Food was ok. Better at the buffet than the 4 restaurants. Terrible wine but cocktail were very good. Pool cleaned every morning Great beverage service cart around pool and lobby Great entertainment staff!

Apr 26, 2025Awesome Anniversary Trip 🥳
This was our first vacation in 5 years and a late 8-year anniversary trip for ourselves. We booked through Expedia and it was a great experience with no problems. Excellent customer service, individual itineraries and confirmations sent to your email with everything at your fingertips. This is still considered high season and I got this for what I consider a decent price at about $1, 800 a person and I've seen it go all the way up to $2,400 during high season. This I believe is a newer Riu and my second Riu I've stayed at and it was absolutely beautiful.! It's about 30 to 40 minutes drive from the airport and it's situated in Costa Mujeres which I actually ended up liking much more than being in the hustle and bustle of downtown Cancun a much more relaxed Vibe. The grounds are kept immaculately, the staff was friendly, polite, attentive and the majority of the staff spoke good English. The layout is just big enough and easy to navigate with everything being pretty Central. I booked a partial ocean view but they upgraded us to a full ocean view for our anniversary which was really nice and our room was a corner room so it was extra spacious and clean. We had one king size bed that was pretty comfy, the pillows were a little bit lacking but besides that we slept well. Our view was absolutely stunning and The room was clean and well maintained with no mold, dirt, stains or bugs anywhere to be seen. The air conditioning, fan and safe all worked perfectly! I found the property to be great value for money! The food was fresh, pretty tasty and neither of us got sick the entire stay. We would both agree that the buffet obviously not has only the largest selection but a lot of the most tasty options and besides that the Italian restaurant Milan was also pretty solid with good offerings like muscles, the salmon, and the beef filet with Gorgonzola sauce 🤤 We thoroughly enjoyed the nightly shows. I thought they were very good quality for the price that you were paying and they were daily which was really nice. While we were there we saw the butterfly show which I believe was some kind of acrobatic show really, which was super cool. The best of Hollywood show and the Mexican Mexican cultural show. I also believe that they had a silent disco that we missed because we were coming back from an excursion one night which seemed cool also. The water slide section is so much fun and there's five cool slides to choose from! And last but not least were the very famous Riu parties which are free with transport included and let me tell you no one knows how to throw a party like Riu's do!!! While we were there we went to the jungle party which was so much fun 😊 Although there's mixed reviews on the beach, I found it to be super close by. I find that lots of people are lazy and complacent, but to me the beach was not far at all..to walk to the pool was about 3 minutes and into the beach walk was about 5 like 2 minutes from the pool area. It was a beautiful white sandy beach which had minor seaweed. The ocean is definitely swimmable if you're used to light waves or have swam in the ocean before and my husband had a great time! There's also definitely a good amount of lounge chairs and more shaded areas slightly in the back underneath trees for all to enjoy. As for the pools, this property had four pools in total, two being main bar pools, one activity pool and one lounge pool, all of which were a good size and was able to hold and cater to different crowds! Pool action was busy all day from early morning just after breakfast at about 9:00 into early evening hours almost till 7:00! The mix of energy there is great and we found it to be more lively than a lot of other resorts we walked by on the beach with a good mix of Canadians, Americans, South Americans and a few people from the UK mostly. All in all we had an amazing 6-day stay that went smooth and we couldn't be happier! Would definitely recommend this resort to anybody looking to book and would happily go back anytime :) is it the absolute fanciest place and the best of the best? No, but definitely great quality and value for your money. If you're looking to have a good time and not worry too much about everything else, Riu's have great energy and beautiful resorts with lots of fun non stop entertainment! Happy booking and travels!

Excellent Stay
We stayed 6 days and loved our stay. The room was clean and we had an ocean view. Our check-in was smooth. We only visited Pepe's, the steakhouse, and the buffet (my husband is too picky). I liked all the options we tried. The only thing that could be improved is the off-hour food choices. I get low blood sugar and need actual food. But Wilbur the drink cart guy made up for it! The pools were nice, but the beach was more of a hike than we anticipated. All in all, I would definitely stay again.

Apr 26, 2025Very “Mid” Cancun Resort Experience
This was my third visit to Cancun in the last 4 years, by comparison, this was my least favorite resort. The resort is about 40-45 minutes away from the Cancun airport which makes commuting there and around the cancun area for excursions or going to clubs expensive and time consuming. The resort is fairly small, which is nice, it’s on the newer side so the amenities are all still in great condition. It could have been the time of year we visited but I found that the demographics of other guests visiting at the same time weren’t really my vibe, which kind of influences your day to day pool and bar experience. When I was there, there were many young adult travellers from South America and Mexico (20s) and older Euro/US/Canada folks (50+). Food was mid, the Steak House food was so bad, so so bad. The best dining at the resort was the Italian restaurant. The service was great for the most part, our only disappointing service experience was one male front desk attendant who literally just didn’t care to provide great service or ensure a good stay. Everyone else was fantastic. There were parties at other Riu resorts you could attend as a guest, they advertised the transport as 5-10 mins but in actuality the other resorts were 30 mins+ away by shuttle. There is a small club on site, which was nice for my friend that wanted to dance and party, I didn’t have to worry about her safety leaving the resort if I wanted to have a more quiet night. I would not recommend or visit this resort again.
