  We can’t wait to come back!

  We had a great stay at JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar! A little bit of rain didn’t stop any of the fun. Our personal concierge Bienvenido was so attentive to our needs throughout our stay and made a great effort to check in with us every morning. The food at all restaurants & the buffet was great — definitely recommend getting a reservation for the Japanese restaurant! This was our first time here and we are already looking forward to coming back. Thank you to the staff for a very relaxing vacation!

  Ripped Off for $75 USD Per Person At Check-In

  Long story short, half of our group at check-in got taken advantage of and charged $75 USD per person. We wanted two beds in our rooms, but were told that there were only king size bed rooms available. We could get the room we wanted on the second day, but that would involve wasting time packing up and moving. We were given the option to pay $75 USD per person to get two beds. To avoid the hassle, we opted to go for it. An hour later, the second half of our group arrives, all on the same booking as us, and magically they all got two bed rooms at no additional cost. To add insult to injury, the resort was not busy at all, and there were definitely plenty of rooms available. We spoke with front desk several times to discuss our displeasure but they would not refund the money. The resort itself was beautiful, the food was good, and we all had a great time. Being taken advantage of just left a bad taste.

  Wonderful place, but they try to sell you a time share

  Our experience here was absolutely amazing. We were very well taken care of by Houston and Jesus. Every day our room would get cleaned multiple times a day and every time it was done perfectly. Our butlers, Houston and Jesus went above and beyond for us every day that we were here. The atmosphere here was beautiful. The pools and beach access were amazing as well. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was when we first arrived our concierge was very pushy into selling us a time share, or at least spending an entire morning making us participate in a tour, a meeting, another meeting with 3 different people, and trying to get us to spend thousands of dollars on a time share, which is a scam. We could not get out of doing this no matter how much we told him we did not want too, but other guests were able. Unfortunately it wasted more time than we anticipated. They tell you it’s only an hour and a half, but in all reality, we were busy dealing with these people from 9:30am- a little bit after noon. They gift you with a 30 min massage and a free catamaran ride for dealing with their pushiness, but at the end of the day we didn’t want to do either of those things. We wanted to be outside getting our tan on and having fun in the pool/ ocean. For the price we paid, we got everything we wanted and then some. Our room was right above the lobby, which made going to bed early a little difficult because there are constant parties until 11/12pm every night. We were okay with this, but we did want to get to bed early most of the nights we stayed. We were fine falling asleep to the sounds of down stairs. For us this wasn’t a problem, but for others it may be. I think we got the best room in the whole resort. It had a perfect view of the entire villa. The location of this resort itself is also perfect. We did not leave the resort, everything we needed was right here anyways. Over all we had a wonderful experience here and we plan to come back next year.

  Great resort. I would definitely come back.

  Excellent resort. Valentin our butler was awesome. He was very helpful and very accommodating. Service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and took time to acknowledge you and were very helpful. The housekeeping service was excellent during the day and at night turn down. Loved the chocolates on the bed at night. Pool staff were very efficient and there were always lots of towels. No shortage of chairs by the pool. I had 3 massages. The spa is very nice. My husband and I golfed 5 times and the course is very user friendly and very close to the resort. They shuttle you over by van or golf cart.

  Notwithstanding my wife’s challenges, we had a great time with our friends Peter and Jill (members) and Brian and Denise

  Unfortunately my wife got a chest infection but Valentin and your medical Center were a great help and support. We really enjoyed the service , the meals, the overall cleanliness of the resort and the fine friendly staff.our room was well looked after room service we used 3 times and it was great. Valentine our butler was truly concerned with my wife’s condition and it was much appreciated. He even brought eucalyptus leaves and hot water for a breathing exercise. We would definitely come back.
