  Construction Zone- Rude Staff—Jack hammering ALL day!!

  peaceful and enjoyable experience, but unfortunately, this was far from what we encountered. Upon check-in, we were assigned to Room 108 in the Elite Villas with no mention of constructions or apology for the current construction and inconvenience. This room had a direct view of the neighboring RUI building that is undergoing significant demolition and renovation work. This resulted in an environment filled with loud jackhammering, construction debris, and workers looking into our windows. We found it impossible to enjoy our balcony or even sit by the elite pool without feeling dust and debris falling on us. After much distress, we had to request a room change to Room 202, which took a full day to process.. This unfortunate delay rendered us homeless stuck at the resort for the day, causing us to lose an entire day of our vacation without access to our room. To add to our frustration, the front desk staff displayed a lack of empathy and concern. It was disheartening to learn that the issues we faced were acknowledged as routine problems without any sense of accountability or willingness to assist immediately. When we expressed this issues and raised this request it was mentioned that we were not the first to complain which tells us the resort is aware of this entirely and is negligent in customer service and lacks care and compassion for the consumer who spent a lot of money to have top VIP service and accommodation. Additionally, the conditions at the elite pool were unacceptable. It was filled with dust, dirt, and construction debris, and the persistent loud noise from the construction work made it impossible to relax or enjoy our stay. The construction workers were visibly present, and we observed taped-off areas with red danger zone tape and workers wearing masks due to the hazardous environment. Every morning, we were abruptly awakened as early as 6:30 am by the sound of jackhammers, which continued until 6 PM, including Sundays. This consistent noise disruption and the awful dust made our stay awful. We felt deceived as there was no notification from RUI regarding the heavy construction before our arrival, significantly affecting our overall experience.

  Awesome Resort

  Great food! Perfect location. The nightly shows are fun. Very accommodating. I wish the restaurants took reservations but other than that, great visit. We will definitely go back!!

  Nice All-inclusive Hotel

  It was a nice trip. The hotel is showing a bit of age and needs some updating, although the room itself was in good shape. The music played at the pool bar was not very diverse (a bit one sided most of the time) and at times it was way too loud to even sit there. The gym/fitness center needs a lot of work. Much of the equipment needs repair or replaced. The restaurants were all very nice, great food and great service. However, we did have to get in a waiting line at least 45 minutes early for the specialty restaurants to even have a chance at getting seated. The food at the buffets had great selections and generally never a problem getting a seat. The wait staff were all very friendly and attentive. My husband and I have been to Aruba several times, but this was first time at The Riu. Although it was a nice stay, we're not certain if we will stay at the Riu again, if we come back to Aruba.

  Always amazing at RIU

  This is a great property. Food was excellent. Buffet has so many choices for breakfast and dinner. There is even entertainment in the buffet at dinner. Specialty restaurants were excellent with excellent service. There is always cleaning going on and have had this experience when I stayed at other RIU’s.
