Heaven on Earth
Secrets Maroma was a wonderful experience! The service was excellent and fast. This establishment is pristine and extremely well staffed. Also, the staff is very friendly and most people speak English, which is helpful if you are not bilingual. The property itself is huge and in immaculate shape! The food is fresh & delicious as well. I loved the pool and especially loved the beach. They have a bunch of tiki houses to lay under to keep you out of the sun and it’s really clean. While this resort is expensive. You definitely get what you pay for at secrets. Highly recommend and I would definitely go back!

A Wonderful Anniversary in Paradise
My wife and I celebrated our 28th anniversary at Secrets Maroma Beach. The weather was very co-operative, our preferred accomadations with ocean view and its amenities met all expectations. The food was way above average and the service beyond reproach . Our conceirge , Felipe Cruz was five star as was Erden our waiter on the beach. The UVC team of Issac and Zayda were super helpful in making our stay even better and our hats off to them as well. Lastly, the Halloween themes and Day of the Dead always touch us as we were married October 31. Only minor downside was the noise level ......boom, boom, boom at the pool area all day long and into the early evening is great for some but others may enjoy the peace and quiet or even a different genre of music. Outdoor festivities in the middle of the complex til 9 pm with the associated bass boom boom makes sitting on your preferred balcony enjoying the early evening and dusk while sipping a cocktail, enjoying the tub , or listening to the ocean and night sounds not so enticing our only downer.

A lovely place but a bit of work to do to get a full 5 star rating.
Overall we had a fab 10 days here, meeting some nice people and the staff in the main were super friendly. The weather was great, only raining for one afternoon in 10. Our 5th trip to Cancun, but not for 11 years - and our first to this hotel. I’ll split my feedback between positives and less positives. Positives - Friendly entertainment staff, - Lots of daily activities with no pressure to partake (bracelet making, volleyball, pool spinning, painting), - Plenty of Sun loungers and comfy ones too, - Pretty spa with plenty of availability, - Great big rooms, lots of amenities and plenty of water and mini bar filled daily (beer and soft drinks), - Lots of evening entertainment (great Casino night, silent discos, and regular singers). - Amazing in hotel ghost walk for 2 nights - including a headless horseman. Was really impressive. - Ice cream and a fruit kebab van daily around the pool and a glass cleaning service. Less Positives - Plastic glasses used not just round the pool (as expected) but in the main lobby bar, and the sports bar. A lot of people were moaning about this - not 5 star and why do you need plastic inside? I often asked for glass and the refused - mostly for martinis. - Poor quality bubbles and mixers (tonic etc) and not a varied choice of wine. Also when your wine glass is filled you didn’t get very much at all. Better quality beverages overall at prior 5 star Cancun Hotels (e.g. Iberostar), - Sports bar - poor quality pool table and darts board - not expensive to replace so why not? Often dead. - Paid for a sea view, but had to look around the side to see the sea. Balcony faced on-going construction work. - Yes the construction work is on-going so some restaurants were closed. But worst thing was the unattractive view from the pool and the drilling noises. The music shielded some of this but it wasn’t great - we’d hoped it would be ended but when peeking in, there was a way to go. - Up to a 45 min wait for a speciality restaurant and yet when seen in many tables were empty - maybe short staffed? - 2nd week in, up to a 15 min wait for breakfast. - Spa v expensive - $225 for 80 min massage. - Lots of bites - mosquito central. Not the hotels fault of course. - Lots of seaweed on the beach. - Beach lunch restaurant needs some love, just a platform under a marquee - could be so much more given the sea facing location.
