Disappointing paid for a 5 star got a 3.5 maybe 4 at best
The staff was amazing, especially Daniel pool concierge, this young man will be going places, the weather was awesome… The food was 3.5 at best, most beef is not cuttable or chewable. The place is dated and maintenance is lacking many tiles missing in the pool, cracks, painting, furniture, acrylic chairs in the French restaurant are not comfortable. The outdated mindset that make men wear pants and shoes for dinners is a tad ridiculous, where dress shorts, men’s sandles(not flip flops) and dress shirts would suffice, as they allow women to when wear anything… Communication is non exhistant. Resultants closed or moved to a different restaurant etc.. There was a special wedding which inconvienced the paying guests, they shut down 2/3 of the pools, the 2 best restaurants etc.. most of the staff was put in place to serve the wedding party (apparently it was the owners son)the paying guest were treated poorly, and they partied and disturbed 70% of the PAYING GUEST parting loudly until 6am… prior to the wedding since they jammed all gust around one pool, they started removing towel from chairs if you were gone more than 30minutes, which I agree if a towel is left for hours on end,but somewhere only gone to eat… other resort we have been at have cards they place on your chair which state we will remove these belongings if this card is not removed after an hour your towels will be removed and belongings will be put in a bag to be picked up at.. a location, then the staff pull do rounds every hour or 2. That gives guest enough time to eat and return ….. All the Paying guest should have been informed booking that 2/3 of the facility was not available from Nov 20-23,and we should have had financial compensation for that instead of charging full price. For the $$ we paid we could have had a better resort for $2000.00 cheaper. Will not return, word of caution to anyone booking this is not a 5 star resort, overpriced for amenities and food.

Bordeaux Restaurant: Amazing Experience with Austreberto!
We had the honor to be met with the amazing server, Austreberto. On our first night at Secrets, we dined at the French restaurant and were taken by his welcoming personality, attention to detail, and overall service. He attended us with grace, kindness, and a positive attitude. We enjoyed our first night so much we ended up going a second time to close our vacation with Austreberto. He is such a great worker and I highly recommend him. Thank you to him and his team!

Spectacular views and beaches, and prepare for the heat!
My wife and I stayed 1 week at Secrets Huatulco in Nov. 2025. After researching the resort and reading reviews, we felt this adults-only, all inclusive was the best fit for us as we had not visited the Huatulco area before. The flight and arrival to the Huatulco airport was as expected and smooth sailing through customs. No gauntlet of people trying to pull you aside for various offers, etc. We arrived as the sun was setting and waited about 20 mins for our shuttle group to be collected. In hindsight, I probably should have booked a private shuttle, but we only had one hotel stop on our way to Secrets. The shuttle trip took about 30 mins total, including Dreams hotel drop off. We are not part of the Hyatt preferred club, so wait for check-in was about 15 mins. Staff came by with some cans of beer and water bottles... not an ideal welcome, but the cool cloths they provided were a nice touch. Did I mention how humid and hot it was? Hotel lobby was nice but not spectacular. We were accompanied to our room where our bags had been delivered. We were in a Oceanview Junior suite (Master) room. Fridge was stocked with a couple beers, pop and water. Room was clean and sofa was pretty comfy. Bed and pillows were fine, but nothing special. All buildings and most rooms face the beach. Our building 1 is placed highest of all 6 buildings and provided incredible views of the bay and beach! I mean fantastic! Could have sat on my balcony all day and enjoyed, but did I mention how hot and humid it was? Being from Canada, it took some time to adjust to the humidity and full-on heat during the day as we walked around the resort. The pools are very nice and provide a nice tropical feel. Yes, there are some tiles missing, but you expect this based on the age of the resort. We don't enjoy the pool scene much and when you have access to the nicest pair of beaches in the area, relaxing in a palapa is way more enjoyable. Sand is a bit course on hotel beachfront, but the “secret beach” is much better with a secluded setting and wonderful swimming. The sand gets smokin’ hot in the mid-day, so bring flip-flops or water shoes. The staff and service at Secrets is top notch and Salvador kept the drinks flowing to us, even being at one of the furthest away palapas. Salvador was awesome! Order the Iceberg… it’s lifechanging. Yes, you get a few vendors and people on the beach asking if you’d like to buy stuff or go on excursions, but they were always very polite and not too pushy. We really enjoyed our quick Kayak tour around the bay with Alejandro. Fun guy 😊 The food in most restaurants was mediocre and seemed more “institutionalized” meaning high volume, pre-made meals. Be prepared for vacation club marketing. These guys are slick 😊 The Spa experience was heavenly, and we recommend it. We had a couples massage with Leo and Karen and they were exceptional. You can book excursions from the hotel as well, where you will be picked up and whisked away to adventure. Bring pesos for tipping…The drivers earn and deserve it! Overall, we enjoyed our first time in Huatulco and our stay at Secrets. We were not prepared for the heat and humidity, and this may prevent us from coming back when conditions are like this. I’d give our overall experience a 7.5 out of 10.

Loved the area but not the resort!
Here is some of my opinions on the resort: - beds are comfy but rooms and resort need updating. - food is just meh -beautiful location! Beach and the secret beach nearby are stunning! - everyone is so friendly and kind. shoutout to Amanda in cin cin, Amairany in Bordeaux, Vladimir at the swim up bar and Kelly and Ronaldo. - I would come back to the are but likely another resort. - owners daughters wedding was held during our stay and basically disrupted and interrupted service and restaraunts. They should have closed reservations if they wanted such a large affair. No respect or consideration for those staying there.

Secrets Huatulco - fun in the sun
Absolutely spectacular location with amazing staff - very attentive. The pool area and beach were top-shelf. The weather was hot every day for 10 days. The swim-up pools are awesome! The facility needs maintenance and updating. The food was average.
