On recommendation from our travel agent (Ruth Demuth with Trip Guy Travel), we ended up booking this last minute for our honeymoon destination after Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica (our original honeymoon choice). It may have actually been a better choice since both of us had been to Jamaica previously but neither of us had been to Punta Cana. So this was an all new experience for us. We had a blast! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. My hubby participated in several of the activities so they definitely knew him by name by the end of the stay. The food was amazing and no issues with transport at all (we used Nexus for transport). The suite was amazing and we loved the layout of the resort and all the food options. We absolutely loved all the cabanas around the pool and spent the majority of the time there. They did leave us a bottle of wine in the room (assuming this was in recognition of our honeymoon stay) and restocked our fridge daily. They freshened our room twice daily and we didn’t want for anything the entire stay. We did end up taking a ride to one of their sister facilities to play golf and it was a beautiful course! I had a massage and it was so relaxing and refreshing. The entertainment staff and shows were all great! We did not get a room with a butler but we were assigned a concierge and she took care of making reservations for the Asian restaurant, booking golf, and booking a massage. She was always just a text away. I can’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be returning in the future!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. I bought the membership when I went in June 2025. I wanted to use the credits they "give" you to go in December, and they surprised me by saying the points can only be used in the third year... They never said that. They are unprofessional. I booked with another chain and now I have to wait for the deadline, and goodbye NO LO RECOMIENDO. Compré la membresía cuando fui en junio de 2025 a punta cana. Quería usar los créditos que te "dan" para ir en diciembre, y me sorprendieron al decirme que los puntos solo se pueden usar en el tercer año... Nunca me lo habían dicho. Son poco profesionales. Reservé con otra cadena y ahora tengo que esperar hasta la fecha límite, y adiós.

Relaxing family vacation
We had a very relaxing time at JOIA Bávaro resort in Punta Cana, DR. The room was comfortable and clean. Cofe and Reynaldo were very helpful as our butlers. The service was very good and staff were attentive to our requests. Bienvenido was very friendly and helped make our experience memorable.

Nice resort, good vacation!
Nice weather! The staff were very attentive, the food options were diverse. If you like cats, there were a few locals that live on the property that are friendly and let you pet!

Great time!
The trip was relaxing and everyone was helpful! Our butlers were amazing, Cofe and Reynaldo. The weather was awesome for the whole trip and we enjoyed all of the amenities. The spa gives amazing massages!
