  6 Days of Paradise

  After diligently researching adult only all-inclusive’s near the hotel zone, I discovered the RIU Palace Kukulkan Adults Only resort. I am a huge fan of Live Aqua (and still need to write two reviews). I’ll review separately. Once I found out this resort was only 3 years old and right next to Live Aqua, I wanted to try something new. I’ll cut to the chase as I know how important certain aspects of travel are of extreme importance. Check In: Was not like the hell I read on other reviews. I booked direct through hotel via a phone call to customer service as the APP is significantly flawed. I think ideally, I got my insanely beautiful partial ocean view suite. We were literally 4 rooms over from the closest ocean front view room (much closer to the ocean than Ocean Front). Clean, quiet with a great balcony and incredible views of the ocean! In addition, loved the view of the courtyard and could watch the nightly live entertainment from our room. Another great point I’d like to make. This resort was excellent, had nightly and daily entertainment, dance classes, volleyball both beach and pool, games, gorgeous gym and spa, great boutique and the pools were clean with ample amount of space. I did not choose the Elite package as I from what I read to be true- that pool is small and empty. There was no need to upgrade as my room had an insane view and much closer to the ocean than Elite. The other 3 pools are great. Some a bit louder as activities are played, but nothing over the edge loud. The beach is perfect with many chairs available. Food: I’ll be brief. I am a bit of a food snob. Not a snob, but just need fresh food. Another reason why I did not choose Elite was due to excessive research which helped. Day one, went to the Main Cafe for lunch while we waited for our room. We were blown away. Every night, we tried each restaurant and unfortunately, the service and food was sub-par. Was not bad, but certainly nothing great. The Steakhouse was by far the worst. Sent my filet back, only to get the same filet again (tough as nails) and unable to cut through the steak. Uncertain of the true quality or type of meat that was served, not edible. All other restaurants were fine. Nothing great and it almost felt like we were insanely rushed. Had no problems getting g a table around 7:30 pm. Ended up going to the main cafe nearly every night and found the dinners there had literally more fresh food choices and desserts that I’ve ever seen while traveling in my countless years (lol). You could not go wrong! So much food from cultures around the world, truly fresh and delicious. Next, room service. Ordered a few times and enjoyed the fresh food choices. Highly impressed with this resort and may return in the near future.

  Don't stay here

  The food was okay. The grounds are pretty no real security at the entrance and you're right off the busy road. I would have rated the hotel slightly higher if I didn't have a bad experience. Almost 11:30pm in the evening, we had somebody knocking on our door from hotel staff, telling us that they wanted to give us towels. I called the front desk and I said, we didn't request any towels and I didn't open the door I thought it was very odd. He knocked for approximately six minutes and wouldn't go away which again I thought was very odd, and I called the front desk, and they said, oh, they must have you mixed up with a different room. The whole thing was extremely strange, considering I was traveling there with one other female friend. We did not sleep well that night. I wrote an email to the hotel manager and to corporate and they did nothing about our concerns. They said we could contact Sun country if we had concerns because we had booked the trip through them. This makes no sense because Sun country has nothing to do with the hotel experience. This was my first time staying at a Riu and I will never stay at one again.

  Beautiful Paradise!!

  Alma G was so amazing. Absolutely loved her. The beach was awesome and loved all the pools. They were heated which was my fav.

  Cancun 2025

  The entire trip was wonderful. The staff were incredible, pleasant accommodating, just wonderful. I am a vegan so I appreciate the fact that they had so many vegetables and a few vegan options.

  accused of Theft - A humiliating end of an otherwise pleasant stay

  K Song New Jersey, United States Just came back from a 5 day stay at the Riu Palace Kukulkan Oct.27 - 31. The resort is lovely, as is Riu's other hotels in the area from my previous trips. The majority of my trip was enjoyable. However, our entire experience was soured by a shocking and deeply humiliating incident that occurred at the Steak House. On Oct. 30th, after an enjoyable dinner at the steak house, i got a call in the room from the steak house asking me if I took the "pepper bottle" from the dinner table and request the return if i did. I said I didn't. The next morning, i got an email again from the hotel's reception desk "....request the return of the pepper container from the steak house." To my absolute disbelief, i was accused of stealing the pepper bottle from the table. i was treated with suspicion, with the accusation escalating despite my repeated denials. the entire ordeal was embarrassing, causing a public scene that attracted the attention of other guests. instead of conducting professional inquiry, the steak house manager chose to make a baseless accusation of theft against paying guest over a trivial item. this demonstrated a shocking lack of training and customer service protocol. the experience shows significant problems with the hotel handles guest relations and it is a major warning for anyone considering s stay here.
