren't bad) or just do spirit + mixer. Pools - beautiful, but covered in ants due to all the surrounding palms and greenery. Resort even provides anti-insect spray in room (that's how bad it is), but this doesn't work and these are like gold dust in the resort. We were covered in bites (maybe 50 each) by 3rd day. If you go preferred (as we did), the top floor restaurant and pool is great for the lack of ants/bugs - if you've already booked, spend your time here to avoid the bites. The UPSELL - they completely closed the most popular restaurant (Ember - steakhouse) on our last night (Saturday) without warning....for a private event!!! By far the best restaurant and we were hoping to go again on our last night. I've never seen an all inclusive so money hungry that they would just close and re-sell guest restaurants to a private event (think it was a wedding, which they closed a pool for earlier in the day) without any warning. There was also no show/entertainment the previous Saturday as it was upsell only (120USD for private dinner and show). They flog "private dinners" (with the mosquitos) when you sit round the pool during the day - telling you only one space left when in reality nobody books them. Everything is an UPSELL at this resort and it completely defeats one of the main purposes of all inclusives - not having to make decisions about money and experiences. In summary: So much more I can comment on, but trust me - we're not picky but we know what standards and value looks like. These things above are the main selling points of this hotel and they are way below what you should get for your money... just choose somewhere else. I give positive reviews when places nail it, if they don't quite hit the mark I usually stay quiet. If the experience is absolutely awful based on the cost (and I got a preferred room via a 3rd party for way less than direct hotel rate)....then I leave an accurate but negative review. IHG/Hyatt group have turned this brand into an upsell money maker and in the process of lost all the Mexican hospitality I've had from other providers like Excellence Group or others. There's loads to choose from, don't pick Secrets and definitely don't pick Moxche. *also, mentioned all this on the IHG feedback form and the manager replied saying "thanks, feedback assists us in improving our service and property" - nice one.

Most amazing holiday
The most amazing holiday I’ve ever had. Two weeks of sunshine & peace but lots of entertainment thanks to the amazing team. Regina and Julio have made the trip especially good for us as a couple, as I am not interested in the aqua sports but felt very involved by these two despite not participating though my partner played all of the volleyball and basketball each day. Monica, Jessica, Sergio and Miguel were always friendly faces asking about your day and recommending activities around the resort and beyond. Christian and Gabriela were also so friendly and welcoming, along with Aranza, Cristian, Jose and Uziel. The food in each restaurant is amazing, with no complaints for any restaurant. Restaurants and pools are noticeably busier at weekends but this didn’t affect us on our trip as there is always food available. The rooms are amazing and the quality provided throughout the hotel is outstanding, this is the perfect place for any type of trip - couples or friends, and even as a lone traveller the entertainment team would ensure you never felt alone. Every member of staff works so hard to make this an amazing place to visit.
