  Romantic hotel...but..

  We really enjoyed our stay — the hotel has beautiful infrastructure, very clean and comfortable rooms, excellent pool, beach, and romantic spaces all over. That said, be ready to bring plenty of cash for tips, as staff seem to expect them constantly. It would help if Hyatt made gratuity policies clearer or pay better to his employees. The coffee options and taste was just average, not what you’d expect at this level. We had also pre-booked services for our anniversary (like breakfast with mimosas), but they never happened, and the $120 credit we expected to use wasn’t applied. Our advice: enjoy the resort, but don’t pre-book extra services before arrival, and clarify everything at check-in.

  Beautiful Secret Maroma

  We were visiting Secret Maroma in August 2025. The resort is very beautiful and clean. We were lucky to not have almost any seaweeds during the stay. Resort has very good entertaining shows. The food is good. The World cafe for breakfast has every day the same choice of food. Oceania is under construction so they use World cafe's space for diners. They are not organized there and seafood is not good. The staff in the resort is very polite, nice and clean. Over all we had excellent experience.

  Great resort

  Great reasort highly recommend if you are visiting Mexico rivieramaya area definitely need to check this resort out staff and service are excellent

  Almost a 5 star but the menu just missed the mark

  Went as a girl's trip. Service, landscaping, cleanliness, the beach, the pool, the activities, the ambiance ,everything excellent except for the food and alcohol. We did NOT have the preferred club. Not only us but other guests commented that the alcohol must be watered down in the bottles. You end up drinking a LOT of sugar water. While the food was definitely good it was also disappointing as follows: the carpaccio at the italian resturant was cooked around the edges, the squid ink pasta while colored black but did not have that deep fish flavor that squid ink imparts that you would experience in Venice, the paella did NOT have any saffron or peas, in the asian resturant the sushi had so much rice in the rolls that honestly you had to dissect to find any fish, they do not evidently use Japanese sticky rice, we ordered sake and for that we had to pay $20., in the Mediterranean resturant there weren't any offerings of dolmas or spanokopitas, or pita bread or humus, couscous,calamari or even a greek salad .... we tried octopus in every resturant and it was always overcooked and chewy- it really doesn't have to come out that way, the sea bass was overcooked at two of the resturants and that is such an expensive fish to waste. The consistently best preparations were the daily breakfast buffet and the poolside made to order pizza. We never made it to the lunch buffet. We would still highly recommend this resort but if you are a foodie try Le Blanc. They use huge tractors to keep the beach clean of seaweed which is far better than the riding lawnmower sized equipment used at next door resorts. There weren't any beach vendors bothering you. We never had any problem getting pool or beach chairs and we didn't show up till 1000 each day.The pools close at 7 which is too bad because it is so DANG beautiful that time of day.

  Magical stay at Secrets Maroma Beach

  Never have I left a resort in all my years of traveling with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. Secrets Maroma Beach is magical due to the attention and genuine care of its staff. One of the first people we met upon our arrival was the bellman, Jaime. He gave us a tour of the property before taking us to our building with a huge smile on his face. We next met our building concierge, Eli. While we didn’t require much from him during our stay, Eli always stopped to visit with us as we passed by his desk. At the lobby bar standouts were Jessica (she made our last night extra special by presenting us with an engraved lock for the heart, champagne, chocolates, and pictures), Clairee, Alejandro, and Eduardo. Esteban, the manager of the Italian restaurant, remembered us each time we returned. Hector, Sergio, and Anna went above and beyond treating us like family. At the pool bar, Andreas and Javier knew our drinks and were so friendly. The entire pool service staff is great. Please be sure you tip them. They sure work hard. And finally the entertainment crew. Wow, what a group they are! Omar, you stole our hearts. He also presented us with an engraved lock for the heart and champagne after our trip out on the catamaran. Omar also made a Truman the Tiger (the mascot for Missouri University) picture frame for my husband. He presented that to us right before we left on Saturday. Fritz, Sebastian, and Ricardo all made us smile and brought us a lot of joy. The property is laid out well and is wide open. You don’t feel confined in the jungle. The beach is absolutely pristine. There is plenty to do during the day if you start to get “sunned out”. They even have a miniature golf course. The entertainment at night is lively. The lobby bar has plenty of seating and its air conditioned. If you don’t want a big breakfast, you can head to the coffee bar. It offers a variety of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. We stayed in a junior swim up suite. Our pool was always nice and cool and a refreshing way to end our day in the sun. Again, a beautiful resort with a beautiful staff. We will be returning!
