Awesome little resort!
Wonderful all-inclusive, smaller resort. The Zilara used to be Secrets Capri, but was rebranded when Hyatt bought Secrets. It's a small resort, but this month it seemed only half full -- which meant easy access to pool/beach chairs, towels, dinner times, spa appointments, etc. There are daytime activities and nighttime entertainment every day. Food is absolutely outstanding: buffet breakfast, lunch by the pool/beach any time, and (for dinner) excellent Asian and Italian restaurants by reservation. Coffee/ice cream shop is always open. Gym is aging but quite adequate. Spa is excellent if quite expensive: if you want awesome massages, try Anayela. Service is impeccable throughout the resort, with drinks brought poolside or on the beach. The beach is gorgeous, but unfortunately was mostly full of seaweed the week we visited -- apparently it's worse in the summer months. It was really only swimmable one day. Highly recommend this resort if you want a low-key, very relaxing experience with great food and great service. The value proposition is unbeatable.

Go in with the right expectations
We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera to celebrate two friends’ birthdays with a group of ten, and overall it was a mixed experience. The property itself is gorgeous—lush, well-designed, and clearly built for relaxation—but we unfortunately arrived during a time when the beach was covered in seaweed. And not just a little… it was bad enough that the smell carried through the open-air parts of the hotel. We had been looking forward to enjoying the beach, so that was a letdown. The Wi-Fi situation was also a major issue. If you don’t have international cell service, I’d honestly reconsider booking here. Everything from reservations to room service runs through their app, which you can’t really use if the Wi-Fi isn’t working (and it often wasn’t). Our room had some initial issues (broken A/C and a non-working fan) but to the hotel’s credit, the staff responded quickly and fixed everything. In fact, the staff was one of the highlights of our stay. Incredibly warm, friendly, and always trying to help however they could. Dining was hit-or-miss. Some meals were absolutely delicious, like fine-dining-level fantastic. Others… not so much. The quality was inconsistent: rock-hard chips, stale bread, a waffle that needed a steak knife to cut. On the other hand, the fruit was fresh and amazing, and many of the main dishes were excellent. Just a bit of a gamble. The spa was a standout - truly a 10/10 experience. We received some discount vouchers (maybe because we were a group?), and the 80-minute massage for $125 USD was one of the best I’ve had. It also included an hour in the hydrotherapy room, which was relaxing and fun. The pool and poolside service were also top notch. Attentive staff, plenty of chairs, great drinks, and a lively but not rowdy vibe. All in all, the Hyatt Zilara Riviera has the bones of a luxury resort, and we did have a lot of fun, but between the beach conditions, tech issues, and inconsistent food, I’d just say: go in with the right expectations and you’ll enjoy it more.

Anniversary Trip
Food and service were great! We went during seaweed season and still had a great time. Definitely a smaller resort but that is what we enjoyed most. They have a quiet side and a lively side of the pool which was great. Cabana beds for the day with butler was definitely worth it. Spa was amazing as well.

Perfect balance of relaxation and fun! Highly recommended!
My sister and I had a great time at this resort. The staff was amazing, most of our interactions were with the entertainment team and restaurant servers. I had so much fun taking the daily water aerobics class with Arturo and Sandy. We also loved that they had a ton of daily activities we could sign up for that ranged from morning and evening workouts to cupcake decorating and bracelet making. Let's talk about the shows/nightly entertainment...The water show and Rock show were my absolute faves although all the shows were good. The water show was like a Circus de Soleil in the pool, the guests enjoyed dinner set up around the pool while we enjoyed the show. The Rock Show was another memorable evening, the band and dancers were amazing. The Ferminator singing and playing guitar was epic!! The value of our experience far exceeded the cost, I recommend the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya for anyone looking chill vacation with lots of options for activities. I definitely plan to return. Shout out to our new friends on the entertainment team, Yunni, Sandi, Arturo, and Fermin aka The Ferminator. You guys are the BEST!!!

Excellent guest service.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Everything about this hotel was great! The showers are incredible and the bed is super comfortable. The pool is so big, that it never gets so crowded. What we loved most about this hotel, is the staff. They were all so nice and amigable.
