What We Love
- It's all-inclusive and all-incredible - there's something epic for every beach lover.
- Their coolio "Stay at one, play at four" plan expands your vacay playground, big time. And, you won't need reservations at any of the restaurants.
- The natural freshwater canal surrounding the resort - hypnotic and dreamy.
- Melting at the Zentropia spa with vapor baths and stress-ousting massages amid waterfalls.
- The Brazilian steakhouse and Sunset Boulevard disco - not necessarily in that order.
Things to Know
- It's 50 miles from Cancun airport. It's a drive, but you'll forget this when you see the beach.
- Updates to the resorts are coming soon - you'll have to come back and see the facelift!
- Snorkeling and kayaking are free. Yes. Free.
- Don't miss the beachfront BBQ and live music on Friday nights.
- Kids' Clubs are available to give you a breather, should you need one.

Beautiful Grounds, But Not a 5-Star Experience — Set Your Expectations
My husband and I stayed at the Grand Palladium White Sand Resort to attend a wedding, and while we were very glad to celebrate our friends and visit Cancun for the first time, our overall experience fell well short of the resort’s 5-star claims. This was also our first all-inclusive resort, and we’ve realized that this style of travel simply isn’t for us — though some guests we met who frequent all-inclusives said White Sand was one of the better ones. So take our perspective for what it’s worth. The Good The resort grounds are lush, tropical, and genuinely beautiful. The pathways are serene, the wildlife is charming, and the atmosphere is peaceful. Many of the staff members we encountered were warm and eager to help. The free airport transfer was also appreciated and easy to set up. Where the Experience Fell Short 1. Service & Communication Our first impression wasn’t a great one. Before we even reached our room, a man with a clipboard approached us in the lobby asking if we were “here for the wedding.” It turned out he was from the resort’s travel club trying to persuade us into a breakfast pitch. It felt like a bait-and-switch at a moment when we were disoriented and just trying to check in — not something I expect from a property advertising itself as 5-star. Communication with the concierge was inconsistent. Before arrival, I was encouraged to complete certain tasks in advance, but messages often went unanswered. A final email about room selection was never acknowledged. 2. Dining & Reservation Issues The dining system relies heavily on the resort’s mobile app. Unfortunately, the app didn’t work on my phone. A concierge told me it was likely because my phone was “too big,” which is a frustrating explanation at a large international resort. In-person reservations can only be made before 3 p.m., and after that your only option is the app — which, again, didn’t work. The advice we were given was to walk up to restaurants and ask if they could seat us. That worked, but it created unnecessary stress. As for the food: “all-inclusive” seems to translate to “lots of food you don’t actually want.” Across the restaurants we tried, the quality was consistently mediocre. At the steakhouse, for example, the beef was no better than what you’d get at a budget chain. At the hibachi restaurant, the chef’s show involved repeatedly throwing broccoli for guests to catch in their mouths — and while some found it fun, there was no graceful way to opt out. 3. Room

Room Mildew Odor
Staff was great everywhere. Don’t bother with difficulty making reservations at restaurants. The buffets were better. Room odor was very unpleasant. They treated it with something strong and unpleasant.

Very disappointing
1. Service was bad- pool bartenders made us feel uncomfortable when we didn’t tip. I was also informed to go to 3 different locations to redeem the spa voucher. 2. Bugs in rooms (mosquitoes, roaches, wasp, bees, and spiders) 3. Food was not good. Kids are very unsanitary when handling the food. I witnessed a kid stick his finger in a dish to taste it. 4. Transportation around the property was inconsistent during the day. 5. Time share manager was aggressive. 6. Bloody sheets in the room. (Not our blood) 7. Humid rooms (not good for cPap machine)
