Wow, better than expected and 'Sandals' level

My husband and I are in our 50's and love to travel. We're been to many places and specifically Sandals Jamaica. We're been going there for decades due to the brand and employees. Staying at JOIA PARAISO Grand was a game changer for us. We didn't expect the experience we received especially for the cost. The hotel is a museum vibe and actually breathtaking. It's very clean and the employees are all super friendly. The restaurants are next level. Our favorite was the French restaurant and specifically, the Beef Wellington. All of the restaurants are fine dining experiences. Most are no reservations but that was okay as we would put our name in and walk or grab a drink. The pool bartenders were always happy and attentive regardless if you tipped or not. Thank you Carlos!!! A few minor things during our trip was at breakfast. We always ate outside as we enjoyed the animal crossing across the lawn and the beach views. We waited at least 15 - 20 mins before getting up to get water and coffee. The service was very scant outside which is a bummer as it's so beautiful in the morning. Please don't let this deter you from going to JOIA as it's minor. I just hope this feedback helps the JOIA be 'perfect. We will absolutely be back to JOIA and are counting down the days!!

    Great stay at JOIA Paraiso

Came here for a sister trip. Had a fantastic time! The beach was beautiful. The sand was super soft and we never struggled to get chairs on the beach. Our ocean front butler suite room was perfect. Loved the swinging chair on the balcony. Perfect for lounging and enjoying the sounds of the waves. We loved our evening butler Adrian. He went above & beyond on our very first night and every night since then, making sure we had everything we needed. Our day butler Bernardo was very nice as well. They weren't super pushy with getting you to go to breakfast for the timeshare pitch, so that was nice because I can't stand it. No is no and they understood that. At least the guy with our butler team wasn't. We loved spending time at the quiet pool. We mostly enjoyed the food. The Mexican restaurant menu didn't even have tacos so that was disappointing and not much food of interest. The Italian restaurant was lackluster and the beef (Tournedoʻ Rossini) there made me sick to my stomach. The Japanese restaurant was outstanding, so much so we went back a 2nd time. The buffet was hit or miss, but the Mexican Night at the buffet was amazing! So I suggest going to the buffet on themed nights. The steakhouse was pretty good. Breakfast buffet was my favorite after a good workout. The gym is small but has everything you need. We enjoyed the water circuit at the spa as well. Everyone was very nice, welcoming & accommodating. The entertainment team was outstanding! They made sure all guests had a good time & really kept the energy high each night. Loved the all white party. Overall, we had a really great time and I would recommend this resort to others, as well as return for another visit. 4 stars due to the food.

    Lovely Resort

I recently visited Iberostar JOIA by Iberostar, and even without staying overnight, I was impressed. The resort has a luxurious feel, with beautifully grounds and lovely decor throughout. The rooms are spacious and include all the amenities you could need. The beach was stunning. I dined at the buffet restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent variety and quality of the food. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. This resort is great for both couples and families looking to be pampered. My visit was memorable and I would be happy to return for a full stay some time.

2 excellent weeks at the Iberostar Paraiso Joia

We spent 2 wonderful weeks at the Joia. When we arrived, we were greeted by Cesear, Hector and Asesl with hugs. After, we were taken to Reception and were heartily greeted by Paulina, Elizabeth, Lorena and Sacnite, again with big hugs. All are excellent at their jobs. We were taken directly to our rooms upon arrival. The room was cozy overlooking the quiet pool. After unpacking, we headed to the Buffet for our wonderful lunch and greeted by Victor, head chef, Valeria and Milylane. Then, we headed to the pool for fun activities with Carlos. Luis gave lessons on how to make delicious margaritas. It's sad that Luis no longer comes around the pool with his fruit drink cart and his beautiful watermelon designs. So many guests have commented on missing this, this year and last year. We were fortunate to have Mirna and Tania as as Butlers in our building. Both were extremely helpful. I visited other buildings and Fatima and Marcos were also extremely helpful to me. I missed seeing Mauro, who was on paternity leave. We ate at all the specialty restaurants and only had to wait a few minutes one evening, otherwise, no problem getting seated right away between 6 30 and 7. Our favorite was the Japanese tables. Pablo and both Carlos' made our favorite sushi meals. Delicious! Melchor was our delightful waiter. The Italian restaurant was excellent. The Welcome Drink was superb. Our filet mignon was cooked perfect each time we ate there, with Eusebio being our waiter of choice. Rebecca seated us, and since we know her for years, seated us in the best seats. The French restaurant was very good. The onion soup is perfect. We love their lamb chops. Cesar and Leticia were are waiters of choice. Both excellent at their jobs. Gala night was fun. Food was delicious, saxophone player was perfect. Wilbert took very good care of our table. Each night after dinner we headed to the lobby bar to listen and dance to the music. This is the only place that could use some alteration. The music should be more upbeat for people so they can dance or tap their feet to the music. Listening to the trumpet player, sax player, etc, most people found other places to go instead of listening to this type of music. The White parties were terrific along with the fire show The theatre shows were fun, and we enjoyed the Rhapsody many nights. I spent each morning at the main fitness center working off all our meals with Luis, Sergio and Angel giving valuable fitness lessons to me. My husand spent each day on the perfect golf course and was able to take a lesson from Greg, the Pro, who is a terrific instructor. All the staff at the golf course are excellent. All in all, our 2 week vacation was excellent! 15 wonderful years coming to this resort, and we'll be back again next year
