Dec 20, 2025We had a great vacation, a few things could have been be better. If you are a visual person you will notice more.
The location is fabulous! The beach is the best, sitting in the shade with the nice breeze and pretty calm ocean, snorkeling from the beach, it’s great, thoroughly enjoyable. If you get Julio Forever! JULIO FOREVER! You are in the best hands!! He is absolutely AMAZING AND BRINGS THOSE ICY BEVERAGES OFTEN AND WITH A SMILE!! Huge praise for Julio, see him at the beach or at the grill house/pool. He is THE BEST!!! 🌟 #superstar 💫 We had a 5 star stay with a few exceptions, the property is tired and ready for a revamp, some attention to detail is needed and lacking in some areas. The food is very hit or miss! We had some great meals, some not so great and some downright disappointing. Overall the staff is amazing, friendly and hoping to please, there are a few prunes who are not happy to make you happy. Mostly you see happy welcoming faces! I’m not letting it ruin my day in paradise. We had a fabulous, relaxing vacation.

The best part of this resort was the excellent staff who work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Every staff member who served us was professional, kind, diligent and eager to do their job. We loved hanging out poolside, snorkling, and paddleboarding in the bay. Food quality and bar service was consistently excellent. We booked preferred club option and found that the little extra it offered was not worth the added expense.

Good holiday
We had a good holiday, the staff is very good at this hotel. The hotel is getting run down in most areas and requires some general maintenance. Elevators had severe issues - only 1 elevator running out of 3 & only holding 4 people at a time - with the lobby and restaurants 9 floors above the pool and beach area this was a painful part of the stay for many guests. This has been our favorite place to stay for many years but would consider other hotels after this experience as it was not the same value as it used to be.

Underwhelming
The extra money spent on the “Secrets” experience would be better spent elsewhere. Location and weather were amazing but the facility is not being maintained, service is variable, food quality is sporadic. Do not upgrade to preferred membership, you basically get access to one restaurant for breakfast and a private room with bar and snacks where the bartender and beverages were not always stocked or available.

Beautiful
We loved our experience! The beach is one of the best we’ve ever been to and being able to snorkel it was a gift we never expected! It would be nice to have more quiet options available for evening entertainment so bring ear plugs if you like an early night, but overall it was wonderful.
