Very enjoyable but not quite what we booked
We were greeted on our first day by Javier Reyes and he made our entire trip. He was so helpful and accommodating. Such a bubbly happy person we loved to greet every night. Our trip was good but it was not what we booked. The renovations at the Laguna villas was not complete so we got moved to the yucantan. A beautiful resort but we were downgraded from a villa to a two double bed room. Cleanliness of the resort was ok and food was terrific at the Yucatan buffet. One night at the rodeo grill which was disappointing. With a reservation for 4, we were told they could not accommodate us And had to wait although there were clearly tables open. We waited for service and ultimately had to help ourselves by going to the bar, stopping at the wine station and going inside to find cutlery and condiments from other tables. The food however, was very good. Max was with our concierge who helped set up a romantic surprise birthday. He went well above and beyond and supper communicative. I could not thank him enough! We will be back but look forward to the room we actually booked instead of a downgrade.

should be aluminum yucatan princess not platinum.
If you plan on going here thinking its wonderful and a 5 star don't waste your money. We arrived at check in the edocs says vacation includes all taxes and service charges wrong. They made a new tax saying its for cleaning the seaweed on the beach and you have no choice but to pay it even though we showed them the sunwing paperwork. We requested a certain room or close to it and never got it we were on the very far end corner right at the bar in my opinion the worst room far to busy and to many people outside your room during the day my wife went to congierge and spoke to Marten may have spelled his name wrong he is amazing and very helpful he went above and beyond and got us the room we originally requested at the opposite end of the swimout bar or opposite corner because we had the honey moon suite it was better he assisted us in other ways as well. Dont ask for extra water or pop in your mini bar you may get charged extra other people not us were charged another 30 dollars because they asked for a couple extra drinks in the mini bar how is this all inclusive. The buffet is ok at best and im not a fusy eater by any means they did mexican theme twice during our 7 day stay the second time I had a hard time finding anything good to eat it was horrible. Its very repititous same food night after night with a couple different items each night. They are very lacking in the potatoe dept which i like. Some nights no potatoes at all. Never went any where that has not served french fries on the buffet most nights they never did at all. Our final night i asked for some and they made them for my wife. Country night was the best night at the buffet. They served turkey that night. Very strange to me that they never did turkey on the american thanksgiving. Anywhere we have ever been always did turkey on anerican thanks giving not this resort. The buffet was small my opinion the dessert area was very bad and not much of a variety. We only did one al carte the rodeo and it was really good at least the ribeye steak which 3 of us had and one of our party had the ribs and was not happy with them. Didnt come across alot of americans. There were more Canadians like me. We were here over 10 years ago and seems to be untouched since. Groute missing on the patios furniture old and tired rooms the same coach roaches will come in the room under your door as some of them have a pretty big gap in them this happened our first night. Then you will get bitten by bugs probably mosquitoes we only went to the beach once did not get bitten there and stayed at the swim up room the rest of the time something in the room kept bitting me. Again Marten in concierge was amazing and elaina in the buffet was super nice and served you well she is in the back of the buffet always happy rest of the staff was ok some were cranky. Very few speak any english at all. The room was ok shower leaked in to the room badly i know water is not pottable in Mexico but sometimes it smelled like sewage and you shower in it and will smell it on you sometimes. This resort really needs an update they have very little premium booze if thats your thing tried the tequila one night at the buffet they have as you walk in it was like paint thinner although at check in they give you a cucumber tequila drink and its very good though it would be terrible but was the opposite. Maids were all pretty good forget to stock your room sometimes one day almost ran out of toilet paper had less than a roll left same with stocking mini bar and resort supplied soaps and shampoos. They also make staff cover there tattoes i dont think its fair and not sure why im not a big fan of them but dont think its fair to them to do this there are some nice tattoes. Update the resort will make it much better oh and on a final note light switches in the rooms are confusing the last day we figured out how to turn one of the lights on lol. To many swutchs in the honey moon suites.
