Lovely resort. Great beach, fine white sand. Great introduction to DR. Staff are great and will try their best with non- Spanish speaking guests. Sometimes gets a little confused but no problem, you're on holiday, take it easy. Rooms need renovating but are large and clean. Grounds are immaculate. Ents team are the best. Jenifer at guest services is kind and was super helpful when my husband needed urgent medical assistance. Balance bar team were smiling and friendly. Bravo! Only giving one star less because I was dissatisfied with the level of urgency about a cleaning problem by the Spa pool ( broken glass).

Dec 17, 2025Never again!!!
First of all - we were at this resort mid January - we loved it! The grounds were so beautiful - loved the birds, ducks and peacocks - the ponds -the serenity! We came back Nov 30th with friends - it was so disappointing! We arrived by private transport around 1:00 PM - waited in the Lobby - only one person at the counter - several people waiting. It was about 15 minutes - the Attendent was free - only to tell us " check in time is 3:00PM, he must have had a bad day - no smile - not a nice welcome! - in January we were greeted with cold face clothes and a drink and smile "Welcome Home"! - Luckily we knew where lunch was served - by the beach - a good 15 minute walk from the Lobby! There are trolleys- running every 12 minutes or so - we walked - it was hot - in jeans - tired - a trolley passed - it was full. We arrived at the restaurant and waited a good 15 minutes before we were served and another 10 minutes before our drinks arrived! At 3:00 PM we were at the Lobby - rooms weren't quite ready. Our room was ready 25 Minutes later our friends had to wait to 4:PM. We had upgraded to a Premium room - close to the ocean on the second floor. We were taken to a ground room floor in Building 1 . People were walking so close by our window - the drapes had to be kept closed. The room was dingy - it needed "updating" - refreshing! We could not get the safe to work - we suddenly heard voices - as if someone else was in our room - then we realized we were in a room with a connecting door - a couple was fighting - we could hear it all!!! We wanted to call the Lobby - the phone was not working- just a buzzing sound! Back to the Lobby - no other rooms available til the next day! They were sorry - so they said! We lost one day of vacation - we did get new rooms in Buiding 3 - second floor by midday. It was not a good start - however we were determined - in spite of this - we were going to enjoy ourselves! Meal service at Serendipity - Beach reataurant for breakfast and lunch - was " hit and miss" some times we would wait a good 15 to 20 minutes to be served - other times it was better! We are good tippers - it did not seem to make a difference. The restaurants - Vietnamese and Mediterranean- were nice - service and food was good! The Buffet restaurant was pretty good also - one evening there were six of us and we were seated more toward the back - we were seated on white wooden kitchen chairs - very uncomfortable , cafeteria style! The resort has changed so much since January - they are definitely trying to attract a younger crowd! The music ( boom- boom - boom ) in the Lobby is so loud - impossible to relax and enjoy an " after dinner drink "! Some Palapas by the beach were removed to make room for a ballcourt - the "Wellness" theme is gone! We also had booked this resort for a week March 1st- reluctantly at the loss of $800.00 We canceled this trip! There is no way we are going back! We are Seniors - we have been to many resorts in the Caribbean- this has been our worst experience! What a change in ten months - obviously change in management! So much for "Wellness "!!! Never again!!!

Beautiful grounds and lovely people! We enjoyed the meals and the ocean view. It was a good value for the price. We really loved the events like the silent disco night! I would definitely return.
