Another Amazing Family Vacation at Iberostar JOIA Paraiso
Our family (party of six) visited the Iberostar Joia Paraiso in Riviera Maya in October 2025. Five of us had visited the Joia Paraiso previously, and the resort and its staff didn’t disappoint on this return visit. I want to share my feedback on our trip and make sure to acknowledge everyone who made our vacation so enjoyable – as always when visiting an Iberostar resort. • Pre-Arrival Coordination – I worked closely with Lesly (the Chief Concierge) prior to our arrival to set everything up in advance. Lesly was very helpful in making our requested dinner reservations, selecting items for the minibars in all three rooms, and other specific requests for the rooms (extra hangers, etc.). It was a pleasure meeting Lesly in person once we arrived after working with her via e-mail to set things up for our vacation. • Star Prestige Lounge – Everyone working in the Star Prestige Lounge was great and very personable! We had the pleasure of interacting with the following staff in the Lounge – Hector (led our check in process), Lesly, Adalid, and several bartenders that made tasty cocktails when we stopped by the Lounge – Leonel, Marina, Ladis, and Gamaliel. The Star Prestige Team assisted us in scheduling a Chef’s Lunch on the beach, registering for the Mixology class, and arranging transportation back to the airport at the end of our trip. • Butlers – We had amazing Butlers throughout the week that made sure we had everything we needed in our rooms and arranged for transportation to dinner or other places when needed. We would like to sincerely thank Gustavo, Karrolina, Adrian, Ruben, and Benito for their wonderful service and pleasant conversations throughout the week. • Prestige Beach Area – The Prestige Beach Area was beautiful. Miguel was wonderful in finding and setting up chairs and day beds for our entire family and offered to move us if better seating opened up. • Restaurants & Bars – The following people took care of us at the various restaurants and bars throughout the resort – Alejandro, Guadalupe, Roberto, Leonardo, Luis (Breakfast and Lunch Buffets), Jonathan (Dinner Buffet), Ka-eel (Lobby Bar), and Silvino (Ember). While I didn’t get all of the names, everyone at the Prestige Beach Bar and Pool Bar were very friendly and always took care of us. • Classes – We enjoyed both the Tequila class (led by Pedro and Jesus Rodriquez) and the Mixology class in the Prestige Lounge. Wish we had made time to attend other fun classes offered at the resort. • Chef’s Lunch on the Beach – We arranged for a Chef’s Lunch on the Beach for Wednesday – a member’s benefit we had never used. Unfortunately, it appeared our reservation was forgotten because it didn’t start until I asked the Prestige Bar about it and while the Chef brought out the lunch, he didn’t explain any details regarding preparation of the meal, which was disappointing. • Unfortunately, the room my parents were staying in unexpectedly flooded on Monday evening. Ana and Antonio were at the room right away determining the issue and cleaning up the mess. The resort laundered wet clothes. There was a concern the room would flood again with heavy rains, so my parents had to move to a 1st floor room (instead of the 3rd floor room) but had assistance in moving everything. • Special occasions – In the past, when we have highlighted special occasions the family is celebrating, the resort recognized these celebrations in various ways (flowers, door banners, desserts, etc.). During this vacation, we were celebrating an anniversary, 50th birthday, and our son passing his exams and earning his CPA. There were flowers on the bed for the anniversary couple when we arrived, but nothing was done for the other two events although once requested by someone in the family, flowers in the shape of a birthday cake were in our room to celebrate my 50th birthday. Overall, this was yet another amazing family vacation at Iberostar highlighted by all of the benefits the resort has to offer and the wonderful staff that make all guests feel special and at home. We look forward to planning our next vacation at Iberostar – it can’t come soon enough!

Beautiful property with amazing service
Stayed for 11 nights. The property is absolutely beautiful. Modern? Not so much, but it gives vibes of retro Hollywood. The staff all go above & beyond with service. Always lovely smiles & acknowledging everyone. The food is by far the best we have ever had at an all inclusive. We are early diners, and never had issues getting into any restaurants. The steak house is our absolute favorite. Amazing food & super service! Our room was somewhat dated, but very comfortable, clean, & well maintained. We spent most of our time at the quiet pool. Truly the gem of the resort. Evening entertainment was rather hit or miss, we are not really “show” people & the entertainment they had in the lobby bar was either really great, or really a miss. A few things that could be improved: -The drinking water situation- they provide glass bottles, but have no refill stations, so if you want a refill later at night, good luck with that. We had even left our empty bottles with a tip on the bed for turn down service, when we returned to our room, the empty bottles were placed on the counter not filled. -The quiet pool was lovely but EVERY DAY of our 12 days, they had gardeners around doing lawn mowing & weed trimming for several hours a day, the same areas they had just done the day before. It took away from the zen of quiet. Would we return? Absolutely! But would not feel the need to stay for 11 nights.

Fabulous Time in Paradise
My wife and I just returned from Joia after our first stay at this amazing resort. The staff here just adds to the beauty and relaxing feel of this resort. We stayed in an Ocean Front Butler room with a spectacular balcony and view. Our butler staff of Fatima, Paulo, Gabriel and Tomas were amazing. They saw to our every need and always greeted us with a smile. Another staff member who brought joy to us with her smile and energy was Janeth evening lobby bar waitress. She was so nice and attentive. The Activities Star staff was excellent too. Maya, Cassandra, Pedro, Carlos and Ximena and the rest of the crew had great activities for all guests and were extremely personable. Although I cannot remember all of the waiters and waitresses by name, each restaurant and bar was a pleasure to visit. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an all inclusive resort with something for everyone including a beautiful beach. Bill and Shelly

Sometimes things aren’t always perfect but it’s how things are managed
Another lovely relaxing break . We had some issues that were resolved professionally by the guest relations team so didn’t affect our stay. Pool/beach perfect no problems getting beds even with a large wedding group. Food there was some issues early on during stay but resolved ( maybe chief was on vacay) Drinks and service excellent as usual. Will be back in a few months

November 2025 familiar staff and services and food quality.
Great November visit. Familiar faces make it all worthwhile. It was great to see Emelio at El'Atelier. He steered us right as always. And we got to see Christian at the buffet. New standout faces were our butler Bernardo and Alma on the entertainment team. She made the White Party a blast. We watched Ivan at the towel concierge rescue a lost phone on the beach and reunite it with its owner. Shout out to Pedro on Pool services Haiku restaurant Bistro table was excellent as always. Shortribs at Legado were wonderful, tasty and tender. As we speak, our night service , Reynold is preparing our room for the night. He was quick and efficient. We were very pleased with our stay, once again. We were also impressed with all the improvements since our last visit - most notably the landscape additions, pool improvements, and remodeling of the room.
