Disappointed Honeymooners
We went for our honeymoon and it was very disappointing. The resort staff did not seem to care about concerns we had with our broken toilet and jets in the tub that didn't work in the first night. The owners child had a wedding the first night we arrived and they had a very large beach party until 6am which kept the majority of the guests awake all night including ourselves after a long day of travel. The staff knew it was our honeymoon and were not helpful with resolving those issues during our stay. The food had some mediocre options but generally wasn't good. The redeeming features of this resort is it was clean, the pool was lovely and the water activities included were great - Alejandro was the best. The beds and pillows were the most uncomfortable ive experienced anywhere. Overall i expected more of a secrets hotel and was a bit sad that this was our honeymoon location.

Beware of private events during your stay
The resort was friendly and staff were great however there was one bad experience that impacted the whole hotel. On November 22 there was a private wedding event that took up much of the pool area. All paying hotel guests were restricted to the lower part of the resort pool area where lawn chairs were relocated to the lawn area and dirt. There was no warning to guests nor any communication from staff that this was going to happen. Also part of the beach was restricted. The music and party (over 250 guests) lasted until 6 am the next morning. Needless to say there was no sleep that night because of the music at the outside party.

Unforgettable paradise ! Can’t wait to come back !
Terrestrial paradise! Our 5th year in a row back, The location. The atmosphere, cleanliness but more importantly are the Staff who go above and beyond to ensure you are happy. A few honourable kudos go to. The one and only Alejandro#1 (animation team), Amir, Daniel(concierge team ) who greeted us with a daily smile, Julio beach king, Nancy the margarita queen, Nemorio, Yahir, Victoria, Andrea, Marla, Berto from Bordeaux, David from Cincin and Angela from the grill. Gracias a vostros !

First Time in Huatulco – A Great Experience!
This was my first time in Huatulco, and it did not disappoint. We arrived around 6:30 PM after a direct flight. The airport is small, customs were fast, and the tarmac loading and unloading made it very easy—much less hectic than Cancun. In my opinion, the humidity here is also less intense than the Cancun area. The weather was perfect: sun every day for 9 days, with no clouds, and temperatures around 31–32°C. The shuttle to the hotel took about 25 minutes, and check-in was quick. The lobby is open-air and functional—nothing fancy. The resort itself isn’t super upscale; maybe it was in its heyday, but it’s showing its age a bit, with chipped concrete on some steps and a few burnt-out lights the first night. Be careful around the foyer steps—it’s easy to miss them. The resort has slight elevation changes, so those with mobility challenges may find it a bit difficult to get around. The beach is nice, with slightly coarser sand, and the water can be a bit rough in front of the resort. No seaweed to speak of, which was a big plus. One thing I loved: this resort is a “sleep-in” crowd. Getting beach or pool chairs was never an issue, and there are unlimited towels. Beach service was excellent, with Julio and Angel providing great service. We tried all the resort restaurants and preferred Oceana (David the waiter was super attentive and friendly) and the French restaurant. Other restaurants were a bit too salty for our taste. Breakfast and lunch buffets were very good, though I wish there were more buffet options for dinner instead of only à la carte. Our room was average but comfortable—perfect for a good night’s sleep. One caution: sand fleas were present on the beach, though there were no mosquitoes. I got up early for beach workouts and ended up with 12+ bites on my ankles, lower legs, and back—bug spray is a must if your up early and on the beach. Overall, I would probably return, though I might try another resort next time. I highly recommend taking a cab into La Crucecita for local food; it’s safe and only a 10-minute ride. We also did a boat trip with Captain Cándido, which was reasonably priced and allowed us to create our own itinerary. We swam in secluded bays with golden, silky sand—beautiful and unique. I’d definitely hire a boat just to to go back there. In conclusion, the hotel is only 30 minutes from the airport, easy to check in, and perfect for enjoying time on the beach rather than rushing off. Highly recommend for a relaxing beach vacation!

Great Views, poor taste
Use extreme caution if planning a trip here. Our first day was amazing. We love the views, service was amazing, the ocean swim was heavenly. Unfortunately this only lasted one day. On day two, we basically lost 2/3 of the resort to a very large wedding for 3 days. Staff was telling guests that it was the owner’s daughter’s wedding but I wasn’t buying it. I think it was some big wig that paid big big $ to shut the pace down. But that didn’t stop the resort from blocking dates to actual paying guests. This wedding was one day but it took the staff 2 days to set up so they cornered off a section off the pool for us paying guests. 2/3 of the pool area gone. All the lounge chairs gone. The pool cafe was closed right down and tarped off. They made a make shift cafe in the woods under tents. Was so hot and the cools were sweating so bad it was disgusting. Then the wedding day. Two of the main restaurants were closed and us paying guests couldn’t get to that side of the resort. Then the party came. Lazers, spot lights, VERY loud music until 6am. Yes you read that right. 6 am. People were putting towels on the lounge chairs in the morning getting ready for the day and the party was still going on. I hardly slept all night. Our complaints went completely ignored. The day after the wedding, the staff worked hard to get everything back to normal fast and did a great job but too little too late. We lost 3 days and had a sour taste for the resort the rest of the time. The staff, and the people of Huatulco are incredible. Best in Mexico and it’s a shame that the resort did this and brought shame to the region. All to some rich dude! Oh and last thing. Food was not great. The Mexican restaurant and Mexican food was amazing but other than that, terrible. The Service from the staff was top class. They are the ones that save the rating I gave to not be a 1.
