    Solo trip for a week!

I went to this resort for a week as a young adult for my first solo trip ; Honestly, this was by far the best all inclusive that I've visited in the last 3 years, considering that I went to Punta Cana, Varadero and Montego Bay. This resort gives royal treatment ; I barely touched a chair all week, room service is included for free, there's someone that transported my luggage for me, there's a waiter at each pool so no need to walk to the bar, etc. The room are really impressive, bonus if you get one on the 5th floor because the view is amazing. The attention to detail is simply beautiful. The food is very good, and it's impossible to go hungry at this place because there's food for every possible taste. There are 5 restaurants, and all of them are decorated according to the theme of the food and that's and another attention to detail that is very appreciated. I want to give credit to the Italian restaurant and their wood oven for their pizza, it was really delicious and the pizza guy seems like he really loves his job. Special mention to Laura from the Landshark Brewery, she was the kindest and by far the best employee that i've met all week. The staff is very friendly and likes to talk. Only advice I would give to another young female traveler (early 20's like me) is to be careful about what to reply to certain employees more precisely male's that could be your parent's age (like early 50's) as I got some inappropriate and sometimes sexual comments from some of them that made me very uncomfortable. Please note that this hotel as no viable beach at this time. Honestly I didn't mind as I was never the biggest fan of sand, and I didn't miss it at all because the pools are perfect. There is still a great view of the ocean though. Other thing (but it's out of the hotel's control) is that the little strip of sand that could be a beach is covered in seaweed that smell really bad. It smelled like rotten egg for the first 30 minutes of being outside but then we get used to is and it doesn't smell anymore. I would for sure go again, it is a very beautiful resort and for my first time in Mexico, it was lovely.

    "Wouldn't Bother"

We have been to Mexico a few times and loved it, and thought we would spend abit more Money for our wedding Anniversary at the Margaritaville Island Reserve. Pulling up it looked really fresh airy and inviting but then you got out of the bus that dropped us off, a strong smell of dead fish and rotton eggs hit the back of your throat! Then we looked at the sea (as we knew there wasn't a beach) looking at disgusting muddy seaweed that took my breath away. I couldn't even sit on my balcony because of the smell, and it came through the air con. Not pleasant atall. All we got told is there is nothing they can do, but I know other Hotels had it cleaned up daily. The resturants was OK but full of Greasy food. The buffet was only open once in the evening for Mexican night which myself and husband couldn't attend as struck down with a sickness bug. Check out was very rushed and unprofessional she didn't even ask us how our stay was. We have stayed at 4 star hotels in Mexico less than half the price with better service. Happy to get home!

Week at Margarita Riviera Maya with family

We just spent a week at Margarita Riviera Maya and truly had a wonderful experience. The activities at the pool and resort were so much fun (Zumba, volleyball, foam party and card games) and the staff (Nicole, Angel, Angelo and the two Mariels) were so energetic and motivated and made everything really entertaining. Our butler staff (Karen in particular, Mariel and Joaquin) were unbelievably attentive to all our needs (explaining all the choices, providing aloe that we had forgotten and bags for our wet bathing suits when we left, etc.), and made sure to inform us of our choices during the week and to schedule what we wanted. The resort is very clean (everyone works so hard) and the servers are so lovely and always available to help. It really was a super vacation!!
