A great experience
Amazing hotel for the price, would 100% come back. 4 lovely a la carte restaurants, plenty of choice to drink. Friendly staff, spacious rooms. Amazing trip. If you want a Caribbean holiday which is great value for money this is the one for you. Would have paid more for this resort in all honesty as it is 100% worth it.

An honest, and thorough review
Some context, we're British and tend to holiday abroad far afield at least once a year. So we have a reasonable view on star ratings and comparisons to other similarly rated hotels. TLDR: this hotel is 3* at best with some fantastic elements and some terrible ones. I'll start by saying, the trip was somewhat foreshadowed by my partner contacting the hotel two weeks ahead of arrival, mentioning it was my birthday during our stay. She asked if there was anything nice they could do. She received no response. Check in - 3/10 Upon arrival we were greeted by Maria at the check in desk. Lovely lady. No welcome drinks though etc. However, she immediately began talking about champagne, waiter service, massages etc as part of a VIP package. We were confused and asked, is that what we have? No, she was upselling and to the tune of £500 for the week. So rather than a big welcome and here's what you do have, it was a 'here's what you could have and don't'. Not great, especially baring in mind at this point we'd been travelling on a delayed flight, on the move for about 17 hours door to door. It got worse from there, we were taken to our room in block 3, 2nd floor. We walked in, a huge leak on the floor, hairs in the bath and hairs all over the floor. Plus just generally scummy (more on the rooms later). The bellboy told us the leak was from the cleaning, it wasn't it was coming visibly out of the wall. Lying to cover up only makes it worse. So back to reception we went and were moved rooms to block 5 on the ground floor. Rooms - 2/10 Outdated I can live with, even small I can do with. But the room we ended up with was so far below 5* I can't begin to explain. The room could only be described as 'sweaty'. Everything was permanently damp, mould formations on the ceiling and began on my hat. The floor always wet (not from a shower etc). Yellow wall patches. A musty smell. Our items were constantly moist. Paper in the room turned to mush. And all because the air-conditioning would never drop below 25 degrees. At its peak it went as high as 28 during the night. Safe to say our sleep was awful all week and my smartwatch tells me I've had the worst sleep this week than any other week in the last 12 months. We complained, a maintenance guy came out once, pressed some buttons (obvious ones we'd already tried) and said it would be fine in 10 minutes. Surprise surprise, it didn't improve. Finally the towels were thin, worn and because of our damp room, didn't dry and smelled very quickly. Positives were the mattress was comfortable, the view lovely, it was cleaned daily and we got fresh bottled water all but one day. Food / restaurants - 6 Buffet: 8/10 Restaurants: 5/10 The buffet somewhat surprisingly was much better than the restaurants. Lovely quantity but high quality. Lots of fresh stuff being made and a good choice of healthy/unhealthy etc. Chilled atmosphere, great table service and very spacious. The restaurants were extremely poor. Food barely warm. Some clearly just warmed up after batch cooking. Choices limited. Portions tiny. We'd strongly recommend going next door to the deluxe tropical Princess which you can access as part of the all inclusive. The Brazilian and Japanese there were both good, but not great. Their buffet incidentally is much more chaotic with kids, rude south Americans barging in etc. So stick with our hotels buffet. Our hotel doesn't have a coffee shop or ice cream parlour but you can use next doors and both are good. You can walk or catch the little golf buggies. And if you go in the middle of the day you'll see lots of Iguanas which is cool. Drinks - 6 Soft drinks are mainly rola cola type brands. Alcohlic drinks are unbranded local spirits. Cocktails are hit and miss, tip dependent. We got on with a few of the regular bar staff and they made them much better/stronger. The ones you hadn't could often comes across quite abrupt and made slapdash drinks. At a 5* I'd have expected better service, branded drinks and in other 5* places we've been, table/lounger service. Facilities - 7/10 Pool 7/10 Beach 8/10 Gym 2/10 Pool was a standard hotel pool. Big, clean and a swim up bar. Nothing special but equally was nothing to complain about. Beach was close to the pool, also clean and tidy. Lots of loungers, good covers and a lovely warm sea. Let down by LOTS of seaweed which appreciate the hotel can't help and they did remove it a few times with a tractor. But did ruin the Caribbean beach look and feel. Gym, ah the gym. No air con, more machines broken than working and cramped as cramped can be. A sweatbox basically. I'd avoid unless you love it hot! The cash machine didn't work on site all week and the hairdryers are low power. Best to bring your own. The shops seem to open during early evening only. The staff - 9/10 The staff were all lovely and generally couldn't do enough to help. Most spoke English and always said hello. There are an obscene amount of massage sellers, trip touters, join the hotel chain people, have a photo with a parrot, buy these bracelet type people. Gets really tedious. Understand they need to make a living but it ruins the relaxation. Wifi - 3/10 You get slow free WiFi and it's not accessible outside reception and your room really. I had to pay for roaming and my partner hot-spot. When you did connect it was slow. You could pay for faster speeds but I expect that as standard at a 5*. Quirks - 7/10 Having turtles, peacocks, ducks and next door all the random lizards and wildlife was really nice and added to the hotel. Most guests seem south american and then lots of other random nationalities. Made for a good mix of people. Everyone was friendly and no issues on the types of people there. Definitely spend more time next door as the restaurants, rooftop bar, wildlife, facilities and so on are much better. There are kids of course but it's still worth it for the quality difference. Overall - 6/10 Clean, friendly and a well kept & laid out hotel. Let down by awful rooms, poor air con and average restaurant food.

Favourite Resort in Punta Cana
Absolutely love this small intimate resort. The staff is beyond exceptional and remember uou year after year. Alexander the manager of guest services will do anything and I mean anything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The landscaping is beautiful. The rooms are a little dated but very clean. I have been to this resort 3 times and I am already planning my next visit. Enjoy your stay and all the amazing people!

Great experience
Stayed with my husband for 8 nights here. Liked the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Facilities are amazing, gorgeous private beach, pool, 5 restaurants with ala-carte and buffet options, three bars. Great selection of food and drinks! Entertainment and animation team were awesome! Well maintained and clean hotel area. Room was outdated but luckily did not have any maintenance issue. Housekeeping team kept it clean everyday for us! There is a little pond with cute turtles. As well you can meet peacocks and cats! Thanks to all staff especially to Adrian for his friendly demeanor!
