The beach is amazing! Walk 45 minutes down and there is incredible snorkeling. The staff is nice and helpful. The food is mediocre at best. Azia and Palazzo are the only good places. Venatanas took 2 hours to get through dinner opting out of dessert. Spices food was beyond bland and dry. The resort is definitely old and dated and that shows everywhere. The sports bar needa updated games and equipment, pools need tiles redone, AC units in the room make horrible noises. Probably the worst thing was the water temperature fluctuation, especially in a sunburned body. One second cold next second scorching hot. There are wait times at breakfast and lunch. And the food sometimes tasted as if it had been sitting in dirty dishes. The cups have a smell of dirty washcloths. There is the neat shopping center across the street that was fun to venture to. I guess you got what you pay for but I will definitely choose to stay at the Barcelo Palace again next time we go.

Great Place to Stay
Really enjoyed the stay here and was everything we read it would be. The level of service you receive is hit and miss, some are much more attentive than others which was frustrating as shouldn't really have to tip to get a good level of service but that was what it took.
