Expensive stay that doesn’t have much other than location. Thanks for JW Marriott salvaging the vacation
Unfortunately, things have only worsened from our last stay. After checking in, we were asked to wait at the pool area for over two hours. Then, they offered an upgrade to a suite, but we would have to wait another two hours. Finally, after spending $175 on food and drinks for a family of six while waiting for our rooms, we were finally checked in. This place is clearly trying to force patrons to spend more money. The room had multiple plugs that didn’t work, and the refrigerator was brought in instead of replacing the existing one. On the third day, they offered another suite, but they couldn’t tell us when our rooms would be ready. The location is great, but the place has definitely worn down over the years. There are spot patches and painting everywhere. They also recommended a taxi to visit the pyramid, but the driver didn’t have enough money for tolls and ran out of gas. We paid a premium for this stay, and I thought things might have improved, but it’s an expensive lesson learned after our previous bad experience. After ten years of visiting, we won’t be back. I’m sure we’ll get a common apology email or response, but it’s probably just a form response.

Awesome visit
My wife and I have stayed at this resort many times. We love the resort and love the city! We hope to go back in October. As always, Hector and Angel took awesome care of us at the pool and the manager, Jorge, is awesome as well! They always make us feel like family when we are there! Mark and Kathy Newberry

Great birthday vacation
I had a great week celebrating my daughter’s birthday and the staff (Anali, Maria, Marcela and Angel) made it even more special by bringing a special little birthday cake. This hotel was near everything we wanted to visit, was very clean and had delicious food.

Grand Hyatt great place to vacation
We had a relaxing and enjoyable week staying at the Grand Hyatt. La Cocina restaurant was delicious every time, especially because of the great service from Yairo, Daniel, Romeo, Lulu, Teresita and Giovanni. I would highly recommend staying there.

Farid at Front Desk is AWESOME!
This is a great 4* Grand Hyatt but remember we are in Mexico...overall, Rodrigo of room services and Farid of FD were excellent. I love the bones of this resort...BUT it needs some guidance.. Fairmont Mayakoba resort and Secret's Akumal are the true gems!! Enough of the loud music for us guests to endure ...it has to be divulged.
