Breathtaking views
We loved our vacation here! The resort is very relaxing with breathtaking views. Pools are large with great water temperatures - not too warm but not cold. They span the front of buildings and along the beach separated in the middle - activities, swim up bar, more party atmosphere on one end and quiet, relaxing on the other. Some tiles do need attention, though. There was no problem getting a chair in the shade by the pool or the beach anytime of day. Beach is beautiful! The sand is coarse and gets hot so plan to wear water shoes or sandals while walking. The water is swimmable at times, but can be rough. Snorkeling is to the left of bay when it’s not too wavey. There’s a path to the left(east) that leads to a secluded bay that very scenic too. Each restaurant we ate in had great food. We really enjoyed the Oaxacan menu at Tamarindo. Room service was fast and good. Mezcal tasting is fun and informative. Staff throughout the resort is excellent. The go above and beyond. Rooms are nice. Always clean. Snacks and refreshments always restocked. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Lovely turndown service with chocolate and rose petals. There were bands a couple nights and other nightly shows. Most over around 10 or 11pm. We want to go back soon!

A good resort
Secrets huatulco is a good location for a simple basic vacation. The views are stunning. The rooms are good and most have ocean views. The food is good but not all restaurants are open every night. The sand on the beach is coarse and soft making walking more challenging, a heads up for older less mobile guests. Higher level uvc members may be disappointed in the level of service. No butlers and few benefits. Pools and common areas showing wear. Only 2 of the 3 elevators worked resulting in congestion going to the pools and beach. We really enjoyed our trips into town, especially Santa Cruz. Felt safe and welcome. A knowledge of Spanish is useful as many of the merchants are not English speaking. We really enjoyed the area and will likely return but to a different resort

Clean & beautiful views, otherwise mediocre
This resort had absolutely stunning views and was super clean. It’s showing its age slightly and food was just mediocre. All resort staff were extremely pleasant, we loved Antonio from entertainment. He went out of his way to connect with us and ensure we were having fun. Jimena was also great. There are lots of umbrellas at the pool so we had no issues getting shade. Beach is clean but sand is rocky. The ocean was tricky to swim in because of the strength of the waves. All in all, we had a good experience but pricy for what you get.
