Loved this resort. Very friendly staff. The beach was nice & clean. The nightly entertainment was great. The restaurants were also good.

Aug 18, 2025Save your money, don't go here. Admitted they were a 2-star hotel, should be 1-star.
Lots to say. Ocean: Seaweed everywhere, and piled upon the beach. We could barely swim in it. Food: Not good. This was our 5th time here, and it is going downhill at an alarming rate. What used to be served at the beach bar is now served at the restaurants as a "nice lunch." Management: Tried to sell us on a timeshare (via UVR, of which we were a one-time member). The salesperson tried to get us to go to a neighboring resort, as it was newer and better, and said Zilara was "only a two-star resort now." I was shocked, but after our trip, I believe her. I had a trip/fall incident due to faulty lighting. Management gave me children's bandaids (even though it's adults only) after I declined a trip to the hospital. Minimal follow up. You would think a Hyatt could do better. Hopefully corporate will do something soon and make this the resort we used to love.

The Hyatt Zilara Riviera was hands down one of our favorite resorts! While it is on the small side the staff more than makes up for it with amazing customer service. We had not one but two fantastic butlers. Fernanda and Renata spoiled us and took care of everything to ensure we wanted for nothing. Definitely ask for Alexander at the Lobby bar and have him make you one of his delicious vodka pink lemonades. Whether you’re enjoying a cabana on the beach or relaxing poolside Ernesto,Julio and Bianca are there to fulfill your beverage needs. I was a little apprehensive about the restaurant selections. We generally stay at Secrets with more choices, however the Italian and Asian restaurants were absolutely delicious! My husband and I are UVC members and our representative Grace was wonderful and helpful. If you’re looking for a big luxurious resort this may not be for you. If you’re looking for a resort with exemplary service and a laid back atmosphere this is definitely a place to visit. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!

This place was amazing!
Fabulous resort! We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! Huge shout out to the entertainment team, especially Kemury, Yunal, Fermin, Alfredo, and Hector! Restaurant staff were also incredible! Daniel in the Legends Bar and Miguel in the buffet and Loca Beach restaurant. They took care of all our needs and provided excellent service. The concierge staff were amazing! The resort, rooms, and beach were beautiful cut the staff is what makes this place so great! Finally, the Zen Spa is a must! Such a wonderful and relaxing experience. This place is top notch!

Birthday getaway
I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. I was a little worried at first when hearing about the coette (I don’t know if I spelled it right) but they didn’t bother us. We kept our balcony locked when we went to sleep and avoided them coming into our room at night. Everything else was good
