Fantastic Long Weekend!
Fantastic experience! Wonderful service and food! Came for a long weekend to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Decided on Palafitos because it is the only resort in Riviera Maya with overwater bungalows. The spa and pools are also very nice. Lots to do or not do if you prefer.

Aug 10, 2025Wonderful Stay at Palafitos – With a Few Bumps Along the Way
We had a truly wonderful experience at Palafitos! Our two butlers, Yasser and Pilar, were simply outstanding — always making sure we were happy at every single moment of our stay. Patricia at the Palafitos restaurant ensured every meal was beyond our expectations; the gourmet dishes and her attentive service made dining a pleasure. Alberto, our golf cart driver, was also excellent, making sure we had all the information we needed for a great vacation. The bungalows themselves are first-class — beautiful, comfortable, and luxurious. The beach and facilities were spectacular. Overall, we’re going home with many wonderful memories. Why not 5 stars? 1. Reservation and booking issues: When booking through the Palafitos phone number, I received payment links that didn’t work, and in some cases, different types of links that made me suspicious of their legitimacy. There were also errors in our transportation arrangements. 2. Fishing trip experience: We were a group of four, and for a shared trip, we were told everyone had to pay $145 per person — even though one of us didn’t want to fish. The only alternative offered was a much more expensive private trip. On the boat, the crew (who were amazing) hooked the fish and we only reeled them in. If that’s the case, it’s unclear why we couldn’t join the shared trip, pay for three, and have the fourth person just enjoy the ride. 3. Timeshare-style sales pressure: We were encouraged to attend a presentation for something similar to a timeshare. The staff were professional and polite, and I was genuinely interested, but I like to take my time to read and understand the details. Instead, the approach was very “decide now or lose the offer,” which felt like unnecessary pressure during a vacation. Despite these points, our overall stay was fantastic. The people, the service, and the setting make Palafitos a very special place — I just hope they improve some of these small but important areas for an even better guest experience. -

The team went above & beyond to make everyone feel as if we were one big family.
Mauricio , Jerik , Marco & Marlon- what an amazing team with energy , connection with everyone and informing all guests with events and activities. They were so empathic with how they engaged with every. You can tell that they truly want you to enjoy ur time here at maroma.
